Hello again spectre729, Of course, I was just kidding around my friend. I mean, it’s very difficult to go “on strike” when we’re playing a free game. * fistbump* - MHPhakeem they have a very large player base...haiya hi spectre729, it’s just a matter of syntax. I think what you were suggesting was a boycott, not a strike. What’s the other tablet video game that you think you would migrate to? I’m honestly curious. Are there any really good free shooter game where the developers aren’t trying to monetize their success? - MHPhakeem

We are all misguided in this thread. They dont care. They just doubled down with the nerfings to drive more revenue. Pix will do anything they can get away with to generate revenue. Hello T34! Actually, there of been many posts about how overpowered the Ao Jun has been - lo and behold, itâs been nerfed (again)! What Iâm saying is, itâs probably hard to make everyone happy⦠But many of the nerfs probably make lots of people happy. ditto the nerfs on French Ao Mings; Lots of players were complaining about how dominant those things were⦠And presto! Itâs been nerfed and the developers have listened. Iâm confused about how bitter people are about a business seeking to increase its revenue, lol. Do you folks get angry at Sony or Apple or Activision Or Exxon Mobil etc, etc? I can tell you for certain that they also do everything they can to increase their revenue, because thatâs life. - MHPhakeem Yes I am angry about Apple removing accessories while also increasing iPhone prices at the same time. I wanted to buy a 12 Mini. But with no power adapter and no headphone for the same price as last year? No way, they can suck it. Also: European model does not come with the mmWave but you pay the same for it as people in the US while getting less? 「fluffernutter」 Apple. And I say this as a person who owned 3 iPhones, 2 iPads, 2 Mac Minis, MacBooks and have friends working in Apple Stores It does not matter which company you are, if you are ripping people off and you are doing highly anti-consumer moves while marketing it positively, I am 「fluffernutter」ing calling you out for it.

It shouldn't ever happen, but it certainly does during periods of low activity. I've been on both ends of that match up on Steam and formerly FB Gameroom. The most egregious match-ups I personally experienced on iOS were Champions vs. Diamonds. Is there a particular reason you're dismissive of the problem? Or have I found another troll to feed? ‘hello replicant, I was merely saying that I have never, ever seen this scenario occur (outside of squad matches, where anything goes). It seemed a little odd to me to complain about something that is a statistical outlier and occurs very rarely. I was just making an observation, really. - MHPhakeem Fair enough. While it'd take more math to prove out than would be constructive in this space, the problem sited occurs more frequently than a "statistical outlier." Thing is, Gold vs. Champs is something of a non-sequitur. Power increases non-linearly the higher in league you advance. Gold vs. Champ is the edge case, but Diamond or Expert vs. Champion is nearly as bad (and far more common). The current structure of MM exacerbates this problem in favor of getting Champs matched into games. Reformatting league point awards directly addresses this problem without requiring a wholesale change in Pixonics monetization scheme. I know its a bit dated, but the best criticism is formulated against the strongest argument. See the previous response re: redution absurdum.

HANGER POWER MATCHMAKING
Their have been some great suggestions here and I agree, they need to be initiated. However, if they don't change back to hanger power MM this game is not going to make it. The league system is abusive to players and causes constant player discontent with a ton of un-fixable problems. If the game is not fun, it is finished.

I can tell you for certain that they also do everything they can to increase their revenue, because that’s life. - MHPhakeem Hello Friend, I understand what you are saying. I will try to keep this response as brief as possible while trying to adequately explain my position. And the response is not meant to be aggressive just in case it comes across as one. It is clear that we have differing opinions and rationales for nerfings and revenue generation in this context. Without putting words into your mouth, your position is that the developer is trying to improve the game balance by toning back certain mechs. In this context, did the Jun and Ming deserve a nerf? Undoubtedly. If the above was my premise I would have to agree with you. However, my position is that your premise is wrong because it only takes into account a subset of critical factors. By that I mean that there is one critical piece of information that is uncatered for in your premise. The step that is missing is that the Developer has deliberately released an OP item in the first place. If so, your argument is flawed. It is flawed because you cant say the developer is trying to improve in game balance when they deliberately introduced an OP item in the first place. More or less known as a False Premise fallacy. Next step is whether I can demonstrate that you premise is incomplete. Yes. I can easily do that by sighting Pixonic’s business model as explained by their former head of game design Ilya Smirnov. Link below. dtf.ru/pixonic/7906-ne-stesnyaytes-prodavat-moshchnost-ilya-smirnov-iz-pixonic-ob-uspeshnoy-monetizacii pay attention to the toning back section and selling an advantage. This balancing is an illusion. Primary reason is monetisation. Developers never listened. They’ve knowingly introduced the problem and removed it after they milked it. You and the player base have never had a say in this. Now you have the same issue with the hawks and the scorpions. Do you really think that Pix doesn’t know the hawk is OP and it will take them 6 to 9 months to figure that out? You may say “so what”, even if I am right above. This is how Pix generates revenue and they have a right to do so. From a helicopter’s view you are right. But when you consider the detail that goes along with their actions I am confident you are not right neither morally or commercially. In a commercial sense they cant nerf things without providing adequate prior notice. Apple’s terms of service doesn’t allow that but they do it anyway because not enough people will ask for their money back from apple or google. I found out the jun was nerfed in the middle of a game for goodness sake. Imagine the poor sod who just bought $1000 worth of Pt in order to upgrade his ming without knowing the nerf was about to land. The thing here and with many of their gambling features is that they remove the players ability to make good and sound decisions and in return they realise additional profit from that. That is morally bankrupt and illegal in terms of most developed countries commercial laws and even by Apple’s and Google’s terms of service. The regulations faced by these game developers is nothing compared to those face by Sony or Apple or Activision Or Exxon Mobil etc, etc. That’s a false equivalence fallacy. And that reminds me. Need to put up my usual get your money back thread.

