Where is it most efficient to spend those hard earned coins? Should I use them up as fast as I can to get my bots to 4 stars, or save them and spend them on other bots/weps? Im still weaker, just trying to figure out whats the best way to spend them before I make a huge mistake with them.

My humble opinion, still being fairly new to the game (about two months), hang onto a-coins for rank-ups. Be very judicious about buying new mechs and weapons. Hopefully Redfiend will re-post his beginner guides soon - he had tons of very valuable info like this. Don’t rush into anything until you’ve had a chance to see some of that material. My experience has been, while some of these mech and weapon offers are enticing, there are only a few that are really worthwhile. Most of the mechs are very usable pretty far into the game. You might notice how the energy levels increase as mechs rank up, for instance - that completely changes your weapon options, and in some cases (like Juggernaut) can transform a mech from just ok to a real game-changer. You’ll need lots and lots of a-coins to rank up mechs and weapons. Others’ experiences will likely vary, and there are a few members here who’ve been playing a lot longer than I have. So don’t be afraid to jump in and ask for advice before pulling the trigger on some slick looking new piece of kit.

I had to have the Missile Rack 6 for my Ares and used up most of my A coins getting more credits. It cost 281,000. It was So Worth It, imho. While at first I wasn’t crazy about the burst fire of MR6 I adjusted my play and it just destroys most bots in one go, as long as my aim is on target. So Ares shields up and walks into battle, finds a juicy Jugg with its shield, then destroys. This Never gets old. :-D. I don’t recommend everyone do this, this is just how I went. I usually play the long game and save, but eh, this is fun.

Best A-coins I’ve spent were on a pair of Jav4s and Jav6s. Serious fun.

Jugg, Panther, Jav6 and Guardian are nice A-coin buys. Then there is the long haul to get carbines and rail gun. Other than that i would convert to credits, or use to rank up.

hamdroid... F2P or spend a little or whale?
Im F2P. So I need to be careful with how I spend my resources. I like the long game, but I dont want to save for months and just grind. I want to play for fun, so I am ok with getting something like the MR6 and later the MR8. I constantly matched up with ppl that are rocking better mechs and gear, so I can definitely use any upgrade to help out. I dont have that Ares, wasnt sure about spending on that mech yet. I would love to replace my paragon. I do have the Jugg, Panther, and KS but its very rare that I ever make to the paragon, so I havent pulled the trigger yet on the Ares. Seems I might be able to just focus on those 3 bots to 4 stars, and the weps that go on them. Thx all for sharing your experiences, I'll think about what to do next over the next few days.

I don't think it's possible to make a huge mistake with this game. This isn't War Robots, it's not designed to make you feel your hangar is suddenly worthless. Some bots aren't the best for the upper tiers of the game but all of them have their strengths and it becomes obvious which is which long before you overinvest in any particular item. Also the matchmaker is not designed to get you constantly clobbered by whales either. How tough your opponents are depends on your win rate so if things get too tough it eases up. And that means that moving up as fast as possible isn't all that rewarded either. Overall Panther, Killshot and Juggs seem like the 3 bots that are always worth investing in. I suspect Guarduan and Zephyr fall into that category too. I actually like my Ares a lot and think it is worth getting, but it isn't truly essential. Javs, Longarms, Missile Racks, Carbines and Railguns seem like the must-have weapons but it seems like most weapons are good enough for long enough as you slowly progress. Scape211 does a bunch of videos on his channel comparing different items. I don't completely agree with all his analysis and think he prizes economic efficiency a little too much but if you're worried about buying the wrong thing his videos can be really helpful: www.youtube.com/user/scape211

MR6 on Panther is deadly and lots of fun. Shoots around corners from behind that laser fence.

MR6 on Panther is deadly and lots of fun. Shoots around corners from behind that laser fence. Panther was the first bot I used them on, as well. It works well to slow fast bots down and then let you shoot rockets in their faces from behind a shield. I don't think this is a bad build at all and, frankly, if I didn't have the next build as an option, would be my second choice.
Rambling Random Thoughts about the MRs to follow:
MRs will work well on pretty much any bot, much like RPGs... you do have to adjust a little to the bots' differences, but otherwise, the weapon determines the tactics I use no matter the platform. So far, though, KS is my favorite platform for them. By a long shot. The speed of positioning that it brings to the table allows for some very versatile employment of the weapon. Then, the fact that I can either escape with the dash, or finish off whatever I am fighting with it if the MRs don't take care of it all the way, clinches the deal for me.
Other bots I had great success with, if any are wondering where to put the MRs, are the Ares and Jugs... for the obvious reason of having the shield to allow for more timely aiming. Most of the longer ranged, "sniping" shots that shocked me when I got the kill came from these bots and them being able to take a few hits while I was lining up the shot. Over the broken bridge on that Moon map is a definite example... usually a multikill since they like to bunch up and I like to allow my Blues to start shooting and gather the attention first, so that the Reds don't dodge the relatively slow projectiles that suddenly come flying in in the midst of the RPGs, ACs, and PCs and LAs that my Blues are firing at them.
I have also put a single MR8 on the Shadow and had a good time of it. Speed, plus the surprise that is the Shadow's forte, has allowed for some great flanking shots taking advantage of the damage multiplier and getting some surprising kills for a single weapon.
Guardian MR is another that I see a lot... but I don't like it as much. If you like the ambush style of play, this bot is very similar to the Panther in that you can debuff the Red before shooting them. Sorta like the Tanks too, though, since the ability will immediately reset the weapon reload cycle on the Reds that you catch with it, allowing time to line up good shots. Instead of taking the hits on your shield, though, you are just not taking any damage, at all... assuming you aren't in the line of fire of Reds that weren't in your ability's radius, of course.
Choke-points are crucial map features to use these in. The crevices in Dubai are key examples... as well as that cave in the Ice map. If I can catch a few Reds bunched up, it's going to be a multi-kill, every time.
Also, like you said... the corner shooting. I like finding a pillar and moving a little to the left and sticking one side out to shoot, then a little to the right to shoot the other.
Sorry if this is a derail....

What about the Stasis Beam 12? It costs A-Coins but I think Redfiend and Deadeye stated that it was very effective with Thermal Lances.

It is my next build - I jumped at the SB16 and have it paired with TL4 on Panther, but the first option has more longevity (the TL4 cannot overheat (at low levels? or at all?) unlike the TL6).

TL4 needs to be rank 4 for it to inflict overheat with the small amount of ammo it regenerates after the 3 second "reload from completely empty". A single TL6 at rank 3 takes about 10 of the ammo displayed to inflict overheat. The TL 4 takes 20-ish to inflict overheat at R4. The ammo displayed is a percentage out of 100, while the magazine is actually 75 damage ticks, so it's wonky to explain. TL6 is almost instant, TL4 only inflicts overheat under 2 seconds at rank 4.
