Here is my hangar as of today, October 25 or something. Ares is my main bot and best bot. The MR6s at first just owned everything on the field. It still rocks hard against even Juggernauts, depending on level. I want to get MR8s but not sure if they are worrth investing in over MR6s. My other go to bot is Panther, when Ares occasionally gets killed. I have learned to face to my side when setting up the fence-shield, so it can protect me and team in the direction I want to attack. Fun bot on maps with choke points. I really like Shadow, though I switch him in and out depending on challenges and if playing cpc. A sneaky bot that hits hard. Guardian is my MR12 bot, with an rpg. Fun stuff to hit bots at 150-200+ meters. Though his ability wasted. Sometimes I put pulse cannons on him. Paragon I use when necessary for challenges. Right now I have him slinging rockets around corners with JR4(?). I switch Juggernaut and Guardian with Shadow and Ares for challenges, cpc. I do enjoy tank bots. I try various weapons on Jugg. JR4 is fun, pulse cannons are effective. Hes not levelled much so far. I am concentrating on levelling Panther and the MR6s. Taking the long view with Panther as brawler and support.

MR8 is a different and better beast to the MR6. Faster unload speed and more damage. Where I am in the game, MR6s are only really useful for maps where there is too much cover for Jav6. I find the MR8, Pulse8, Rpg6, Jav6 and LAs to be my mid game staples. Obvs YMMV.

reconnecting MR8 are a direct upgrade to MR6, and Ares/Jug have the 16 EN to use them at rank 4. Also, why is your paragon using such puny weapons ._.

You know, I haven't really figured out my set up, yet. Im not a huge fan of the pulse 8s, only because they take forever to deal their damage. I've noticed, though, that the ares shield generally lasts long enough for the pulse 8s. I might try and switch it up.

Yup... it's not quite ready to do that, but that's a great idea... good thinking. I will say that having that +15% accuracy on the 6s does narrow the gap between them and the 8s. How do you get +15% accuracy on MR6s?? I am pretty sure that I was talking bout pulse 6’s... Think it’s splash radius for MRs... iirc

The mainstays are the KS, the Jugs, and the Panther... those rarely change. This hangar is really good for Tourney and provides the most counters to the real players that tend to show up in my fights. I sometimes switch up the other 2 builds depending on the Tourney map, or if I move to CPC games... however, I ran several CPC games over the past couple days to finally get out of Div 4 and was pleased with the results.

I might try and switch it up. Honestly, I found Pulse 8s to work just fine on both bots... MRs too.
For me, I think it's a matter of preference.
What rank are your P8s? IIRC, they start at 3... right? I am pretty sure I got mine to R4 and that accuracy increase that occurs when you upgrade them helps a good bit. Also, what range are you using them at, for the most part? I try to stay within Optimal Range* and they have not been in any way lacking so far... hitting from flanks to get that damage multiplier is REALLY helpful, as well. Dropping off of platforms behind a Red is a pretty good time
*You may already know this... and if so please ignore it... but you can change the way the damage appears on your HUD so that when you are hitting them within the OR the damage is orange. It is white beyond that. Helps me to have a visual cue, so that I can only fire when most... well... optimal. Most times I don't shoot beyond that unless it's to suppress someone to keep them in cover, or to kill a crippled bot.

Updated hangar... so far this works in both modes, pretty well.
First, the KS... traded out one of the MR8s for a MR6 so that I could build the Guardian, and I can't say it's made that much of a difference, overall. Still is my favorite/best performing build when I get into the "zone":
Next, the Guardian. The 5th rank on the SB 12 made a pretty good difference as far as freeze rate... I am pretty satisfied with this build, which came as a surprise. I think this may stay semi-permanent. Very versatile when used with the Guardian's ability:
Ares. Still "testing" the Carb8 + PC8 combo. I will probably test other builds soon, but so far I am liking this pretty well. It definitely has downsides... but the upsides seem to be winning out.
Panther. I love this build. The TL4 at R4 is not that bad and heats up well enough to make it useful. I am debating on whether I need to hold out for the next Panther rank up so I can just replace the TL4 with a TL6, or just ranking up the TL4 again, to get as much out of this build at the EN level it is at... either way, it brings home the bacon.
Shadow. This build is fun. Not the best, def not the worst, but mainly it is versatile enough to fill me with confidence going into most situations.
Shadow, and Ares are the most likely to get rotated out for something else, lately. I've really gotten to like that Guardian build so I think I will keep it like that for a bit.
Any thoughts on these builds, pro or con?
EDIT: I neglected my RPG 6... what do y'all think... should I bring it to R4 or R5 and find a way to use them?
What kind of changes have y'all made?

1. Create two effective builds. The implication being you feel 2x PCs doesn't cut it, so at least now you have useful loadouts for two mechs. Or...
2. Create a more flexible build where you can use the difference in weapon ranges to your advantage?

TBH, I am still in testing mode on those. I will probably flip back to homogeneous builds soon, test some more, and then back.
But yes for #2, the initial reason was versatility... both in range and in firing type. The PCs are better out to 60 m and they also are more of a sustained/suppression weapon... while the Carbines are more "bursty", yet weirdly sustained, too. They also have different firing cycles, and since I like to do a lot of single weapon corner shooting, gives me plenty of faith that if I get caught flat-footed, at least one weapon can still fire. Also, I usually use both the Juggy and the Ares and they are both kitted out the same way, so it's a bit of a "making the Carbs stretch" thrown in there, too.
I don't think that PC8s suck at all... I will get them to R5, at the least. They are good. That R4 accuracy increase was noticeable... I imagine the R5 will be, as well.

