Personally I find redeemer Ao Jun to be fairly useful, not anything else like Glaciers or embers because slow unload. Redeemers deal a lot of one-punch damage, and they reload fast too. The built in flames probably not gonna do much though... Also, you might wanna upgrade the redeemers to lv7 up cus ravanas have A LOT of damn health those things annoy the hell outta me... But what do you do when they get up on you point blank when you are out of your ability? That is the problem with the Ravana. It can wait out much more powerful abilities of Leech, Ao Jun and Ares and then confront them at point blank while they are out of their ability. As someone who uses Phase Shift to 'turn off' the abilty of Ao Jun , Leech and Ares for the duration of Phase Shift when they attack me so I can waddle into cover, I can see how powerful the Ravana ability can be against these horrible ?dookie?bots as a built in multiple Phase Shift ability bot. a) go to red with broken ability that it relies to operate because reasons/incompetent b) activate built in Phase Shift ability repeatedly to ignore whatever weird magic is happening c) kill opponent once their ability is over d) repeat This is what tanks, ambushers or groups are for. If you have no limit on how long your protection can last (tanks) then the ravanas only real strength disappears. This is because the ravana is only average in firepower, speed, and health. Titans fill this role as well. If the ravana is distracted or reloading its ability then you can easily hunt it down with an ambush bot and slaughter them. Most often ravanas will have to take shelter near your side of the battlefield since they have to use most of their charges getting to and surviving in the fight. This makes them especially weak against ambush bots, so if you can get to where they are and preferably avoid notice then you will get them for sure. And finally, a group of people is what kills this bot the easiest, that short time out of PS for them to fire is usually enough for a group to mortally wound this bot most often giving it a limp or taking a weapon off. Stick with your teammates and try some tanks, maybe use some ambushers (I have had great success with mercury) if you can handle them well and your dealings with ravana will be far easier and most often result in wins.

I have no issues downing high level Ravioli with stock MG Titans (any).
Other ways include DB and PDB, Leadhose, Flames, Tazer, pretty much anything that can sustain high amounts of DPS.
The shotguns actually fall flat very quickly, and are not that dangerous after initial burst. Even with transcendence he only gains a shot or 2. He would be much better off with Scourges or Atomizers.

Update on my personal encounters with ravanas...
I find fading against ravanas to be extremely affective. Stay out of point blank range. If you have lock down, even better.
Also fun, run straight past them and don’t engage at all. Keep moving on to the next enemy

In my prime hangar sits a 2.4 Ivory Ravana with 2.12 storms piloted by Poe. But I have a perfect counter in the same hangar which is the 2.4 Tyr with 2.12 Scourges and 2.4 Shredders. With that I can go close into the fight (1 on 1) - the trick is to maintain the lock-on and fire as soon as he comes out of the special ability. If he hit's you hard, you can try to heal while he's hiding (ability) but you still have your scourges ready all the time. Kind of a dance - but if you manage it, you'll win the fight. Of course against a highly skilled Ravana pilot it could be different - fortunately most pilots aren't.

The definition of an overpowered bot: Players recommend to team up against it.
With my limited arsenal, staying out of range is the only thing that works. I run 2 Scourge Ares, and I tend to open with them now, and play them as midrange/support. Really the only way to survive against all those Leeches, Phantoms and Ravanas.

My best counter to the disco bot so far. 1 on 1 its no contest as the Calamities pack a huge punch the closer they come. Running dual thermonukes and Lockdown Ammo. Of course its all a matter of timing with fangs out (huge risk/huge reward) - just gotta watch the ability and hope Pixo$ticks doesn't jack up your aim lock.

Best weapons: flames and tasers. Best bots: Phantom, Ao Jun, Leech Honorable mention: Corona Ravana. You want very high level Coronas, and do the Ravana shuffle while they reload.
Dark horse: Strider with freeze rockets. You need to be skilled in using cover, and not too heavy on the trigger. The bot and weapons should be significantly higher level than the Ravana you're fighting. If you can isolate him, you can own him.

