I wish the Pilots' stories weren't so successful

Okay, if you like backstories so much, I'm sorry if you feel insulted.  I'm just ranting.  Please enjoy the game for what it is.

Because many players like the story of the War Robots universe and everyone in it, it gives Pixonic something to brag about.  "We are sooooooo good and creative, we care so much about making this a good game, we've even come up with very imaginative stories about pilots for your viewing pleasure!  Find out what happens to Kyle Rogers!  What's this?  Olga now calls herself Iskra and pilots a scorpion...what a story that will be!!  (Sure, we now make you pay extra for pilots, but don't you just love these amazing stories we've come up with?  What a great game you're playing!)

I wish the stories weren't working (and they are working.)  I would love to see 90% of the players saying "We don't give a hoot about these stories."  I'd love to see Pixonic saying "Oh, what's this?  People don't like these stories.  They don't like our creativity.  Looks like we aren't so clever after all.  We spent all this time for nothing.  Let's impress them the way they want to be impressed."  It's just one way we could see Pixonic eating humble pie...
