I start this game on iOS when Lancelot, Galahad, DB/PDB/RDB Griffin, and TT Fury were the meta.
Then new Dash bots, Inquisitor, Spectre wipe the old meta.
Then Mercury, Hellburner, Pursuer, Bulwark, Mender, Falcon, Blitz, Invader.
Now Ares, Ao Jun, Phantom, Leech.
A lot of things has changed, I remember the best bot Lancelot only cost $50 Then Dashes come, my old clan mate spent thousands on them Then Spectre come, my old clan mate spent thousands again Then Spectre nerfed, 80% of them quited.
Looks like people from War Robots now used to items being nerfed, no more quit.

Of that list (and at the time of their dominance) I’m split on the Brit bots and Dash bots. But I guess dash for the Kumi fun, not so much the meta of the others.
I didn’t run the top meta, I preferred Galahad/Gareth and Kumi Storm! Eventually, I tried em all and ran BulgTrain after the shock train nerf. The color match looked great and the sound FX are still among my favorite. I love that capacitor charging reload and the ka-chunk of the circuit closing to fire. I ran Haechi w punTs, awesome build.
And finally, it was Pursuer, Bulwark, Falcon that secured my place in Champions League. Some of my now-favorite bots are in that list, but I really did not like the idocracy of the HB spawn raid. There’s OP and then there’s just plain stupid. Sadly, Pix has decided to monetize the stupid end of that spectrum.
Just started to find my feet when the Brit bits dropped. Didn't like the TT fury as it wrote off the mighty G-Had over night. Liked the scourge because the shields came back. Liked the dash era as the Strider came in.
I really don't mind any era of meta because I like working out counters for each bot and killing them with legacy bots and there are some lower tiered meta released bots that are fun and balanced. Like Ao Qin and Blitz.
I really enjoy playing the variety that is out on the battlefield now. Being the league level I'm usually MM in. Low Champions League to Masters.
I don't mind phase shift or last stand on their own. But I don't think you should be able to put all of them on a bot much more a Sorcery bot.
As for leech and being able to use their ability through walls. Just another thing to work out and will eventually be nerfed when the next thing comes along in 6 months to a year.

I would've voted BritBots era if that was there. I found that to be the most fun and you could earn them without having to donate a kidney. The biggest complaint from the Champs at the time was the similarity in hangars iirc (but isn't that balance??) and the slowness of the bots. I like running Bulwark and Mender so I voted for that instead.
Ghad for sure. Didn't like the Ancilot even though i used it. Slow dumb beast, nothing special to it.
G Had was the epitome of mech on mech warfare. Took skill to pilot it, easy to obtain (2500 AU), and not OP. I spent the most time with that bot, fits like a glove in my mind. King of corner shooting, such a lost art today. Could defeat Ancilots and took some skill, but i even figured out how to take out TT Fury. Good fun climbing on top of railing on Yam, and then walk over to the Fury and melt them unseen.
I also discovered free aiming with my Ghad at this time, so it was easy to bypass armor. Able to cut down Bulgasari and Lance, so deff alot of hidden abilities. And good times that made it past its experation date.
The other eras just slowly decent into madness and fantasy land. Magic weps and such that we have today. Most OP bots were fun to use after they got nerfed, Orkechi, Buluga, and spec. Hover comes close to being like Ghad in being able to survive 2 years after its release, still in my hanger. Tyr comes close to feeling like an improved Ghad , physical shield plus one more wep and Support ability and speed modes. But nothing comes close to operating Ghad at its prime and even a little after. Hover is loads of fun and has its moment, but it's no ares or Ao Jun. Balance is not there with Hover.
Ancilot era. Everything was pretty well balanced although the Ancilot was OP. It was still fun to fight them though. It was like a mini boss appearing and we all had to swarm it. I remember Tharnages shooting down the Ancile from over 350m and RDBs pop tarting up to end the Lance. Teamwork was a must but you didn't always get it though.
A DB Rhino running right into the Ancile of an Ancilot and taking it out was one of my favorite sights. Chubby would desperately waddle backwards and that Rhino would get right up to the Lance chest to chest and end it.
Sometimes if the Lance had the Rush charge ready and timed it right it could escape in reverse. It had to Rush right when the Rhino dropped the shield and returned to its base speed. This is why it is important to plant that shield into the chest before dropping it to give you some time in the shield bubble. The same thing applies to Ares. If I drop my shield just inside the purple bubble the Ares speed even with ability active is still faster than my Rhino's base speed and I end up outside the purple bubble with my shield down.
