The boa has been very underpowered since about mid 2016 so i suggest a idea
keep the max health at 185k and speed at 42
but add a built in ecu that is on the right side of the robot
This ecu will start off with a base health of 40k and increase by 5k every upgrade.
level 1:40k level 2:45k level 3:50k level 4:55k level 5:60k level 6:65k level 7:70k level 8:75k level 9:80k level 10:85k level 11:90k level 12:95k
it will also have a ability where the shield will gain a energy shield coating on it thus blocking all damage received for that period of time
the ability will start off with 20k health and 2% regen every second and once the energy shield runs out the ability will go on a cool down of 30 seconds
so the stats now
Health:185k Speed:42 Shield health:95k Ability Shield Health:75k total health:355k
the energy shield will only block damage that is received from the right side or the side the shield is facing
this will make the boa a very strong robot if its ability is used well i dont think this will be over powered because if the boa gets flanked or gets double teamed it will not stand a chance
thanks for reading

It's a shame the Boa has fallen, it was one of my favourite robots a while ago. This idea is interesting, will the weapons still fire with the shield up? If so that would make the Boa a strong bot' to take down. It'd be like a mobile Rajiin...

The weapons would still fire but you would have to move your shield to the side and then shoot my suggestion would be to put up the shield first then once most of the weapons have been fired you would lay into them with a thunder taran or orkan

just imagine it being like that but instead of just the thunder firing there would also be a taran, orkan, punisher etc firing aswell

I think this is a good idea, but in PVP games you don't really know if things will over/underpowered until you actually put them in the game. But it doesn't seem overpowered (I can make a few cases of the griffin being slightly OP)
I think pixonic could implement this in some way or another, let's hope they do.
The boa will rise again..

Thats the excact reason as to why they have the test server so that these ideas can be tested by the community before being implemented into the game

The Boa isn't underpowered for an Ag medium. When you crunch the numbers it's actually the strongest. I'm on my phone so I don't have my spreadsheet, but it's basically boa > golem > vityaz > patton if I remember correctly.
The problem isn't with the bot, it's with the matchmaker that's eliminated its niche.

@op- a medium robot with a shield on its side.. sounds like a Galahad to me? only with much more base-HP rather than shield-HP.
I used two Boas from when I started in November until early January. somebody already said it, but they are still definitely the best silver-medium-type robot. a lot of people use pattons because they can hold 4 aphids, but otherwise Boa FTW. it just can't keep going in this current MM
Chilly- that sentence was a tongue-twister!
Side note - it would be really cool if we could choose to 'evolve' our light bots into a matching medium bot, and then evolve again into a matching heavy-type. like: cossack - rogatka - griffin schultze - boa - leo or Carnage gary - galahad - gepard
Cheers,

No. I'm tired of shield bots.

I'd buy it if instead of a shield it had a repair mechanism built in. It's the wave of the future!

Boa is basically a heavy bot that traded off firepower for more speed,it's already Ag so why the hell do you want to both an ancile shield and an underpowered ecu?
Ag bots typically would have no sheilding nor special abilities without a major drawback(speed/firepower/bot hp)

The boa's easily the best Ag medium bot. Honestly, the only buff it could use us a few extra kph of speed to help it be a better power runner and flanker. Honestly, most medium bots could use a little more pep to help make them an appealing middle ground between lights and heavies.

The heavy speed buff did it in because heavies can now stay away from it. It's best utility is up close; range weaponry on it is lacking.
The solution is simple really: give it speed where it can close in again. Really a speed buff would help all the midweights.
Too much emphasis on defense these days like people's suggestions for Raijin. These are already durable robots. Give the Boa a rush ability; that'll be even better than shields.

ChillyTempurrrrr I would say just remove the nerf from long ago. That might just do it.

To me it seems like ecu's should be on the right side.

Shields... no. Instead, how about missile counter measures, or flares? Being able to respond to incoming aphids or spirals would add depth to gameplay vs just increasing a bot's health.

I would have to disagree with the built-in shield thing, there are already too many bots boasting shields. I do agree with, however, rebuffing the speed of all medium bots. They all should be somewhere in between 34 and 39 base speed, with properly adjusted leveling boosts.
Otherwise, I think the Boa is a fine, trusty 'ol rust-bucket of a bot who never lets me down in the fray.
