Yeah, it's gotten too PC with the onslaught of all the new members.  I've gotten my deserved warnings for being uncivil to morons so I'm not really caring what happens with my forum account.  Not like playing nice with fools is fun anyhow,,,,and the game is losing all of its luster for me anyhow.
I'm not going to change...I am who I am and if I get banned, so what?  Not like you can't read stuff...you just lose the ability to post snarky comments back to mofos who post inane stuff.  If you are going to go out, go out with a bang!  It's better to flame out than just fade away.

Yeah that's annoying seeing that my post is tagged and I go to check it out and it's some guy saying to 'knock off the personal attacks' and it's like 「whiskey tango foxtrot」 how do u possibly not understand it's a joke. I think the new generation of annoying internet forum members r in the form of PC cops as opposed to cussing spammers. Just a change of times. I guess it's not all that worse

Language censors are software programs.at most the mods made a list not the actual replacement is done by a program. This tends to end up with some oddities.

For example, when talking about flame thrower, fire proof is fine. However fire-retardant may get censored despite being a perfectly legitimate word for the discussion. Cockpit runs into this issue as well. We pilot out machines from the cockpit but well... Software doesn't get context. So you can't blame mods for a software's in ability to understand context.

As for P.C. look, PIX links to this forum now. The PIX devs are providing some info and support to the forum by communicating and helping with media packs. That means the forum must be treated professionally. That is what happens when you become more official. And look, yes everyone loves freedom of expression. However,a certain level of professionalism must be maintained. So... Ask yourself,would your language and behavior be acceptable in a business setting? And by that I mean not between two coworkers who fry each other but rather between a business and a customer. So.. Act accordingly. If you don't like it, go start your own unofficial forum.

I would guess an American flag or military symbology are ok. Pepe the frog is a 4chan, alt-right, pseudo white nationalist meme.

Look this is an international forum. Yes if only the American flag is banned that is bias. However, if to prevent trolls from complaining and wasting mods time because they view certain flags as bad, the mods banned all flags so be it.

Who knows, this forum is hosted free of charge. However there could be terms of service that the mods must abide by as well. Perhaps the company that hosts the forums and covers the server bandwidth costs have theirs own requirements based on advertising agreements. It could be any host of factors that limit what is displayed as avatars and censored.

Given that PIX isn't hosting their own forum server, maybe we should all just be glad that our moderators and admins enjoy this game and community enough that they devoted their free time to making the forum work which isn't easy. So instead of complaining, maybe we should say thanks or at least ask why a decision was made before breaking out pitchforks.

National flags: Not a damn thing wrong with 'em. Almost everyone on God's green earth has a nationality they're a part of, and cause to be proud of that. Wave 'em high and proud if that's what you'd like to do. There's nothing inherently political in a flag itself.

Pepe: Sorry, that's political. I know it didn't exactly start out that way, but whether you agree or not that's where it ended up. There are a thousand forums where you can argue politics to your heart's content. This just doesn't happen to be one of them. Even a simple avatar sends a message. Someone above mentioned the swastika, which is a good example of how a simple avatar image would send a message and divide the community. Personally, I'd love to be able to discuss politics in the Rants forum, which I'd like to see relaxed in terms of rules enforcement. But it's not up to me, I'm just one voice amongst several.

And perhaps I'm oversharing here, but for the avoidance of doubt, I'm not hammering Pepe because I'm some "triggered" liberal. I'm on the right, politically, but I know a land mine when I see one. This is a game forum, end of.

I'll reiterate, if anyone at any time has a concern about how we're modering this place, I would really appreciate a conversation rather than just taking someone else at face value. Open or PM, I'm fine with either. Hell, I even opened up my Ask Dredd for anonymous questions. I got more anonymous questions about my sexual preferences than I did moderation.

So I appreciate the sentiment here, but just to clarify, when we became linked in-game by Pixo it was news to us too. There has been no change to the board's oversight based on anything with Pixo. Indeed, the board took its town and direction from the Wiki board, which was seen as a font of knowledge and shared experience. The guys behind this place always placed a high value on that, and sculpted the forum accordingly. I suppose you could say it was meant to be more of a coffee shop annex in a library, rather than a dive bar on the docks. 

Not that there's anything wrong with dive bars on the docks. But that's the environment more like what you see in the Facebook groups, and not really an atmosphere that's desireable here. 

But it would be disingenuous to pretend that the linking of the Forum in the game had no effect, either. We'd already been moving to reform the rules and enforcement system here, and having a flood of new posters meant we needed to make sure we set the right tone. I don't like administration by whim or whimsy. I like a set code of rules that folks can look to and know what's good, and what's not. But that was nothing "official," just a natural reaction to a huge influx of registrations.
