This guide is meant to break down the basics of the user interface, currency, and settings.
The main hangar screen is familiar enough. There are a maximum of 5 slots in the hangar.
The second slot is opened during the tutorial mission. The third and fourth slot cost credits, while the fifth slot is 650 A-Coins.
The top left has three widgets.
-A thumbnail where your avatar is displayed, with your hangars current total power rating listed under it. Clicking this will bring up your settings menus. You can adjust quite a bit about your in-battle hud, so feel free to tinker with it before getting used to anything Janky. Feel free to check out what other players are working with here.
-A thumbnail of the next item to be unlocked on your EXPerience track, with your current EXP listed
-A widget displaying the amount of daily missions available/ completed.
If your daily mission or EXP widget are colored orange, there are unclaimed rewards within that you should probably check on.
The bottom left has two widgets, the Shop, and the total inventory.
The shop has two tabs. Flash Deals and Premium.
The flash deals tab will display all of the offers available for the day, and certain other limited time “sales” triggered by item purchases. The last page of the Flash deals section has a daily crate that is available three times a day after a certain time gate, and five offers for Blueprints(Upgrade materials) which can be purchased for small amounts of credits or A-coins each day.
The premium tab is where premium currency can be purchased.
The weekly 500 coins + Prodigy crate is the best real money offer in the game. One stack of this deal accrues every week it isn't purchased, so if you're not in any hurry to spend money, they'll be there if/when you put the pocket change in.
The crates that cost A-coins directly are at a bad exchange rate, and should be avoided.
The token boosters provide more resources than all of these crates at the exchange rate of premium currency asked.
Tournament tickets will come into the picture later, but if you're playing this game as a F2P or pocket change player, you're going to be buying bundles of them.
Credits for A-coins are stop gaps between major upgrades. The major upgrades on bots and weapons cost A-coins, as does all of the end-game weapons. There's no real reason to buy these unless you're really in a hurry, or have reached the point where most of your items are high ranked.
The inventory widget is where all items in the game are listed. Items that are not unlocked display the EXP milestone in which they become available. Items that are unlocked, but not owned, display their cost. You can buy or upgrade items in this menu. It is also possible to sort the items by Energy, Availability, and Equipped in hangar using the button in the top right of the screen.
The top right displays three of your four currencies. Tournament Tickets, Credits, and A-coins.
Tournament tickets are obtained in limited amounts per day. You can get 12 free tournament entries per day: 3 from steel activity crates, 3 from the gold crate unlocked by completing 5 daily tasks, and 6 from the steel crates that drop in the Shop. Additional tournament tickets can be bought with A-Coins without limit or expiration.
Credits are the base currency. The main sources of credits are daily missions, and tournament winnings. The amount of credits earned through activity is relatively small. This fixed distribution can make it hard to experiment with items as upgrade costs increase, so they should be spent on items you're sure you're going to get a lot of mileage out of. There will be two other articles. One explaining Mechs and weapons, as well as how they function, and the other will outline possible progression paths to minimize resource waste.
A-Coins are the premium currency of the game. Small amounts can be obtained from daily missions and activity crates. The main way of obtaining these in game is through tournament. It can obviously be bought with real money, however, the previously mentioned 500 coin+ Prodigy crate is the best deal unless you're dropping big money for the 14000 ($100 USD) price point. Please don't crap away that kind of money, donate to the needy. You'll feel better about yourself.
The fourth currency that isn't displayed will only show while viewing tournament rankings, and in the “Fortune Vault” in the center left of the hangar screen. Vault keys aren't worth their real money price from the premium tab. They are earned through tournament. The fortune vaults will be explained in the Tournament and Cheese forever guide.
Tapping an available hangar slot, occupied or not, will bring up a sub-menu where you can equip a bot and it's weapons. Items can also be purchased or upgraded by clicking the item's respective image on the right hand side.
I'll probably add more pictures later, but the ones I used last time are gone, and I'm currently too lazy to set up a OneDrive to easily move the screenshots from my phone to my PC 😅
