This looks insane. Note the scale down left? Some pixels are the equivalent of half a kilometre. Now, imagine how big this 「dookie」 is. Damn.

We all should have known this would happen. Pix went beyond just being a Dumpster fire.

We all should have known this would happen. Pix went beyond just being a Dumpster fire. and that, ladies and gentlemen, is what happens when Pixonic owns a completely broken game. Their own country is on fire

Siberia has reached temperatures never seen since records have been kept particularly above the Arctic Circle. It got to 100.4 degrees F this year. Incredible! That will dry things out enough to get these fires going. The big worry is the peat. Once that starts burning below the surface, it could burn for decades plus peat releases many greenhouse gases once thawed contributing to climate change.

The permafrost will melt even more causing sinkholes and release more methane.

Accident on the set of Stan’s new cooking show? Stan must've been cooking with Shocktrains again.

Wow I'm surprised I missed this in the news.... These images are insane. I guess I could research it a bit more before asking, but ?whiskey tango foxtrot? happened, how'd they start? I know it's record heat but how'd they ignite so widespread... lightining? They're everywhere!

I know it's record heat but how'd they ignite so widespread... lightining? They're everywhere! Generally the same way as most forest fires, lightning or human-caused. It's just during record heat, like you said, so more are catching/spreading. But some are believed to be "zombie fires" from last year or earlier. Apparently some fires can last throughout the winter feeding on the methane and high carbon-content of the permafrost: eos.org/articles/the-rise-of-zombie-fires
