This morning on Carrier I was holding down the red home beacon with my Nightingale on the lane of three beacons. Status: Abused, all 3 weapons, Last Stand spent. Blues had 4 beacons so I was just flying Combat Air Patrol keeping an eye on all three. I was on the ground with binoculars out when *poof* a Scorpion gets behind me. I spin around and let the Frigidaire load fly. He's like, "Too costly." *blink* I spin around, "Where is he...where is he..." Ah! Around 400m out. He starts walking toward me from under the huge ramp. He gets to 349m.... he's looking right at me... wait for it... and I see his tail go up. I hit the fly button, he poofs in to where I should have been and he blinks back. Waste of his ability and I prevented him from harassing somebody else. Fun stuff. Minor tactical victory.
What I SHOULD have considered is immediately flying to where he departed from and maybe get a few freeze missiles off at him. I might have won since he would have no DR. Lesson learned.

Ahhh, that tail movement is the key! Good reminder.

I’ve had the experience a few times of walking around in my Nightingale and then getting abused from behind. Hit the fly button and turn around to see a Scorpion wondering where his dinner went.
Nightingales on the ground are just a very poor target choice for Scorpions. Either they’re leveled up enough to hurt them real bad with cryos or tasers, or they’re going to fly away before the Scorpion can inflict fatal damage. And if they fly away they’ll start suppressing the Scorpion either at the ambush site or the blink back spot.
However, very useful to know that the tail goes up before the blink.
