A jumping bulwark !!!
Who woulda thunk it. While manni's vids can sometimes bug some of you, I suggest watching this. Especially if you've got an old bulwark and tobias pilot collecting dust. I'm gonna have to try this out!!!

I saw AYGIR do this with a Bulwark Thunder setup. It's REALLY nice actually and I personally would love to try it if I owned the robot and the pilot.

Love grabbing beacons as I get a red out of position as they think I have advanced healing. Boom, over their head, slow em down with icy goodness from the glaciers. Bam, beacon is mine.

Same, been running my leaping glacier bully since jump came out. It's fantastic as a defensive move as well when the usual face hugging bots (phantom, blitz, leech, ravana) try to get in close.
Jump backwards and let them have it whilst recharging your aegis again.
I think the nucleons would be the best build for sustained damage but sadly I don't have 2 to whack on there.

Initial caveat. Manni and Adrian often show off builds they can do well with, but they have unlimited max level equipment and are using big screen emulators with mouse aiming. Then they run their stuff against regular hangers with players using tablets or phones.
I’ve been running one for a month now. It’s pretty beastly.
- The reset timer for the ability starts as soon as you punch the Jump button, so from when you land it takes about 7 seconds to recharge again if you have Tobias. It really mitigates the worst weakness of the Bully - lack of speed. - I only have 2 non-maxed fortifiers but even with that it boosts the shields to a useful level. Without the fortifiers you die quickly. With the fortifiers you have a degree of survivability against multiple reds or Titans. - the jump allows you to evade people who get inside your aegis shield.
Without the Legendary Pilot and fortifiers the Bully is way behind the power curve.
I’m running mine with vipers, and this set up allows you to stand in the open and deliver full clips into the reds and use the jump to get into cover for the reload if needed. I am thinking of swapping over to redeemers for a test. Nucleons are another choice, but my nucleons are in service on other bots.

I like manni's vids. Not one of his gushing fanboys but I find his commentary amusing and I like how he actually calls pixo out on the bad stuff in the game like lag and op bots. Adrian seems to defend them no matter what they do...
Manni actually plays cautiously sometimes too, using cover and tactics. I see other players that just carelessly run their meta bots straight into the enemy group, ability/ps/Last Stand over and over. I hate that wasteful meta style because even though they get big scores I know that if the game was fair and hangars level, they would get beaten badly because they are playing a no skill style.

I would love to build one but it’s expensive in gold because of the stupid pilot rework. I counted 4 skills I need on it plus the pilot plus 2 Fortifiers. It’ll cost about 21k au altogether.

Burns those power cells though. I'm used to running Ravens where the jump is just part of the bot, so that "ka-ching" of each jump just bugs me.
On the topic of surprising builds though, I just ran a Hydra Ao Guang on the test server and ran up some kills. It worked as well as I'd thought it might. That's a someday project.

What do they care when they have 4 other clone bots equally as powerful ready to load up if you happen to take out 1. The name of the game is bum rush any weaker opponents and gather enough juice to fill up the Titan bar.....

I'm running PS on my Redeemer Bully...this might be much more useful...and make Tobias worth the investment. Would suck to have to retrain a brand new pilot when mine is already max level though.
Definitely gonna try it out.

Would be awesome to see vids of these Battle Rec accounts taking part in S-Clan Squad matches. I have the same problem evaluating my own builds...if it's not maxed, I don't get to see how it truly performs against maxed Meta. OTOH, when I then do well, is thaf because it's a strong build or just because I out-levelled the opposition?

I am using glacier jumping Bullwark since jump module is out (no, that's a small lie, I used shieldbraker a first few weeks) without Tobias though.
Great setup. Jump gets you to places faster and helps as an evasive manouever (think Blitz). Double Nucleon might be even better but I am not leveling that.

Saves me from breaking my record of watching Manni for less than a minute. It's his standard stuff... avg opponents, selective footage. But when i see him running OP builds then I'd likely not posted them. This is something that "potential" will work with shotguns out of the picture and hawks everywhere. I'm not gonna lie, it's a cool concept. Especially with the jump cooldown of 6 seconds.