Honorable mention silver builds for low leagues and crazy people.
Thunder Punisher Natasha for 1 on 1. Works against Storm Ravana. Pepper him from a distance to entourage him to come at you and burn abilty charges to do so. Hold your ground but do back peddle as he gets close but keep some distance to avoid the high damage at point blank of the Storm. Phase Shift right when he goes in for the kill. Wait for him to then activate the ability again and burn any remaining stored charges. Ravana will now activate ability only as they are generated. Nail it with Thunder and Punishers between ability activations. You can save your Phase Shift to counter his last scam but you will take the brunt of the Storms in the opening attack though.
Leadhose Griffin. Keep your distance and hose the Ravana down between ability activations. Do not let it get point blank on you while you are in reload. Be mindful of your trigger time. Only tap the fire button occasionally to maintain the high fire rate while it is transing out. Position correctly and save the jump to be able to jump away to put distance between you and the Ravana. You have the advantage at range. He has to get very close to do any damage with Storm. Typically you don't want to 1 on 1 a Storm Ravana. Hose it down from a distance and burn a full mag while it is going after teammates. Reload and be ready for it as it singles you out and makes its approach after having burned stored abilty charges.

Kinda off topic, but what league are you in? I rarely see people running silver bots around nowadays. I’m deep in Champ League and I see Pattons and Natashas and Stalkers and Gareths and Leos and such all the time. It has been like this since the merger, and I feel sorry for them I can always tell when I'm fighting someone on android or amazon, Because no ios player would think a leo is viable in champions league FFA. They make nice snacks though. Now not all on those other platforms are weak, but usually when someone is weak, they're not on ios. Just my experience. Had some nearly 5 million damage games recently due to easier kills + overconfident ravanas who don't think I can counter them in my Storm Leech, news flash, I can.

Do you see more Leos in FFA when a Skirmish is going on? The FFA button gets bumped into the same place as DOM when there is a skirmish. I've hit it more than once by mistake and just played a the game rather than bail. It's a garbage game mode though. All anyone does is run and cower away until their ability is ready and then they want to fight a lopsided battle against someone who has already used their abilty and is in the process of cowering. Whoever uses their abilty last wins. Its literally Who Poop Last the game mode.

1,2,3,shoot. 1,2,3,shoot. 1,2,3,shoot. Phase Shift. Shoot. 1,2,3,shoot. It helps if you silently say “Ravana” in between each count. 1 Ravana, 2 Ravana... You could use the classic ‘Mississippi’ but that’s not very War Robots-ish. lol great tip kinda funny too, gonna try it out to see if it works

The skill is 25% longer so it works out to 5.6 seconds, so I just start shooting at 5 nuh uh get your math right kid, its 4 seconds PS is normally 3 seconds 25% more is not even a full second but since it lasts maybe a quarter or a half of a second longer than proposed it winds up being just over 4 seconds about 4.25 seconds

I try to counter what they are trying to do by staying as elusive as they are on the beacon circle, dashing when they fire or turning my shield. The encounter takes long enough for teamates to arrive and get some cover fire while I engage them. I also anticipate where they are heading and set myself on the beacon before they do. They are good at it in large maps like Springfield but you can see them coming a mile away so you know which beacon they intend to get. I didn’t specifically set out to counter them by set up, but I’m equipped to take them on, mostly. You run Bulgs. How does pointing the shield at a Storm Ranava and zapping it with Scourge work for you in a one on one against Storm Ravana? Obviously you understand the technique of pointing the shield at opponents while firing the Scourge given how well you do with the dash bots. I am curious how some of the older meta builds fare against the Ravana. The Ravana seems to be built to beat the bots that only fight with the use of an over powered abilty. Ao Jun Greeks, Leech, Phantom, Blitz with magic pilot ect.

Ao Jun Greeks, Leech, Phantom, Blitz with magic pilot ect. At the time that I wrote that post Ravanas were sporting various loadouts, primarily split between Cryo and Storm, and maybe Igniters. With Cryos I can employ the strategy above, but Storms is a different animal and has become the go-to loadout since then. Bulgasari can’t hope to hold the beacon long against storms, it breaks the shield like it’s not even there. So what I do is use range for them to make them start their gold train early. By the time they get to the beacon I’d have to give it up and play attrition: corner shooting and dashing to keep that edge as long as possible, hopefully before long I’ve pulled them off the beacon and help would arrive. But that’s a one on one situation, more oftentimes than not it’s a team effort scenario and people are using many things to prevent them from totally dominating that beacon, like Nightingale holding beacon blue and plenty of Cryo burst damage around to hurt them blindsided. Not to mention other Ravanas. Storms doesn’t have the endurance to take on multiple targets in succession.

I forgot about BR. Yeah, DOM is easier to deal with the OP builds. You can play your range better then go recap the beacon and then own that space once the reds are gone. BR hasn't been playable since Specters or maybe Orkan Haechis.

