Peanut brittle (homemade) and a brown ale (Best Brown by Bell's) is a surprisingly decent combination.
The only other notable combination (that REALLY shouldn't have worked) was a beer I was drinking in the 2006-2008 timeframe and Good N Plenty candies. Short version of the longer story: the combo tasted like buttered popcorn. Unfortunately, I don't know the beer. Through painful, disgusting process of elimination I think it was Backfin Pale Ale by the unfortunately defunct Clay Pipe Brewing Company.
Does anyone else have any unlikely, but surprisingly decent booze + food flavor combinations?