Bit of a pig to put this together on the phone, so please excuse any formatting errors. This is my usual hangar. The Shadow gets swapped for a Guardian on a regular basis. Javs on the Killshot just work. I love MR8s too. If I get a second pair of MR8s, they'll spend a lot of time on this mech. The Jugg's shield gives the PCs time to work. Will get the PCs at least to rank 5. Think I'll replace the LAs with RPGs. My go to build. Love it. Zeph place holder probably. All bots at 4.2 except Shadow. They'll stay there until I get a 2nd pair of MR8s, a Zeph and some Carbines.

Torn about the LA v RPG choice. If I keep the LAs on the Panther, I find I rarely use it. With RPGs, I feel more comfortable being in the centre of the action, which is where I prefer to be.
Likewise, love MR8s on the Killshot, but Javs have that extra bit of flexibility. So, having both weapons free for that one Mech has to be the answer. As I love the Ares MR8 build, that means I need two sets of MR8s. Stands to reason.
Shadow is fun, but I don't get a big kick out of using it. Next up will be Carbine 8s which will go on the Guardian until the Zephyr joins the team.
Not a fan of lasers and the Railgun just seems so far away.

This is my current hangar. All gear are various flavors of rank 3. Killshot RPG: This is usually my first drop in either Tournament or CPC. I like the combination of range and burst damage on the RPGs as a complement to the bot's unique features. It is fast so it can sneak around the map and find mid- or long-distance firing lanes for the RPGs, while the burst damage means that in close encounters I can deal damage quickly before escaping to cover. Juggernaut TL/PC: Solid tank, I like this combination of weapons since the PC6s aren't great by themselves. Panther PC: PC8s are solid but I've been less happy with them on Panther lately. The setup still works decently but I look forward to getting MR8s for this bot. Guardian LA: Not as great at counter-sniping as Panther or Ares LA, but the Guardian's ability means that if needed I can stay alive in close-quarters exchanges more often. Lancer SG: So much fun running and jumping around enemies at extremely short range. While I almost always start with KS, I often will drop Lancer toward the end of the match to get some easy kills before the time runs out or capture an unprotected control point.

Still figuring out the game...loving my Ares! Ranked up my Lancer...waiting to get enough coin to get a Panther. Put Plasma on my Paragon...seems a good fit. Every once in awhile I pull my Lancer out (that just sounds wrong), and it’s a lot of fun. It’s one of the faster bots, which the devs have managed to make that feature actually useful against heavier, more powerful loadouts. Shotties have let me murder many mechs by simply running around them and then blasting where the sun don't shine. Gets amazing damage and works really well if I don't get caught out in the open by sniper fire or come up against too many people who focus me (but that can be said about anything else for the most part). And yes, I put my lancer where the sun don't shine, I said it so you don't have to think it!

Panther with MR 8s is my best bot, though today I am dropping it second. It gets me my kills in tourney usually, and I place the electric fence to protect teammates. KS with Jav 6s drops first today as AI can be a beyot*h. Shooting from cover is very desirable when AI is on a rampage. Ares with MR 6s is there in case I need it (see AI rampage). It gets kills/assists and has dat shield. Shadow is able to get behind enemy lines and harass red spawn. Jav 4s on Shadow, shooting from cover again. The bot is fast and fun to play, while also getting beacons in cpc. Juggs has PC8s at the moment. Bot of last resort in tournament, but mostly a bench warmer. I use him more in cpc to protect beacons. When I have a challenge to get x damage with a weapon I will often put them on Juggs. Love dat shield with fast recharge btw. Today I will use M.D. for awhile in place of Shadow, to get an M.D. challenge done. Keeping the Jav 4s on it as it's squishy.

I used to get the Prodigy Crate + 500 A coin deal every week... and bought some of the early "get started" deals like the Ares + PC deal, for example. Occasionally I got a few A Coins to finish an upgrade. And then I had a gift card that I used for the Carb 8s ( the biggest thing I purchased). The Carb 10 was unlocked with Acoins from tournament winnings, though... had a good run of a lot of wins there for a while.
Now, since they changed that 500 coin deal to the Amateur crate, instead, I'm on a little mini-boycot and will just play with what I have and what I can unlock. Not playing very much due to real life has made the Tourneys a lot harder to win since climbing divisions and the recent change in their MM making bots harder and real players more prevalent... I can't sit there and go on a battle to get 1st with someone who can put out 4k Tourney points... it's just not feasible. I'm happy with the change though, as the games aren't just farming fests anymore. Lots of nail biters, lately.
I'm a collector and want everything... but I've had to put that idea on the shelf for now and am focusing on r5-ing all my favorite stuff... and then will see what's calling for that R6 treatment.
So yeah I went hard on the accelerator out of the gate, but it's time to coast for a bit, now lol.

A 2nd copy of a weapon is only supplied when reaching Rank 6 on weapons EN10 and above. You can pseudo double your MR8s by using 1 on two different mechs then having a Thermal Lance on the other weapon slots. The overheat will double the damage output. I often do this setup on a Killshot and Zephyr.
