I'm curious which bot/loadout would you credit as the one that helped make you a better pilot and why?
For me it was the Thunder Schutze. It taught me how to time my shots, strafe, draw opponents (geps) in, ambush, and be patient.

Thunder Schutz - tick Carnage Thunder - tick My favourite at the moment: Griffin - hated it now starting to love it - hard learning curve but it's taught me good weapon range and use of jump out of (not into) attack.

Yup, I know what you mean. I used to use jump mostly offensively.

Pinata Gepard. Taught me to be aggressive and not afraid to run up close and dance through reds. Also situational awareness.
Then a Rocket Golem (Trident Tulumba Pin) taught me midranging and how to work a slower bot.

Rogue-atka (Surprise) really upped my timing and accuracy, especially when I started using it against heavies. And Zeus Carnage also taught me to use cover and movement effectively.

Arty natasha,it taught me how to be a camper,it also made me famous among both blues and reds.
Cossack, first one to teach me to use jump as an escape route especially that I now use a stuka griffin.
Thunder carnage, taught me never to engage shield bots unless they are distracted.

Patton. Mostly because it was my first Medium ever. The stock Ecu shield made me learn positioning to use it quick and the squishy and slow bot made me learn mapping and predicting lol.

I love that config. Beacon capper and powerful enough to hold the opponents side beacon when you get there.

Aphid Gep. If you can stay always on move, keep awareness up and time your moves - it'll wreck almost any opponent (*)
*-does not apply to sniper polluted regions of Yama and Springfield

Griffin both mid and knife setups, and i'm still learning a lot exp that i have to use jump to get out of fight not in! Thunder schutze that that is helping me a lot getting better with carnage and also is teaching me how to run a capper and battlefield awarness when running. Thunder/pinata Leo that theaches me how to shoot rockets and also the fact that also if you have double hp of your enemy you still die fast if you are dumb!

Pinata Patton. Slow, high reload, made it obvious to me that you need to continue aiming until all damage has registered - even after the animation shows all rockets have left the weapon (that was definitely counter-intuitive!).
Cossack. Corner shooting is essential to winning 1v1.
Rhino. I used to advance too far in every bot (and then retreat), but not being able to back up easily drove the lesson home.

Cossack. ECU and Taren. Extensive use of the ECU Cossack when I was first starting to beacon capture made me comfortable moving around the battlefield facing any direction, because I was always turning my ECU towards the enemies. I also learned corner shooting, as a means of offense without taking too much damage. Both skills see daily use with my Gareth/Galahad/Lancelot(s).

Golem for bait and switch tactics and corner shooting.
Gareth for running blind backwards and learning to be situationally aware.

Anytime you encounter a bot/setup in battle that gives you trouble, running that bot/setup yourself is a great way to gain insight into how to defeat it.
