I've been running my Fenrirs a lot lately and I stumbled unto a trick to evade burny Ao Jun death - what I consider to be the bot's greatest weakness.
It's pretty simple, really: run Phase Shift instead of Repair/Advanced Repair Unit.
Why?
Because the biggest problem with the Fenny in my experience is not getting ganked by the flying 「dookie」birds from hell when your weakling Aegis shields inevitably vanishes under their deathvomit assault while you scramble to run to cover. That leaves you with 2 bad choices: continue in mobility mode and see your health vanish as your DR is disabled OR switch to assault mode... and see your health vanish as you are too slow to run away.
This is where Phase Shift comes in: if you see an Ao Jun bearing down on you, switch to mobility mode and head for cover. Once your shield drops, engage Phase Shift BUT REMAIN IN MOBILITY MODE - that will give you a chance to get to cover while avoiding burny death. Once PS runs out, engage assault mode. By that point, either the Ao Jun has disengaged and you should avoid almost all damage, or he is still chasing you, meaning you'll take a little damage but he'll come out of stealth right next to you, where you can easily suprise-sex it.
This little trick is making running Fenrirs A LOT less frustrating. It still requires sharp situational awareness because it is still too slow to escape being chased by multiple reds but lone AJs are not so much of a problem anymore.

Thanks for that. I just started running my Fenrir again and am experimenting with builds and play styles. I started using Advanced Repair and that did make a difference in how long I could last in the bot. I'll give Phase Shift a shot. Heck, I've got more than enough Power Cells!

The bot's got a bit of a learning curve. If I can be of any assistance in your wolfish adventures, don't hesitate to reach out.

PS means I'll just want to roast you more without surprise healing catching me with my pants down. I'm more worried about Adv Heal TFalcs and Fenrirs than Phase Shifting ones.
