what determines whether or not tourney tickets are available in a crate? There are only 1 each tickets in each of the first 3 silver crates you open in a tournament day. Other tickets come from the steel crates you get throughout the day that are available every 4 hours. These max out at 3 steel crates/day and have 2 each tickets in them. Make sure you get all of these. The last crate that gives you tickets is the gold crate you get from completing at least 5 of your daily tasks. This crate has 3 tickets in it. The max number of red (free) tickets you can earn (or hold for that matter) is 12. If you are maxed out (maybe because you held over some from the previous day) and open one of these crates, you lose that ticket, so make sure you use these free tickets each day. There's no reason not to. Also, make sure you have enough room to hold the tickets you're about to receive. The gold tickets are purchased for A-coins and are a very good deal considering tournament is THE way to earn tickets en mass. Danny Linguini, it's not dumb at all to purchase these. I do it all the time. I actually use this conversion to consider if it's worth chasing a higher spot or not. I can buy 20 tickets for 100 A-coins. That means the 1st place prize yesterday was the equivalent of 60 tickets! Consider this...I usually buy 20 gold tickets a week to help me keep up with the mech-Joneses. If that 100 A-coins allows me to get around 2000 A-coins for that week, then I netted 1900 A-coins and it was totally worth it!

I've mentioned this before, but I like joining heats at the last minute, so I actually don't ever need to spend my gold tickets. It's a good way to be competitive in a heat from the get go, and only have to compete w/ a max of 4-5 other ppl who are also gunning for #1

My method has been to an hour or two after a heat ends then get enough points late night to discourage anyone chasing me. But now that they've pushed the start time back a couple of hours, I think I need a new approach. It can take a while to pull into first place though when a heat starts, so I'm curious how much time you give yourself.

Since they changed the time I can't do this at all... and since there are about 3 hours left after I quit playing at night... no real chance at 1st anymore unless I just shoot for 4k+ every night. Not doing that. So, I left a perturbed, likely useless, message in the Discord Suggestion box about it.

Yeah, but I bought 20 of them for day 1 of the tournament, where no a-coins are awarded. That’s the stupid part. And then I bought another 10 yesterday, which is 160 a-coins and a crapload of games - and a good amount of cussing - to earn 300 a-coins. But today, I’m so far behind in my bracket now, if I bought 20 more tickets, it might secure me 4th or 5th spot and 120 a-coins, which is totally not worth the time or effort. The whole point of my wasting time and tickets on tournament games was to pile up 8000 a-coins. Between having to waste them to earn them, and then days like today where I might get 120 (or quite possibly none at all because of this 「fluffernutter」ed up MM), I’m having a very hard time seeing the value in it.

3 from silver crates 6 from steel crates 3 from daily challenge crates 12 tickets total per day.
you can also bring your daily challenge crate, and a steel crate from a previous bracket to increase your total tickets, but if you do this, be sure to open the silver crates first or you may only get two tickets from them
if you really plan ahead you could bring 17 tickets into a bracket and have 29 tickets to play with.

You can't join a heat after that. Another thing is that, b/c you're gunning for #1 in 45m, every point matters, and that unfortunately means that if you see a squad or a high SP human player on the other side, it's advisable to leave that match, or you could be jeopardizing your chances at #1. One bad score could screw you over. You have to try to play against as many AI as possible. It's unfortunate that they changed the timing, b/c this means I can only do this on the later days of the tournament on weekends when I don't mind staying up super late.

Iâm guessing heâs the one who established that forum; otherwise I canât for the life of me fathom how or why theyâd keep someone so blatantly inattentive and condescending in that position. If nothing else, thanks for reaffirming my decision to delete my discord account.

I don't have enough time to play through all of them most nights.
My issue is strictly the new tourney end time. It's impossible for me to come close to beating 4k scores due to Real Life being a part of my... well... life.
Like Redfiend said, if Tourney wasn't the only way to get resources then it wouldn't matter... but when I get time today I'll reiterate that not everyone can sit for 4-6 hours and play a game. If I get an hour, I look at it as a good day. I interact with my family, due chores, do work, etc. I am not treating this game like early Walking War Robots where I could spend a little to keep up. I've spent a some to get started, but that's it unless they make it worth my while. Which, so far, especially with this Tournament deal, they haven't.
Ah well... I can stay where I am at for a long time and just not really get excited to play and eventually delete the game, or they can listen to us and either be more generous with resources in CPC or provide fair times for tournaments.

I get it. 95% of my gaming time is half an hour lunch and two 15 minute breaks at work. WhenI get home i have a wife and 6 kids that need my attention.

Someone seriously stated "If you have to go offline with 4 hours of tournament remaining, just be 4 hours of points ahead."🥴 I swear these people have no lives, and I don't have much of a life myself, so that's saying something.

The gold tickets are purchased for A-coins and are a very good deal considering tournament is THE way to earn tickets en mass. Danny Linguini , it's not dumb at all to purchase these. Golden tickets never expire so use them only on tourney days where you have the time to battle it out, are on a good card where your card-mates are new-ish players, and when playing a bracket that has significant top prizes. Even professional bracket has a 180 A-Coin difference between 1st and 2nd place but really recommend using gold tix on Expert and above. I've only bought the 20 gold tickets twice so far myself but can be that difference in earning rewards at a higher rate.
