I just came from a loss (got my behind kicked pretty hard). I as surprised, though, to find that I LOST 12 cups in spite of scoring the highest damage on my team, with 4 kills and 2 bacons. No screenshot though. Anyone notice this as well? Edit: Thanks to SGT D00M for the info. STOP USING SINGLE DATA POINT ELO SKILL INDENTIFIERS PIX!! I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY FAILEDNTO LEARN THAT AFTER THE DAMAGE FIASCO!

「whiskey tango foxtrot」 is going on with pixonic, it's one screw up after another! It's like they want people to quit!! They are punishing the losing team so bad with the new system. Why not just make it a point system based on damage and beacons with a bonus for all members of winning team. That way if you get squaded with crappy players, or if someone loses connection, you can still earn points by doing damage, getting beacons, so you are rewarded for at least trying. I mean, how hard would that be!!!

This still happends and its pretty stupid.

Yeah, it's preferable to the "damage at all costs, even if we lose" nonsense.
It's a step in the right direction.
Perhaps they could void the point losses for teams who had less team-mates for a significant portion of the match...?

What I dont see mentioned is a system where you loose less if you get matched with players 5 leagues above you. This still happends and its pretty stupid. I agree and this could be their next goal. But first they have to try everything they can to prevent such mismatches from happening in the first place (which would be a better solution). Failing that, they have to explain to everyone how the new system would work, which is a lot harder with a non-fixed distribution.

Leagues don't mean anything and I doubt they ever will. It's the MM that people care about... well that and earning their Au and Ag rewards. With leagues, Pixonic was trying to implement an incentive that didn't involve having to pay out. When it comes right down to it, people will ignore leagues all together if it means collecting more Au/Ag or getting a fair fight. Their solution to clubbing is a joke. Locking out the bottom two leagues? Really? All that's going to do is shift them all up two leagues and make them more concentrated. It's not like a Bronze level player provides much more of a challenge to a maxed out hanger than the lower leagues did. Hell, they'd have to get to upper expert before they'd really start meeting any meaningful resistance.(iOS) So now those of us with mid-level hangers have to deal with more of these guys. The biggest problem for the clubbers is having to face each other. The "leaver protection" might funnel these guys into the so-called ditcher league, but that doesn't last forever and once they're down there they can avoid getting put there again pretty easily since Pixonic will always allow for a certain level of ditching for people who want to skip maps. Every time they implement a solution, it's almost like they're purposely avoiding actually fixing the problem.

Ok, so before everyone is all up in arms and ready to jump off cliffs lets remember the title here was "Leagues update. First batch of tweaks"
For quick reference here are the numbers
How it looked before: Win Loss
13 7 10 3 7 -4 4 -10 3 -15 2 -20
How it looks now: Win Loss

Now as to their reasoning behind this: (directly from their announcement)
Notice that values for a losing team mirror values for winners, but with a minus sign. It might sound harsh, but bear with us. There’s actually a huge reason for that.
The previous point distribution allowed most players to quickly reach their respective leagues. However, those who prefer capturing beacons instead of head-on fighting got into a bad position. They rarely got more than 4 points per win, while losing 10-20 per every lose. If you wanted to climb, going full damage was THE way to go. Didn’t matter whether you won or lost — if you were hitting harder than anyone else, you were on the plus side anyway. Instead of teamplay, the situation promoted the unhealthy “hardcore loner” attitude.
And now you have to go for the win to get in a higher league. Dealing damage is as important as ever, but let’s face the statistics: most matches in War Robots are won by beacon control, not by elimination. Hence, play along with your teammates to climb the ladder faster.
The effort of swift flankers is much more lucrative now: if you prefer capturing beacons rather than fighting, doing your job should feel much more rewarding. And most importantly, there’s a real reason to play in squads now: a well coordinated team tends to win much more.

So yes, if we lose we lose but if we win we win bigger than before. Beacon cappers are now just as important as dps bots. Balanced groups will move up quickly and squads and clans will be useful at all levels of play. Is it perfect? Maybe not. Is it a move in a positive direction? I think so and we should all be providing constructive feed back about how to tweak and balance it further.

Now you are really going to feel the effects of tankers or ditchers in your team. I just came from a 3 game loss -40ish points, the ditcher or tanker just had to be on my team. I didn't care much about them before since I still get league points from being top 2. Now you are punished for tankers and ditchers on your team. Good thing I didn't care that much about the league, or league points. If anything, this might allow me to tank some points and get into a lower league.
Even better, you're essentially sabotaging your entire team if you party with lower levelled players, because the entire team will take a harder hit to their points. You basically need a win to even up a loss.

and give the little swift beacon grabber guy +25.

I like this new system. I can go all out on my bots and don't have to worry about being pushed to a league where I'm outgunned 90% of the time- where even if I play really well, i still come in last since my allies are all 4+ levels higher than me