if enough people went on a strike for a long time, maybe they will noticed... Hiya spectre729, yes, a concerted and protracted strike would work... ...and then we could all migrate to a DIFFERENT game! A game where the developers aren’t focused on making money, but are instead driven by a fierce desire to satisfy their player base (revenues be damned). A game where upgrades happen wayyyy faster. A game where in-game currency rains from skies and the only nerfs occur to other people (but not us!). a game where everything is easier and faster and free. * salutes*

Game play suffers, players get unhappy and leave. And every single update goes further and further down the same path, despite years of complaining from the players about what the company’s actions are doing to the game. And players are sick of being treated like the company’s personal cash machines for an increasingly declining product. Many of us old timers have known this was coming for years, and now it’s pretty plain to see that those chickens are now coming home to roost.

Bring the "community marketplace/item trading" system into the game. They can make money off it by charging a new currency for every transaction made, and players can get a really good and easy way to exchange things they dont need for things they do. For example, im sure that theres a lot of people with some old mk2 tempests or avengers lying around that they swapped out. Selling them for silver is an option... but the selling system in game sucks and doesnt give you much. Now, while some player that may want a mk2 avenger would definitely not be able to afford it in the current game, one player with that weapon can sell it to another player who wants it for some 60million+ sliver and be satisfied, and the person who receives it will also be satsified as they were able to grind silver to get a high level gold weapon.
The carrot for pix here is the currency for trading. I always wanted it to be the return of influence. 100 INF per trade, the person selling and the person buying each pay 100. 100 influence would be like $2, making it rarer than both gold and silver.

I don’t think that Pix nerfed Ao Jun or Ao Ming purely out of compassion and fealty to the player base - but I just don’t see it as a money grab. I mean, I don’t think it’s a purely binary thing, you know? * muses* I remember when specter shocktrain was the apex predator on the field...it was just so boring. Endless matches devolving into staring contest punctuated by a brief jump and then back to nothing. I thought it was kind of bad for the game. I don’t know if I was alone in thinking this way, but I really was thinking of quitting. Not out of frustration, but boredom. I was glad that pix addressed this. I think it moved the game in the right direction. I also get that Pix continues to offer luxury niceties to those who feel compelled to drop 3 or 4 figures on their hobby. I don’t want to comment on the kind of person that spends their money in this manner…Because money is relative. If you have more than you need, I don’t see what the big deal is if you want to drop it on your hobby. Hello Danny, i’m still confused how people can view themselves as cash cows to an entity that gives them a game for free. I guess what I need to understand is what all of you feel is a fair fee to pay for increased rewards in a game that is provided for free. i get the VIP pass thing when it’s on discount every month. Sometimes I do the Operations pass (sometimes I skip it). The sum total of these purchases costs less than a pizza. It seems reasonable to me, and I don’t feel particularly ripped off. Beyond that, I don’t spend anything more. The past three seasons I averaged 10,000 rating, and had fun playing matches. Nothing in my hanger is meta, but I had a decent time playing. It is a business decision because it makes them more money than putting the game behind a paywall. Those who pay are being ripped off several times more than if the game would be paid. The shilling has begun. Hey, I get it. I'd punch a kid for a fat check but don't come up in here and telling us we're wrong for being unhappy with the direction of the game.
PS: It may be a free game but a lot of us have spent money just to have crap shoveled in our faces.

Lower the lifeboats, women and children first, just make sure the band keeps playing...oh, and don’t forget the poor souls in steerage.

Lot of people playing FFA nowadays... 6 people from the same clan, figures. That’s the only way to get an FFA game. When they played with the MMer something happened. I mentioned it on some posts. MMing times skyrocketed. I used to play some FFA every day but when the counter went above 10 mins a few times I gave up. I suspect people noticed the same and dont bother anymore. Game mode is effectively dead atm. MMing times are also up in every mode. There could be several factors contributing like not mixing platforms but I suspect DAU is down significantly.
