Koalabear mentioned he saw a change in the $5 deal that pops up regularly in the game. He noted the reduction in credits being returned. He is right. Looking to the deals, this special "deal" used to have the Prodigy Crate with 500 A-Coins. This has been changed to the Amateur Crate with the same amount of A-Coins. It is shown still as a 50% off deal, but that is hogwash. For $10, you can purchase 1200 A-Coins which was roughly the amount of the Prodigy crate (750 A-Coins) plus the 500. The Amateur crate can be purchased for 250 A-Coins so not 50% anymore! This chest is won on many levels of the Tournament making this deal a bad one IMHO. Suggest avoiding purchasing the deal moving forward. BTW, why does this game have a "Champion Crate" when you cannot win it anywhere in the game? This should be the top prize in Grandmaster. They just keep restricting methods to acquire credits which will frustrate new players and could lead to more leaving the game or not buying anything anymore. Strongly disagree with their methodology but just one man's opinion.

You're not the only one... there has been mad amounts of complaints in the Discord about their currency stinginess... So far I've not hit a wall but I can see how it would happen, in time.

Yeah, after being so generous for so long, nerfing it is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. It doesn't bode well for the direction they are potentially going in. I'm just glad I'm currently in a position where I'm satisfied with my gear and their levels. I can afford to coast for a bit and see how things go. But I certainly won't be buying that deal again until they raise it back up.

I noticed this lately too, but didn't put 2 and 2 together. Unfortunately (for them), I'll be skipping this "deal" going forward. It was actually my only real method for purchasing things in the game. With it's absence, maybe I can hit one of those holiday deals that was available around Halloween now. It looked good, but I didn't want to spend more than I already was. No I'll be free to be a bit more discerning about larger deals.

So....buy the 1200 A coins at the beginning of the month and abstain from further purchases until the next month. A good plan going forward.

This feels kinda minor, but headed in the wrong direction. I'm still enjoying the heck out of it. Also, for perspective. I've been playing since late August. Essentially 3 months. My hanger is solidly mid-game and moving quickly toward an endgame level hanger. This level of progression feel reasonable when put against the progress I used to make in War Robots. Even considering that, we must also factor in that the mech and weapons offerings are also not as fluid. Nothing gets nerfed (yet). Most items feel relatively balanced (though some things could use a little more balance when in the hands of perfect AI). The ability to switch around hangers is still extremely common and encouraged. This feels like a small step back after a 100 yard dash forward by comparison, IMHO. Just saying...

Honestly I really dont have any intent on paying for anything, you can get anything you want by just playing.. just may take a little longer.. but none of it is "random". So if it stays with the current model, then I'm good.

Munki, thanks for pointing this out - my usual inattentive self hadn’t noticed. Luckily I’ve totally blown my gaming budget for the next 3 months on stasis beams, so I didn’t drop any more on these crate ‘deals’. Still, not a cool move, especially for a game that’s still in beta. If they’re trying to slow down players progressing their gear to quickly, all they’re going to do is create a power gap between F2P/modest spenders and big spenders.

I believe they are referring to when you purchase the coins normally through the shop... there is a 1200 A Coin deal for 9.99 I think?

Well way back when I started playing this game in September , there were some flash deals for A-Coins. I think Redfiend guides listed them. Have not seen those deals in a long time. The only real "deal" I see is not to spend a few $ here or there but to commit to a large purchase of A-Coins. $100 gets 14,000 A-Coins. That allows a 1,000,000 credit purchase for 9,000 A-Coins. The conversion rate is around 15,000 credits per dollar when getting them this way.

Not really interested in doing that with all the Holiday expenses... plus not knowing how things will go in the next few years as far as income... I'm in 'save mode' atm.
