I would love to go for a ride in a modern fighter. I have seen the cockpit of an F-15 though. The best ride I ever took was on an aerobatics run in a Pitts S2. Didn't lose my lunch either! I came close to losing my lunch in a Cessna L-19 flying about 50 feet off the deck for an hour in the California desert in 110 degree temperatures. It was brutally hot inside the that aircraft. As a teenager, I was an Air Cadet and one year, I had the opportunity to spend six weeks doing the Senior Leader Camp (SLC), which was the super elite course for the Air Cadet and very tough. The winner of the grueling course got to ride in a CF-18. The winner that year DID lose his lunch! Me, I decided on doing six weeks on the Smallbore Rifle Coach Camp instead and had 6 weeks of pure fun. Never regretted it!

The Phantom:
My first Aviation crush.
Same here. Also my first ride in an aircraft, a RF-4C. It was the ANG 186th TAC RECON group out of Key field in Meridian, MS. Just F'n bad ?bum-bum?. I was in the CAP(civil air patrol) and we were headed down to Keesler AFB for our 2 week encampment. But the ANG guys were also doing their 2 week yearly stint down there at the same time. My dad was also in the guard there, pulled some strings and got me the ride down to Biloxi. All of the others in the CAP there were driving down there. It was a 3hr ride by car. I made itdown there in 45mins. LOL That is a great story... I bet that was as good as it gets without being in a proper unit! Very nice!

ⓣⓡⓘⓒⓚⓨ48, it was great. But it helped that my dad was the flight line crew chief. I left out the best part though. On take off, we were at about 50' off the deck. Just about the end of the runway, Col. Feinstein snatches the stick straight back and hit the afterburners. OMG, what a f'n kick in the chest. Went to 20k leveled off and was cruising just under mach. On the way down, we flew thru a MOA(military operations area) over camp Shelby. Did a few barrel rolls, loops and broke mach a couple of times. I have yet to have an experience like that again. Closest to it was a maintenance test flight I got to go on in the Concord. Oh those were the days.

Here is an old bird we painted at my old job(I'm a retired Delta AMT, 27yrs). It was for the"Confederate Air Force", well that's what they were called back then. Now called the "Commemorative Air Force". And it's little brother we painted as well. No telling what that pedal car(plane) is worth. The P-51 is a "D" model with the supercharged Allison V12. Just a 「deteriorated bum-bum」 aircraft.

Just... awesome.
Double the effect because I am a Mississippi boy too and can almost imagine the path in my head lol.

I've got a really strong stomach, but I'm old now and the G's in a Hornet would probably kill me at my age. I spent a lot of time in the 49th state flying around with some retired military people. I got to do some fun stuff there. My father use to shoot indoor small bore competition. I did that for a little bit but I liked shooting at flying clay disks a lot more.

I shot at clay disks once...it was on a high school trip. I was like 120lb soaking wet. Bloody shotgun nearly knocked me off my feet!
