Has anyone paired LA8 or LA10 with SB12 on the Panther? I did play a couple of games with LA8 and did alright, but decided to wait til I can rank up my Panther and then try LA10. Here's my reasoning... Currently, while waiting for more SB12 blueprints to drop, I've been pairing my SB12 with either TL6 or PC8. I'm not sure which one I like better. The TL6 combo does really well in terms of getting hits, but it's a slow death for my target, and it can get into cover before my SB12 slows him down, then I'm outta luck. At closer range, the PC8 combo does more damage, but it's still a slow death and one prone to let targets get away. It's a very good late game drop cause it picks up the cripples like taking candy from a baby. But, I'm still not quite happy. I tried the LA8, and on paper, the ranges don't mesh with the SB12. The SB12's optimal range is way below the LA's optimal range, and when you're in the LA's optimal range, the SB12 will tickle the target and likely not root as fast. I've seen mechs outfitted with the LA family brawling and actually doing quite well (against me that is). Namely, bots like Panther and Zephyr that can root me and then wipe me out. I've tried the same tactic myself, but my LA's are only R2 and R3, so I don't think I'm doing enough damage. Do the LAs get better in damage at close range as you rank them up? Or is it the successive hits that are doing all the damage against me? I'm getting better at aiming the RG16 at close range, so I think I'm ready to try the LA family again. I'm going to rank up my Panther first and then I'm thinking of slapping the LA10 and throwing some levels at it. Is this worthwhile? Especially since I'm going to drop the LA10 the minute I get another SB12. LA's have higher overheat chance at higher ranks, that's one reason to level them up. If you run the Thanos panther build (RG LA8), the better the LA8, the better it is. if you want to brawl w/ RG, Panther RG MR8 is excellent. I run two of these in my CPC hangar

The SB12/MR8 combo actually worked really well. As for the LAs, I totally was a broken vacuum with those so it's a no go for me. I'm back with SB12/PC8 for now cause I need my MR8 on my KS. I'll likely experiment again and maybe do RPG6/MR8 on my KS...we'll see. One thing is for sure, I won't be leveling up my LAs. And to think I did so well with them for a while, but that was when I was lower in the Divisions and likely facing a lot of noob pilots or dumb AI.

I think I'm gonna do it! I'll be at the 1100 A-coin mark soon... Anyone know how much to R6 this bad boy?

So, I've got a question to folks. I was in my Guardian last week and I was trying to pin down a Cheetah. I saw it throw some mines my way and I hit my ability, but the action was fast and I couldn't tell in my System Crash deleted the mines on the ground. Theoretically, it should right? Does anyone know for sure?

EDIT - Koalabear - Yes, members report that it does negate the mines.

I just threw my R3 guardian back into service with MR8’s - good to know it’s crash ability has another purpose!

Ok, I just picked up the RM12 and tried it with Jav6 on the Guardian. LOL, on Tournament, first day, it's a hoot and a half. IDK, there's something satisfying about killing a target that you can't even see. I kinda hope we get that AI grouping bug again cause it'll be hilarious to see how many mechs I can kill with a single salvo! I even tried this build on a CPC game and I totally wrecked that game. IDK how many were AI, but it actually worked well as a support mech, and as long as I had some blue meat shields, it was a proper "wizard" mech. I use the same setup on my Paragon. I catch folks off guard and they realize too late in their rush that they are about to catch a face full of JR's.
