Hello, new to MA (started just 5 days ago). First off, I really appreciate all that has been shared about this game so far. Really helped me get started on the right foot.
Now, regarding my question. The tournament goes six days with Mondays off. On the other days I played, red tournament tickets were returned in various chests and crates but I do not see those red tickets on chests opened on Monday. So, for the purposes of attaining the maximum amount of free tickets, should chests and crates that are acquired on a Monday be saved until Tuesday? I cannot tell if these chests and crates get their contents when they are acquired or when they are opened. If the latter, then waiting could be beneficial in getting more tickets.
I was able to keep my tickets at a maximum level on Sunday then use won chests to add red tickets back after completing some tournament matches. Played many more than 12 matches without needing gold tickets.
Thanks for any advice here.
EDIT: The only exception on opening chests would be the Steel Chest in the store that pops up every 4 hours or so. I think that has to be claimed in order to restart the clock so it would appear that the Steel Chest has to be opened right away.

I think that has to be claimed in order to restart the clock so it would appear that the Steel Chest has to be opened right away. There are only 3 avenues to earn the maximum tickets each day for the tournament. Steel crates (as you've said) earn you maximum 6 tournament tickets. You can get these everyday except for Monday (with one minor exception that I'll mention later). Go ahead and claim these crates on Monday because you can't save them. You also get 3 tickets from 3 each silver crates each day. You don't get any tickets on Mondays from them, but you can save them to open on Tuesday. You'll still only get 3 tickets on Tuesday from them though. The reason to save at least 3 is to have tickets immediately available at the beginning of the day if you want. The last 3 tickets come from the gold chest you get from completing 5/7 of your daily tasks each day. You can't earn tickets from these on Monday but you can't carry it over either, so you might as well open the crate when you get it. Ok, so the ticket hack I've noticed (that's only partially unrelated to your question) is that you can earn tickets on Monday when everything resets at mid-night (CST for me) just before the tourney ends at 12:45. I'll open my first steel crate and voila (which is French for...and then I found out), I have 2 red tickets. You can use them in the current tournament, or you can save them for Tuesday when it starts again. I haven't tried this for silver chests yet or by completing tasks, but it's possible it could work. I'm usually exhausted at this point and ready to pass out. That said, it could work. I hope that answers your question.

Oof, thanks! Don't think I'll stay up that late even though I'm in Pacific time zone. 10 PM is still too late for me. Appreciate the help, Deadeye and mechtout!

you can save your gold daily task crate for when tourney starts late mon. You'll have one hour until the daily tasks reset Daily reset is 2 hours before tournament reset/start. The daily task crate will dissapear before tournament start. That is, unless the daily reset is always at midnight of that region's time instead of uniform across the game.

Ya my Daily challenges reset at midnight PST while the Tournaments resets at 11PM