I'm running PS on my Redeemer Bully...this might be much more useful...and make Tobias worth the investment. Would suck to have to retrain a brand new pilot when mine is already max level though. Definitely gonna try it out. I used to run a variety of modules, but the Jump module is exponentially better than PS when combined with Tobias. It takes the cooldown from 20 seconds to 12, but since the first 3 or 4 seconds of the cooldown you are in the air performing the jump it effectively becomes an 8 second cooldown. Defensively it gets you the hell out of dodge, and as long you can keep your positional awareness, backwards jumping can save you better than PS. If you back jump into the wall, well I feel your pain brother. I’ve done a lot of jumps put of a bad situation where the aegis shield protected me long enough to get into cover near some friendly blues. Offensively it gets your bully to where it is needed PDQ.on a map like Dead City you get halfway across the map in one jump. I’ve been able to jump forward and steal the Red’s home beacon on Dead City/Factory/ Power Plant and then jump away out of the hotzone before the Red respawners come rushing in. Also it can function like a regular jump for targeting lurkers in cover, but I don’t think that’s a good use of powercells. I’d almost consider running with 2 x fortifiers and 1 Cloaking unit. Just to mess with the people who finally get through your shields only to cause them to lose lock-on.

Skill and a bit of realism vs pay 2 woo magic.

I am not gonna lie, it has been crazy expensive. But it has been in my hangar for two years now. But is my favorite and worth it to me. Slowly clawing its way to awesomeness. The pilot rework actually helped me. Since the last skill was iirc 7500 gold. This time around it cost me 2000. Plus the upgrades for that skill. I don’t have Tobias though. ? he is the reason for me not caring as much for all the stupid robot abilities that pics dishes out. Bully just eats it up. Except titans. He is not a fan of those.

Yes, all the way! Bully is one of those bots that is only decent at base level, but for every bit of resources you put into it you get a good amount of extra strength from it. Put on base fortifiers, a decent pilot and level the bot and weapons to 9 and it becomes brutal. Then if you take it a step further it becomes a BEAST. Honestly my favorite way to describe bully is a resource compareable bot. If you have tons of resources to pump into him then you can make him powerful. If you have a small amount it won't do too well, and it scales in between.

I built one. Maxed Tobias with all T4 6 HP/shield/speed skills and Mechanic, maxed Bulwark with one LVL 6 Fortifier (the other 2 are LVL 1), along with LVL 10 Nucleons. Combat monster and capable of super fast transport, but has 2 critical weaknesses: Point blank foes cannot be hit, as Bulwark's guns tilt down into the body and deal no damage, and Scorpion. Sure, you can juke them if your jump is ready (feels good pointing your legs backwards and literally leapfrogging them) but if they catch you with your pants down, you're toast. Past Jump, you have no evasive methods. I don't even wanna know how screwed Bulwark is with the Drones update. Turned my back on War Robots after that garbage fire got pushed to Live. They've got some nerve making a hugely expensive money-sink that needs both permanent resources (Ag/Au) and temporary or optional resources (Power Cells) at the same time. And the cost of these microchips, and the amount of them required to be fused together before they can be upgraded to a completely random other type of chip, not to mention there's FIVE of them?

That’s absolutely fine if you already have one and it’s a staple in your hangar. I’m talking about starting from scratch. The costs for anything now is a commitment. The amount of gold it costs is all of my stash. Even for 2 skills it’s more than half of it. It’s a great bot and I love how all the pieces are in harmony. It’s either I dump all my gold on it or I go for Skydriver Nightingale which is cheaper in gold.

Nah, not for me. Jumping bully with close range weapons maybe alright but I run avengers with sharpshooter. I have an Adrian Chong pilot with 8 skills, none of which are modules expert. The cost to switch would be too much to have a go at it. But hey if you want to make your griffin-like bully more raven like get this microchip. I run this on my bully with the lock down ammo module and 3 supressor microchips. It's good on the long rang maps.

Past Jump, you have no evasive methods. I must say this hurts. I made an entire thread on how to dodge without doing anything but walk. You literally step off to the side of where they are aiming and if you do it enough times you can survive an entire attack like that. I survived an entire leech attack like that with my mercury (aka the entire leech ability time). I also did exactly this with my bully TODAY, a scorpion attacking me, unable to get any good hits on me before the cavalry (my teammates) drove him off. It was a good 10 seconds of dancing before that happened.

When War Robots 101 intro to basic tactics are considered new. The state of War Robots 2020. The peek a boo my God mode ability is ready has really dumbed down the game.

Use a Quantum Radar with them and they will take juns down with ease (so long as you can aim em well). They aren't amazing at the titan killing but they are a great anti-bot weapon, and if you hit leeches, ares or hawks outside their ability then the health drops REAL fast.