I am appalled by the lack of knowledge here. Giving next to no recognition to maybe the best 1v1 bot in the game right now - BLITZ! That said, Ravana in its ultimate form (Poe, foolhardy, clever survivor) is still imo a top 1v1 bot that basically wins against anything if played optimally.
But the second best thing to go up against it, (apart from another Ravana) is a Blitz. And a Halo Vicious Blitz in particular. Maxed out, this is a 2M+ hp proposition for over 20 seconds(with deft survivor skill), with 6 suppression shots ON TOP of that. If Ravana doesn't have anti control, it is toast against Halo Blitz. Why Halo you ask? Well, contrary to popular wisdom about the nerf making it useless, it actually made it much better for some scenarios and bots(Loki) And fighting a Ravana is such a scenario - you need the most available initial damage and a guaranteed lock down.

It's fascinating to see the different approaches and thought processes as well as the resourcefulness of players using what they already have in inventory. I'm curious about the Blitz. Can't the Ravana simply activate its ability in a chain to outlast the Bliz DR or Ageis? The Blitz is very vulnerable once its ability is inactive. My understanding is that Blitz is the type of bot that is vulnerable to Ravana. Could you describe a typical engagement with a Ravana? Ravana work by getting a red to activate their ability and then simply waiting out their abilty and forcing close combat. Many of the bots that have these bonkers OP abilities rely on them to fight and are vulnerable when their abilty is in cooldown. Given the nature of the Ravana these bots are highly susceptible to the Ravana as they are played now. The Ravana sees them, runs at them and forces them to activate their ability to fight, trans out for the duration of their ability and then kills them. From what I am seeing is that tanky bots and bots that do not rely on their ability to fight paired with high DPM rather than high DPS burts weapons seem to be viable counters. I also think the use of Phase Shift to dodge that initial Storm or Cryo burst is beneficial. This is how I have always used my Phase Shift. To dodge Ares ?go solo? and Ao Jun murder flames/lock down and not to be invulnerable while I attempt to chain into the next ability activation because I don't have any abilities other than Jump Drive.

At least in DOM you have more time to prepare and outplay meta bots. Note: I mean when Invaders were top 5 bots in the game a year or so ago. Haven't touched BR regularly for ages now.

I'm also curious to hear everyone's thoughts on high DPS vs DPM weapons to counter Ravana. There are two schools of thought here.
High DPM but low DPS, sustained fire weapons so you can always have damage in on the Ravana between ability activations. You don't have to worry about wasting your burst DPS by firing when a Ravana in is trans because you don't rely on your DPS. On some weapons like Punishers and Avenger the 10 second reload can be a killer though.
High DPS burst weapons to get high damage in between ability activations of the Ravana. Expert timing is required or you are screwed.

I have high DPM weapons like Embers and Avengers which counter Ravs adequately enough for me to kill them without much trouble (provided they aren't maxed with all the bells and whistles). But I've also had success beating them up with high DPS weapons like Glory, Exodus and even Thunder. Ravanas try to get in close to smash you with high DPS weapons, so I just return the favour by carrying high DPS weapons as well to smash them back. You just need to time their PS since there's a slight lag in the visuals which give them an extra half second where it says they're in Gold Mode but actually aren't.

Do you have a legendary pilot and deft survivor skill? Edit: I misread, thought you wrote that you have Blitz. I currently run a Mk2 lvl4 Vicious Blitz with lvl9 Halos in mid champion league and the strategy vs Ravana is pretty straightforward..I come straight at it and activate the ability, hopefully suppressing it. At about 200m I unload 4 halos, while it fires back at me. If it is suppressed, I get next to zero damage(because I have around 2M hitpoints), while making a big dent in return.(note: 4 Halos and 3 suppression shots at max level can deal up to almost 300k damage in just 3 seconds) The Ravana usually transcends after that, which is perfectly handy for Halos to reload. After 10 seconds my ability is used, and Ravana can hit me properly, but I can counter this with my active ability, if needed. At the time I try to save my shotgun salvo until my health drops to 50% so I can use the ability for the second time(deft survivor skill) This all basically means Ravana has to fight invulnerable Blitz for 8 seconds (if it is suppressed, it really doesn't even scratch the Blitz) and a Blitz with enormous hitpoint value for 20 seconds, while recieving damage and using up its transcendence. There. Hope I was clear enough.

To dodge Ares ?go solo? and Ao Jun murder flames/lock down and not to be invulnerable while I attempt to chain into the next ability activation because I don't have any abilities other than Jump Drive. Do you have a legendary pilot and deft survivor skill? Yes and no. I play silver bots with silver weapons. My pilot skills are focus on speeding up the bots, making the bots more durable, repair and specialising in the weapons with either shot grouping or damage boosts. The only ability I have is Jump Drive and that is just used to positioning, dodge and to escape into cover.
