Just wondering what Pilot Skill to take for my Carnage, and let's say I can only pick one of the two. Which one do you guys recommend? Ideally explain with a reason if you can be bothered.
Cheers fellow Pilots (I know Pix wants us to call ourselves commanders, but since we're the ones driving, we're the pilots as far as I'm concerned).

I have Crazy Electrican except I'm more of a Weird Electrician than crazy.
It would weekend on how you run your carnage. One gives you more energy shield and one gives you quicker recharge.
Is the cooldown still 「fluffernutter」ed up? If it is and you're a cover to ambush to cover and wait then you already need to wait to hit the magic button anyway.
Do you find yourself wishing you had more energy shield or are you waiting for it to recharge before ambushing again?
I would need to play the Carnage more to find out how I would play it.

I'd suggest just spin for 50 Au and take whichever pops up first...the net effect is very similar...Ancile recharge is X% per Second, so the more you have, the faster it recharges anyway.

Cooldown is all fixed thankfully. Back to 20sec cooldown rather than the monstrous 30. And I don't know, there's no particular style of play I really stick to. It all depends on the guy I'm facing. Sometimes I go all in and dance him to death. Other times I have to bait them into using their superior ability and run away to attack again. And other times I shamelessly run away altogether ? And do I wish I had more shield or more recharge? I have no idea to be honest. My reasoning is that if I had more shield, I can tank more splash weapons. But if I had more recharge, I can still tank more. Really have no idea which would be more useful in actual play.

Thanks, I'm starting to lean towards this more and more. But I'm just waiting to get more information from more experienced guys to see what they say.

Crazy Sparky will only let you tank more splash of the splash is dribs and drabs like Hydra Spam. I think it you are wanting to tank more I would go the Expert skill. That should let you weather more of a barrage. Both would be Perf.

For buly, I would go with the shield expert (capacity over rate of charging) because aegis has to be switched off to be charged. For haechi, carnage or any bot with ancile, fractional increases on capacity or charging rate make only a little difference under burst fire unless coupled with the fortifier module. Only then, either skill will be equally useful. To determine which provides better protection for given time, you should use ancile stats for both skills separetly. To this end, you should pick at least one reference weapon and factor in the shield consumption rate.

But my guess is neither alone will be effective against cryo weapons, especially the monstrous glaciers.

Just for fun I been trying this build: You can use Viper or Avenger. A high level Carnage + High level Ancile + A Basic Fortifier can make you survive an attack of a Titan with machineguns. I don't have any skills for my Carnage right now. And just for curiosity I did some calculations. Carnage Mk.2 (89,400) Energy Shield + Ancile Mk.2 (131,00) = 220,400 220,400 Multiplied by: Carnage Shield Expert (20%) Ancile Shield Expert (15%) Max Fortifier (20%) 220,400 x .55 = Whopping 341,600

I would go for the Expert skill. Having more shield is a good thing when racing around in a Carnage. Or you can get both, like my Bulwark has. ;-)

The answer for me? Can’t go wrong having both! I also sport 3 Fortifers, my only premium modules ever.......just can’t afford to upgrade them so they make Bully fierce, at 125 million Ag each......

I was using a fortifier and crazy e on my Carney. Still had to find cover but the recharge was great. By the time I assessed what to do next, it was full again. I was using it as a Titan counter. It was moderately successful. It was very hit and run, the Titan guns take down the ancile fast.
The shield expert is probably similar. I got the crazy on a random roll.

Physical Shield, Energy Shield and Crazy Electrician will be the first skills I get. I run tridents on mine with quantum radar and level 1 fortifiers (only 2 at the moment, soon to be 3).

I think for most folk that is the better option... but, for, a niche build that is focusing on one thing like being a Pantheon killer or a stealth defense role, anything that depends on an active module... the Legendary Pilot skill might be pretty good (25% faster module recharge)... especially if in conjunction with Modules Expert (makes the effect last longer by 25%). I don't know if it allows you to stack Dodger (does the same as the Legendary Pilot skill so 50% faster recharge if they can stack) on top, but if it did, AJs and Lokis might be a good bit easier to handle. Again, though, prolly not best for the GP roles most folk would use on it. IMO, YMMV

I hadn't thought of modules expert, though its not really necessary the tridents do enough damage in 6 seconds but I might get it next all the same. I did random rolls and got physical shield expert on the 2nd roll.

I voted for energy shield expert only because a bigger energy shield pool gives you more time to get to cover. I used to run a trident carnage and it had plenty of time to regenerate its shield while it reloaded.
