*I put this in Rants because some might perceive it as such. It's just an honest assessment.*
I used to want an Ao Ming, but now I don't because it encapsulates everything that's broken in this game. I used to feel the same about Ares and Ao Jun, but I have learned to effectively counter them and they aren't as bad as before. It may sound as if I'm taking the moral high ground, but from the ground, they don't seem fun. Some time in the future, I'll roll out my Ao Jun or Ares just for variety sake but I don't want to be one of those who relies on META to survive. Where's the fun in steamrolling your competitors? If there were some challenge, besides getting the resources to max one out, to piloting a French Ao Ming I might consider it a decent bot. Low-level Ao Mings are fun to shoot and I have no problem with that. I just don't see the luster. People can't even show off as being original, because there are so many in Champs. It's almost a prerequisite if you're in a clan in Champs League.
No, thanks. You can have 'em. I'll save my Platinum for something interesting.

At this point, very little in this game is either fun nor interesting.
Pix has killed the fun in pursuit of riches.
I play just to troll most of the time.....no longer care about wins, who has what bots, or death squads.....because it doesn’t matter.

Two comments: First - 3100 Pt and climbing. Second - I just go with the flow with bots. I run an Ao Jun and an Ares is my main hanger. Sometimes I do well and other times not so well. There are so many of these bots running around it is not like I am some OP player wiping everyone out. The unbalanced matches I see are “death squads” where I imagine they are all boosted so an extra 10% of everything so it does not matter what you run, crazy matches where for some reason teammates do not understand the concept that you have to have beacons to win, and to affirm your comment matches where blues are doing well until three red Mings take flight and it is game over!

Ditto, I'm at 2900+ platinum and counting. I suspect the design of Titans means there will never be all that fun an option - they're just too big. But I want something more interesting than the current offerings. And I don't get the appeal at all of just hovering at 600m range for most of the match, game after game. I kinda get how the players who always squad would want them just to counter the other squad. But all the solo matches where people just drop them 2 minutes in, why would you spend $1000s for such a boring experience?
FYI, I've found Ao Juns can be pretty fun once you get Road Hog on them. But not before that. One you get some ground speed, you can play them like a Bulwark, except you can then pick up and fly halfway across the map to flank everybody. That's when it gets good.. Sticking the landing can get interesting too if you're adventurous with it. But the actual flying and flaming people in stealth is pretty lame.

I was at 1000 pt, one game my kid got wiped out by an Arthur so I went and rage bought an Arthur. And levelled it up. One of the few decisions I don’t regret.

Oh, I think there can be a lot of joy in monstering other players. I definitely have gotten a thrill from erasing a full/nearly full health bot with one barrage of maxed RDB rockets, for example. It's what we work for when we develop leveling-up strategies. But I agree that there are some edges that are pushed a little too much. Plasma Ao Mings that can go 500m-600m out from Carrier and still turn the tide of battle while almost nothing on board can touch them is a good example.
I also think that Pix painted themselves into a corner with a long-term, skilled, heavily invested player base that can (probably) max out a new meta bot within a day of release just on their saved resources alone, not even taking spending into account. I think there needs to be a Titan League and there needs to be some other divisions that can compete at different levels.
I mean, imagine a formalized 6-Pack game mode. Enter it and your whole hangar, regardless of what level above L6 it is, is rolled back to everything being L6 as long as you're playing in that mode. That could be cool.

If somebody wants Ao Ming I don't mind. To each his own. What I object to is the mentality that everyone feels they have to get one just to keep up or prove how cool they are.
If I play against Champs the game inevitably ends with 4 or 5 Ao Mings floating around.
For me I feel the Ao Ming's lack of area attack is a problem. No stove or powerblast. Lokis can run beacons with impunity ... at least until Titan Quantum Radar is a thing.
PS I have two accounts so I have two Titans: Kid and Arthur. Unless the AM is highly leveled my level 10 rockets or machine guns make quick work of most Mings.
