What level is your Jugg? I've found that Jugg and Ares need to be really high to get the most mileage out of them, especially in the higher divisions and against human players. That's why I kinda shelved both my Jugg and Ares in favour of Guardian and Zephyr. For me, it's better to have mechs that can make my target helpless for a few seconds and then do catastrophic damage to them than to have a tank to soak up damage. Between Jugg and Ares though, Jugg is the better overall tank while the Ares is a great sniper or counter sniper. Jugg performs decent as a sniper too. Between RPG6 and MR6, go for the RPG6. I feel it's the better overall weapon. It works really well on the KS too if you decide to move the JR6 to another mech. My fave KS build now is with MR8 as it's a real "blaze of glory" type of mech. It doesn't sound like you have the Shadow, which is a shame cause it's my fave JR platform. The MD is a decent JR6 platform too as ⓣⓡⓘⓒⓚⓨ48 can attest to. If I didn't already have my Shadow leveled to R5, I probably would be running my MD as my JR6 mech. How about something like this? Panther SB12/CB8 KS MR8 Jugg PC8 or LA8 MD JR6/JR4 Lancer JR6/JR4 This way, you get two mechs that can sucker punch from cover and work on leveling up your MD to R5 to run dual JR6. Once you have that, think about getting either the Guardian or Zephyr. Jugg is R5. I do have LA8/LA10 for it, but my long-range game is terrible and I only find that load out effective on one or two tourney maps, and useless (to me) in CPC. I’m close to that Panther setup - SB16/PC8 (I just like PC better than carb), which has been very good. MD is only at R3 - having blown so many resources on Lancer, there wasn’t enough to go around for another lightweight. I run it when I have to for challenges, but that’s about it. Killshot - my problem child. It’s R4, and I’d been running MR8’s on it for awhile, but it’s just too soft to leave exposed, even as quickly as MRs unload. Getting into and out of line of sight to get a shot is long enough for 3 hits from LA’s, which is all it takes to vaporize it. So the javs are back on it, and it seems happiest with that setup. I was pretty much owning yesterday’s tourney map with it. And Lancer has R4 RPG6’s again, which are ok, but desperately need ranking up. In fact everything other than Jugg and Panther desperately needs ranking up. My other mechs are soft, and weps are all R4 and relatively ineffective. My biggest mistake was wasting a crap-ton of a-coins on those goddamm carbines. I could have had THREE sets of weapons up to R5 for what I blew on those, which are currently sitting unused because I have no good use for them. Might put them back on Jugg, maybe, I don’t know. I do know I’d be in a much better place without them. MR8s and/or CB8s should own reds in close combat on KS. In long range with MR8s on KS I just slide left and right to avoid sniper fire. Also snipers are the first on my list of targets.

They hit me zigging, zagging and jumping. I’ve also danced around pulse cannons at close range and they don’t miss a single round. They actually seem to anticipate my lateral moves and just do not miss. But I digest. My Killshot is just too squishy at R4 against what I’m facing for effective CQC. I do plan on changing that, but I’ve got a bunch of weapons to rank up first that will need a LOT of a-coins.

Yeah, tell me about it! Bots have never-miss aim at any range! Grrr! Bots in KS have gotten really annoying, always sneaking up on me from behind with pulse cannons.

So... I got bored last night... and then this happened:
Once I 5 starred it I took it out for a spin. I had played long enough, previously, for the CPC to throw decently hard AI at me, so it was a bit challenging, but it was fun as Hell.
Tanky little SOB.

Tanky little SOB. I get MVP with this guy a lot more than I reasonably should. Especially on Neo Hokkaido. Had a game there earlier where I defied my usual instinct to try to recapture a home CP that reds had taken; they decided to spawn two mechs there, and then a third, which would absolutely not end well if I tried to take them on. So I hightailed it over to the left-center building roof and started hammering anything within 75m. Took a good bit of damage first, but stayed alive and finally got in the groove where I was doing just enough to distract them from capping CP’s. Was teamed with OU812? who was taking care of business on the ground; we won, him #1 and me #2. Jav Lancer is probably my most fun mech to play ... except when I’m up against a squad of 3000+ hangars where the javs barely scratch their paint. So I know it’s not going to be a forever mech, but it’s hella fun for now.
