My experience with war robots

It has been quite a ride playing this game. It had some ups and a lot of downs, but in the end i managed to quit this darned game a second time in a single year.

It all began in 2017 when i got tired of a game called power rangers legacy wars. It was a fn game although its power creep has started bothering me. I was looking through the app store in august 2017 until i stumbled upon war robots, thankfully i had experience with the game beforehand. I remembered quitting this game back in march 2017 due to the lackluster performance on an android device.



august 2017 - april 2018 "Rock paper scissors"



I started expanding my hangar. I found many robots and weapons that suited me. After i was done with silver i had one last goal:the workshop.

I started using the workshop around octoer 2017 and i was quickly overwhelmed i was forced to scavenge different sites for any type of help. I scavenged until i found the Walking War Robots wiki, during my short exploration i stumbled upon a small article featuring the recommended WS progression. I started following it. But then i noticed that the guide was a bit outdated and i started scavenging for more info. While deciding on a bot to build i stumbled upon a thread about WS bots on this very forum. It didnt take me long to make an account. I was sparkling with curiosity i made alot of threads, some of them being of a sub-par quality (even for my standarts)
. I didn't explore the forums as much as i needed to. That was because I was having geniune fun in War Robots. Sounds crazy right? Back in those days you had to strategize which bots and weapons to bring out. i still remember ramming into the enemy lines with a PDB rhino, holding off choke points with an orkan fujin(yes i was running that setup, but it was fun) The game had this euphoria that if you lost that is because you didn't have the needed gear. Not like today though back then it meant that you didn't have the best robot for that situation, but you still had one (for fairly cheap mind you) that could destroy the scene. It was overall fun. I managed to clog up some storm components through deals, at the point when i had 2 storms I realised. I could make a hover.

May 2018 - July 2018 "the golden age"

Why is this "age" golden for me, well one simple reason. Walking War Robots PTS, which translates to the war robots test server. Back then the server wasn't as wild as it is now. You could find some fun people then, you could make a hangar that had no weapons, but just shields. Sometimes people would be friendly, other times not. I was hyped for every server session. After a day in school and going through a tutor readying me for an exam i would boot up my Ipad and search the latest version of the ts. Other than the ts in june i finally finished making my hover, it felt like a grand achievment for me. I thought iwas in some case premium, around this time Adrian Chong made a giveaway where he gave out 100 spectres and ravens. Realising all the sweaty drooling kids wanted the spectre, i decided to pick up the freshly released bird. By the end of June I had a hangar with storms orkans tarans and even almost 2 vortexes/vortexi. Sadly this was the begining of a downfall, enter July 2018

July 2018 - Novemeber 2018 "the realisation"

People who have been around that time period dread over this month. It had this teeny tiny unnoticable feature called the economy update. While yes i was a part of the pixonic bad, war wallets bandwagon. I never really felt it. Any further bots and weapons suddenly seemed worthless. But before giving up i decided to work on one last project- the scourgasari. I was grinding the offers non stop trying to perfect my future mech.

Sub-category: August 2018 "A new spark"

This was the best period in War Robots for me for one simple reason. Me, ap erson living in a third world country, got to the US. I was excited beyond belief. The moments with war robots weren't staggering but seemed fun. I had 3 scourges up and running on a fujin, waiting for their purple mother. But the grind was getting smaller, more enjoyable. It was nearing the end of august actually it was september 2018 at this point.September 2018 was an extremely important month for War Robots as it brought ws 2.0. Everybody and i mean EVERYBODY was hyped beyond belief, people started dumping silver into this so quickly they were running bankrupt. I was a part of this train too. I started small getting myself a fury in just 12 hours for around 14mil silver. i finished the fury and it was time to live the us. My first time experiencing the zeus fury was in agod danged airport somewhere around Germany. I thought things were getting better

Intermission to november 2018 in 5,4,3,2,1

Here we are in the future November 2018. During this season i started noticing me having more outbursts of rage than ever before. And it didn't help my constsnt headaches. I finally saw the aftermath of w.s. 2.0. it wasn't to make the plaers happy, it was to make the mid game more painfull. As i was making more fun less competetive bots every gold player just made a spectre and 4 orkans. The preassure was too much for me. I couldn't climb any longer

December 2018 ( The crossing of the line)

By this point god bots were made and it seemed that the power creep would keep marching on and on. But i was still happy. My next plan was getting a blitz, i already had a halo and 5 gusts. i was about 20-30% done, and then an update dropped, the reason i quit War Robots  a second time. Modules where finally here. While playing around with them in the ts they seemed fine, nothing off the ordinary here. I knew that the horrors of Last Stand where not achievable for me so i marched forward. I had an inquisitor which was kind of a double edged sword. I hated stealth bots the moment spectre was released but i had to use it to have any chance against the gods. There was one thing i did not account for the healing module. I never thought that such a miniscule tool could bring so much terror into my heart. Anywhere i looked i saw leos, falcons,rajins,invaders,bulwarks and any other tank at that moments abusing this. I could not stand in this repitition. I was noticing my okans dying out, but to this extent it was not even imaginable. So i plugged the power cord and did not return to war robots for a while.

April 2019 - July 2019(The return of the fun?)

I finally returned to war robots after 4 months of studying/experimenting with other genres of games. I booted on the game for the first time in a while and I just decided to start building bots and weapons. The primary point of interest was by far teh event, while it was kind of painful, it wasn't the most stressful thing. I got every new weapon, hell even a special ares. And i was not ready for the last one, as i was making another meta machine being the ao junk. So i finished building and leveling my hangar and there i was proudl standing with a falcon, ares, ao jun, inquisitor and a tiny blitz. I had  blind favoritism of the falcon and blitz, they were just way too much fun. It was finally summer and it was a painful school year and 6 exams behind me. On june 15th i started doing whatever i wanted. June was managable as usual, but through this rebirth of my interest i started going up in leagues. And there I was in july 2019 a new event and the proud medal of a champion league fodder. This event was not as fun but it did give me igniters with which i had a lot of fun. My final plan was the fenrir, i started building up and hoped for the best.

August 2019 (a new challenger approaching)

This game was like a small cold after having brain and lung cancer which is war robots. While i do rage in this game it typicly happens onnly once in a session. And i rage not a on a daily basis.
This game had a wonderful dynamic of my love for giant robots inspired by the likes of: lego exo-force, lego herofactory invasion from below, power rangers and of course war robots; and my love for anime like JimJim's wierd quest, game ended la game ended, God's Blessing on this Wonderful World shimoneta a wrold where the concept of dirty jokes doesn't exist. If you cant tell soem of thos names where censored for not so obvious but more likely bizarre reasons. Get it? Bizarre! like in  jojo's biza... I failed that oke so miserably what the hell am i doing. I won't get into more details about this game since i am planning to make a full fledged review for it. And that shout tie it all in nicely. Let me just look at the date. October 12 2019

October 2019 

I am making this section just so some people out there don't end up in the smae pit that i am in. All this rage and my pretty much life long headaches have driven me to the point where i am now in. I have been hospitalized for around 1.5k weeks now wasn't the most fun thing in the world, but the fact that i ended up there is a sign to not overdo your body's limitatios.The end of september 2019 was pretty much a week long headache. I don't want anyone out there to go through headaches likes migraines. I would recommend to quit playing player based games which involve p2w of any kind and stick to just one game. If you still want to stay in this hell that is war robots, go for it, just don't wreck your brain like i did.

So after all of that i am still gonna stay with this forum, this place has been pretty much the sole reason that I have been playing War Robots for so long. I might not be playing hta game but I will be going through multiple threads leaving comments on them and try to support the conversation.
