Sorry if there's a thread already(looked/couldn't find). Anybody else have problems with targeting? Especially in the tournament. I'm in professional now, but still there's a lot of brawling. Don't even have a bot that can use long range yet. I can have 2 or 3 in front me, and the targeting switches to a bot to the left or the right out of range. Is this normal? I haven't tried reporting yet. Should I start the process? Are the MA CSR going to want screen shots?(which will be a 「female dog」 trying in the middle of a firefight).
Moving question from the War Robots section to here for Sgt. Beacon

Change to the vertical targeting option and see how that goes for you. The horizontal with lockon was always a little all over the place.. the issue is going to the vertical setup you lose the lockon button. However you adapt and its been for the most part better for me. Hopefully they will at some point add in the lock button to the vertical option.

I played Vertical for a long time... from when I started to about 2-3 weeks ago. Switched to Horizontal just to try it out and have been OK leaving it for now. I have noticed that targeting is a little more jumpy... but not much. I switched to be able to use the lock on function, but haven't actually used it once... except by accident in a button mashing flurry when trying not to die. Either way I haven't experienced anything that makes it bad for me... but def try the vertical controls, like A.c.r.u.x. said, and see if that helps. It may be a bit more... sticky... with your target... if that makes sense? If you have video... maybe post it?

New phone(galaxy 9 note) not best but was what I could afford. Still working on figuring phone out too.

The vertical targeting works most of the time. I like it because I can pick my own target just by putting the targeting reticule on a bot. The downsides is that switching targets can be a bit slower cause (I believe) when using the horizontal targeting the computer will pick your target for you before you line up your crosshairs with your target. Also, when reds are clumped together but at different distances, it can be difficult to select the one low HP mech that you want to kill, but I believe this is a problem with both targeting types. The Lock On feature of the horizontal targeting is great for Javs as it lets you lock a target and then swing your view out wider to arc your missiles around corners better. I can do this too with vertical but only to a point and only if I don't accidentally look at another red. On the flip side, I can switch Jav targets really fast if I wanted to, so I guess it's both good and bad.

I'm a slow learner anymore🤯.

Tried switching. I think where you can change your perspective is what's problematic. I'm a slow learner anymore🤯. You can practice in the Customize Control screen where you fight a pair of robot Paragons with autocannons. You can even customize your controls before you test them out, so have a look! Then, if you don't care about Tournament rankings, you can do more live practice there before playing CPC games. The vertical targeting is the main reason I can't go back to War Robots. I love the freedom of being able to look around. A lot of the fighting in MA is 3D, so being able to look up and down is huge.

Horizontal is better if you have Javs in your hangar. Can adapt to other weapons with practice. I use horizontal even with LAs.

My Ares and Juggernaut has Auto-Cannons though. Thks all of ya. Really appreciate the input.

You'll drop the Paragon as soon as you get either the Panther or the Killshot. Both are excellent mechs and both have a permanent place in my hangar.
I almost forgot, don't bother with the Plasma Cannons. They don't quite have the punch later on in the game, the projectiles are too slow to hit strafing fast mechs, and the ammo capacity is too low to have any real sustained damage. But, if you've already picked them up, they can do well on either the Jugg or Ares as long as you got the PL6 and not the PL4.

Get missile racks and pulse 8 when available.

Save some of the low weapons for the event tasks later.. cheaper and quicker to finish.

The exception is the RPG6 which is arguably better than the MR equivalent MR6. They both actually have very similar firing cycles with the MR having the edge of damage and the RPG having the edge on better chance of hitting at range plus the ability to hold fire after a target has gone into cover or is dead.

LOL. Holding fire is one of my biggest problems. Still getting use to new phone. But, I'm always shooting when I don't want to.
