Sigh...I don't always make good decisions in life and especially in games. Anyway, yesterday, I wasn't feeling my best, but suddenly had this idea that I could rank up my Guardian and slap LA10 on it and then move my PC8 to my Ares and run it like a tank again, and move my MR8 to my Panther to do the Stasis/Apha Strike combo. Up til now, my plan was to keep saving my resources and get Carbine8 for my Jug. In a flash, I'd spent all my saved up credits and A-coins and then when I tried to slap on the LA10, found only one in my inventory and then remembered that Redfiend had already posted that you only get ONE LA10 until you max it out. Grrr!! So, long story short, I"m back to square one. I put all my mechs back to my preferred builds and I'm out of resources...again...Oh well, nice in this game is that it doesn't take that long to build up resources. But those Carbines...man, they're really expensive!

I hate when that happens! And don’t worry, it happens to all of us!

One LA8 and one LA10 would still work well if you have them

One LA8 and one LA10 would still work well if you have them Yeah, true, but I like symetry! Also, too is the fact that the Ares is a better sniper platform than the Guardian, and with MR8, the Guardian fulfills its role of tank killer very well. I think I'll just have to suck it up and re-earn my stuff again. The problem is, the Carbine 8 is like 8k A-coins...and the Cheetah is almost half that. Will I be able to resist getting the Cheetah?

I hear you on symetry! The devs should consider they have players with ocd too! i plan to ultimately run one railgun and one LA8 on my panther, so ok with LA10 as part of that evolution

Koalabear since you already upped guardian to 20 EN, get the Carbine 12 if you can. Pulse 8/Carbine 12 would shred.

They would take forever to save up for with in game currency and are too rich for my wallet! I'll make do with what I have. I still haven't fully given up on hoping for more Shadow blueprints. I really like the agility and speed of it and want to put RPG6 or MR6 on it as a fast in/out striker.

This and the SB12/PC8. ѻﻭɼﻉ tested this out for me yesterday and said it's impressive. A little better for range work. These will be good stop-gaps while the Panther/Guardian make their way to R5.

Just remember, if you want to spend nothing more than the occasional pocket change to supplement grinding, the $5 weekly deal for the Prodigy Crate and 500 coins is the best cheap purchase. The 24k creds and 240 blueprints add up to coins spent afterall. Expect Shadow to come out to the same price Cheetah is posted for. If it's rank up cost is anything like Lancer, it's 2500 coins to go from R3 to 4, and probably over 3k to go from 4 to 5. The rate at which upgrade costs hike up is why I'm taking the slow road. After I get ~everything~ to 3.7, I won't have to spend coins on anything but all of the rank ups. By the time I get the coins for the rank ups, I probably won't need blueprints or credits for quite some time. When everything hits 4.7, that's when I can spend the time cranking out high level tournament for Carbines and Railgun, because that's the threshold where I can actually use those weapons flexibly. It's a marathon grind, I like having different sets of shoes ?? Koalabear since you already upped guardian to 20 EN, get the Carbine 12 if you can. Pulse 8/Carbine 12 would shred. There's no real rush to the endgame, and weapon sets are limited until the absolute end game. The way I see it, after Rank 4, where bots officially pass the majority threshold of the health they're going to have, rank ups are a priority on bots depending on what weapons you can actually stick on them.

Surprisingly, the mechs do have different rank-up costs at the same level. I am pretty sure my KS and Ares were 1950 to move up, but I just checked and my Guardian is only 1250 (just got it to 3.7). I wonder what the difference in cost is for. I get weapon upgrade costs being different because of energy level. Not sure I understand the mech differences though. Ares and KS do have abilities that improve with Rank ups. That's the only thing that makes sense to me. I can't see why the Lancer would cost more than all of those though. huh...

DeadeyeOddly enough, it's because the rank up costs are tied to their power score. The total power of a slot is just the sum of a bot and it's weapon's power scores, right? Here's the fun fact about hangar power that I only realized recently: EVERY setup has the same power score at equal levels(give or take one or two points) if equipped to it's maximum energy limit. If all of your bots and weapons are at the same level, your hangar power is the same regardless of it's composition, as long as you're using all available energy on all of your equipped bots If Hangar power is factored by MM at all, it would use the *maximum* power you would be able to use, not what's currently equipped. With light bots, their low weapon capacity means their Chassis makeup more of their power score than medium or heavy bots. Because their Chassis is more of their power score, they cost more A-coins to upgrade. My guess is that cost difference is relative to the cost differences in ranking up weapons. Spend more on fastboi, but the weapon rank-ups are cheaper. Spend less on walking gun mounts because the rank up costs for the guns mounted cost more than their weaker output counterparts.

Wow, that makes sense from a numbers perspective and it's good that they considered this when thinking about balancing out overall cost to upgrade your hanger. However, in practice, that makes me even less likely to upgrade a light mech. It costs more and it has less energy capacity. Those are 2 negatives in my book. I completely understand that it means that the cost to upgrade weapons is less for that mech, but it means the mech is potentially less effective to me. Just my own thoughts on it. It also makes me more likely to continue with the current track I have of going with...

DeadeyeHas the AI started 5 capping you and beating you with an influence gap of 60 points yet? If not, they will, and you'll see the importance of speed. Remember, end game Light bot firepower is equal to your recent set of rank 3 tanks/killshot.

I just hit Division 1 and already I can see that the CPC mode is WAY harder than I was used to. I feel like I'm now losing more often than winning in that mode. That's probably why I play more Tournament these days...at least the first couple of days in a Tournament are fairly easy.

The game will throw the occasional hardball at you, but once it measures you up the difficulty flattens out. It doesn't get easier though ?? The hard cap tends to be 80% winrate. I'm at 1166/1704, if I win more than 5 or 6 in a row, a wall of Pulse 8/Carbine killshots and snipers will definitively sweep me a few times by 4 capping in the first 2 minutes, then breaking out missile rack/Stasis+Lance Tanks for wave 2 to make sure the influence bar runs away.

More games are really bad, enemy hangars are distinctly higher powered than your team’s, and AI teammates are worse than useless when it comes to team play and area control. It’s very demoralizing to be playing your butt off only to see one control point after another turn red and teammate numbers dwindle to one or two. I don’t know what the answer is, but I do hope they fix the lopsided AI situation soon.

I do occasionally get the late game shadow(s) that will take over. I do get the occasional 4-5 cap, but I'm able to stem that tide most of the time. My hanger power is about 1400 right now with 4 mechs. My matches when I run solo are almost all 2200-2700 AI. Not sure why they feel the need to throw the everything including the kitchen sink at me, but I still get in the top 3 positions win or lose the majority of my games. It's been this way for a couple weeks now. I assume that when I get my 5th mech and start getting Carbines, they'll really kick things into overdrive. I feel I'm holding my own right now though.

Screenshot the power screen and your profile and report it on the bug report channel of the official discord. 2300+ for a 14-1500 point hangar is an anomaly if it's all that shows up. Check your w/l rate as well. I fought those hangars for the better part of 3 weeks. The AI "normalized" and started to match my hangar except for when I break the 80% win rate, or get matched against a player with significantly lower amount of games played.

Not sure I need to report anything actually. This is a pretty common game. And this was the result. I still have a high win rate. My games are very competitive and if I screw up for a second, I lose a mech. Just causes me to be very cautious in my aggression.
