Yeah that's annoying seeing that my post is tagged and I go to check it out and it's some guy saying to 'knock off the personal attacks' and it's like 「whiskey tango foxtrot」 how do u possibly not understand it's a joke. I think the new generation of annoying internet forum members r in the form of PC cops as opposed to cussing spammers. Just a change of times. I guess it's not all that worse A member on this forum called someone else an "idiot," then wondered why we didn't get the joke. I'll agree that we won't get it right 100%. This is the internet, notoriously poor for conveying expression and context clues that can make the true meaning of something plain. But we can only swing at the pitches we get. If it's not clear to us that it's a joke, then it's probably not clear to others, either. And so it looks like an insult, and reflects on the board. So the guy who sees an "insult" left unchecked on the board concludes- naturally- that it's okay, so he goes and insults someone too. When he gets a warning, he'll wonder- naturally- why he got a strike and the other poster didn't. Those mods are so inconsistent!So we do our best. In cases where it's a grey area- which are most- we all come together and discuss it before acting, so it's not like one guy just read it wrong and had an itchy trigger finger. And I personally try to skew lenient, and give folks the benefit of the doubt. But there it is. In fact, if someone is saying 'knock off the personal attacks,' it's cutting folks a break by giving a general caution rather than pulling out the ticketing book. |

I got 50% for being a jack ?bum-bum?, and calling someone a snowflake. I didn't know everyone starts out with it. Everyone starts out at 0%. Honestly, the number is arbitrary and almost irrelevant. It's just a marker that someone got an official warning. 30 days of grace and it's back to 0. |

National flags: Not a damn thing wrong with 'em. Almost everyone on God's green earth has a nationality they're a part of, and cause to be proud of that. Wave 'em high and proud if that's what you'd like to do. There's nothing inherently political in a flag itself. Pepe: Sorry, that's political. I know it didn't exactly start out that way, but whether you agree or not that's where it ended up. There are a thousand forums where you can argue politics to your heart's content. This just doesn't happen to be one of them. Even a simple avatar sends a message. Someone above mentioned the swastika, which is a good example of how a simple avatar image would send a message and divide the community. Personally, I'd love to be able to discuss politics in the Rants forum, which I'd like to see relaxed in terms of rules enforcement. But it's not up to me, I'm just one voice amongst several. And perhaps I'm oversharing here, but for the avoidance of doubt, I'm not hammering Pepe because I'm some "triggered" liberal. I'm on the right, politically, but I know a land mine when I see one. This is a game forum, end of. Honest question...what happens if a player's name is politically/racially motivated and they join the forum? |

And we'll change it back to a generic username. That wasn't always the policy- in the past it might get set to something embarrassing, but that is (thankfully) no longer the policy. |

To add to what Dredd has already said, please note that things are MUCH more "by-the-book" since we have moved to the new forum and the explosion of new folks on the forum. We knew Pix wanted to work with us, and had been in contact with them for awhile. But even we were pleasantly surprised to find a link in-game.
Please also note that aside from all the comments about being "international" and "professional" (things which I totally agree with), the original wiki and forums have always operated with the understanding that this game is playable by kids based on the ratings given by both App Store as well as Google Play. As such, we decided to try our best to make it PG.
Regarding Pepe, I was totally clueless about what it might represent to certain folks since I am not American. But the Americans on the mod and admin team had their differing opinions on it and it was decided that since our agreement was to keep religion and politics off the forums, we would adhere to that.
With the great influx of new folks, I appreciate Dredd a lot for doing so much since he came on board the team. Many of the core team have been doing this for a long time and the enthusiasm and energy Dredd brought was very helpful for a group which had nearly burnt out just moving the forum here from the main wiki site. We faced a lot of resistance from the old guard when we moved, but I think we can now see that the right decision was made. With closer control of how the forum should look and the multitude of customization options available to us, this new forum is definitely a breath of fresh air from what we used to have.
Thank you all for making this community what it is, and please do understand that our team walk a very fine line between freedom and professionalism. Sometimes we veer one way or the other, but please do be patient with us as we try our best to do what we can with the limited free time we have when we are not dealing with real life.
Let's get back to clicking "Battle"

