Has Pixonic ever considered taking their matchmaking system, and separating it for league and non-league play?
Right now if your hangar plays a match it affects your league standing whether it be a squad battle, or random; if you change your hangar for the next match same results. What if you had to register a hangar of bots for league play for that period? Sports leagues for team sports around the world require you to register your team, you can't just make changes willy nilly. If you decide to change your registered hangar after you're already in a league, throw in non-registered bots, and play a match the MM automatically knows it isn't a league match, and puts you in a different pool just like what they have with the leaver pool. Except rewards in non-league matches are less than league matches.
This automatically makes players field their best bots for the best rewards, adds prestige to the league system, makes league matches more competitive (which I believe is the idea behind any "league"), gives an excuse to implement bot names for registered league bots, and would it drive players to spend more au, maybe? How could Pixonic not like that, and as players matches should be more fun.
Rewards: Keep the existing reward system for league play, non-league play implement a smaller reward system.
Why non-league play? Experimentation with bots for the next league registration period, casual play, and just plain fooling around.
Yeah, maybe I'm just rambling, but just lost 5 matches in a row, the forum seemed like a good out.

Totally agreed, an unranked, unrewarded mode would be awesome when you want relaxed battles and experiment things
