Since we've been talking a bit of messes, anyone seen the awful live action Mulan yet? To think I was so looking forward to it too. They had a good cast, but the directing was awful, the acting was robotic, the choreography stank (seriously with both Donny and Jet in the film??), and the effects were SOOOOO bad.

Nope.
I've been increasingly avoiding movies over the last ~5 years or so. Far less quality going into them beyond the graphics and sound.

Well... my only hopes are on this:
So far my hopes seem justified.
Even so, only when I can watch it at home. Screw movie theaters.

ⓣⓡⓘⓒⓚⓨ48: Ohh no! They picked him as a lead? Hollywood really has their flavor of the year don't they? For a while it was Bumblydict Bandersnatch (who I don't mind) and now it's this man-boy. OK, I'll se it anyway, but... Bonus: PInk Floyd in the trailer. Sweet.

I know the lead actress was a Disney star at one point and was in some crazy HBO teen shock drama, but that's it. Oh, and Khal Drogo is in there, lol.
*Shrug*
ETA: Yeah, anything that pays homage to PF I am all about... even a cover.

I didn’t hate the movie buuur it was made for the Chinese audience. I noticed that an inordinate amount of the dialogue happened when you couldn’t see the speaker’s mouth. That makes it a lot easier to have a version of the movie natively in mandarin...

I'm of Chinese decent myself...and I hated it. The movie felt like it was made by people who don't understand Asian culture or people. A lot of the actors seemed as if they were just there to collect a paycheque and nothing more. Never thought I'd be disappointed to see Jet Li in a movie for example.

Wow... they really made a dog's dinner out of it. How would you compare the acting to... well, the majority of Star Wars I - III? That movie series is my benchmark for "wooden" acting.

My family talked me into getting it a few weeks ago. Agreed, it was terrible.

Are you a fan of Jet Li? Are you a fan of Ming Na Wen from Agents of Shield? Imagine these great actors speaking their lines as if they were androids with no emotion and had their arms tied to their sides. It was that bad. Star Wars was fluid in comparison!

Really? OK... that shred of curiosity I had about watching it just burned to ashes lol.

Really? OK... that shred of curiosity I had about watching it just burned to ashes lol. Gasp! You don't know Marvel: Agents of SHIELD?? The show is like Avengers for TV, and it actually tied in with the MCU. Things that happened in the movies affected the show, and things in the show affected the movies. Here's some of Chloe Bennet's scenes as Quake.