So here's what happened to you, mate, let's pull back the curtain and let folks see how the sausage gets made. This is what got you reported:  Now, notice first I said "reported." A fellow member of the community felt your contribution here was beyond the level of civility we're looking for. Next, we reviewed it. Fun fact: we get a lot more reported posts than we give out warnings. Often we'll simply opt for "No action" (effectively dismissing the complaint). Finally, we voted. I can tell you that the decision to award you a strike for tone and content here was not unanimous, but the majority felt that this was insulting and argumentative enough to warrant the caution. So folks, did we get it right? Wrong? You be the judge. We do this every day, we're not gonna land on the bullseye 100% of the time, but overall we'll be holding to the standard that this place affords. EDIT: You would have gotten away with either one of your two remarks. Speaking for myself alone, making two jabs in a row is what made me vote to warn you. |

I deserved my warning as I knew I was going over the civil line in my response....so I'm sorry I had to have the mods do extra work.
My poke was just what Super Hero said....the rules have tightened on the forum to keep decorum, so more PC than before. The mods have been pretty clear so I'm not claiming ignorance....just tired of inane posts by some who relate every ill of the game to some personal vendetta. The game has morphed so much over the past 5 months due to many different drivers.
Oh well, time to submerge and let my ban clock run down a bit before I get feisty again....or figure out how to insult the intelligence of some participants in a more respectful manner.

Does the ban meter deplete ? Have a cool down like Griffs jump? THe ban meter starts at 0%. An official warning moves it to 50%. A second offense within 30 days moves it to 100% and results in a one-week vacation. Offend again within 30 days of coming back, and the ban is permanent. But in all cases save the last, 30 days of no offenses and yeah, it depletes back down to 0%. So you don't give out 10% for the first warning anymore? |

And as mentioned above, the number itself is arbitrary. We could set the first warning at 10% or 99%, it has the same effect. So we agreed to peg it to 50%, to reflect that you're "halfway to a temporary ban." |

Ya know... Since I got the Funniest Mofo award... I have been given a ban warning and some 50% ban meter on my profile... Warned for using the forum as a personal message board..... Hassled at every turn for inappropriate this.... Offensive that... Dude I used to really enjoy this forum... Yea, I'm borderline offensive... Yea, I push the limit... But lately here I feel like I got a target on my back. I've toned down my jokes... Actually been a real boring S.O.B..... Tried to follow all the rules.. But this is getting tiring. I love all you cats... But it's bout to the point of finding somewhere else to kick it. Love, Peace and Chicken Grease... Don't know you from a hole in the wall but I have read a lot of your posts, some I agree with and others I don't. Either way I have enjoyed your contribution to the discussions and it would be 「dookie」ty to see you go. I enjoy a good ole' debate or flame war from time to time but things have changed since I started viewing this board. This year was the first time I actually started posting, most of the time I just lurked in the background because I know to much of the bull「dookie」 in my head ends up on public display. I have had to learn to filter much of what I want to say, especially when it comes to the hot topics that hit the board often. Most times if I see a post by you I will click on it because most of the time it ends with a chuckle similar as Salt's posts, I know his/her post will always speak about my least liked robot and I never pass the chance to poke fun at the flying scrap pile. Perhaps flying under the radar is not such a bad idea until your meter is at zero, just poke your head up from time to time to keep the mods on their toes (Help them justify all those zero's they get paid for it. 0.00). Anyways man, let this 「dookie」 blow over and lets move on to more posts about how awesome things are going... or not going. |

I know this isn't a place for that, but if that wasn't a joke, then for many (most?), MM is indeed just fine. Not anywhere near perfect, but fine. It's good in silver, so I have hard time believing it's that bad in bronze or gold at least. Well, it's been a few days since I got top damage on winning team, perhaps some folks would consider that "not fine".
