Have been playing War Robots for nearly two years, but I'm just very casual, sometimes stopped playing for months so I stopped at about mid-high silver in the old system. Win rate was about 54-55% and game was fun. Right up until the new League thing.
Now what? I'm constantly with players whose bot are higher level. But that's not the problem. The problem is: Trident Fury and Lancelot/Ancile every fu*cking where!!!
My matches since the League came are like this:
30%: quitter/tanker 50%: whichever team that has more Fury/Lancilot win 20%: no tanker/no 「fluffernutter」ing overpowered bot, where I usually do the best.
As much as I hate tanker, now I find myself rage quitting a lot, something that I had never done before.... I'm thinking about going to the leaver league. Can someone tell me how that thing goes?

It takes ditching 20-30 games in a row to be put into the tanker League and I think double to go back to the legit Leagues.

I mean, how the game usually goes over there? Bunch of sealclubbers or tanker everywhere?

I mean, how the game usually goes over there? Bunch of sealclubbers or tanker everywhere? From what my clan mate said, pretty normal. Just easier competition.

Gezz, as long as I don't have to see Fury/Lancilot as often, I guess I'll experiment with fellow tankers for awhile.

I don't think the system is fully active..It is at best guess in seeking mode, compiling stats and patterns on players (much like the league roll out).. With the next update should be safe to say it's running full punt mode.

If you're any skilled at all, it's very easy Silver and gold. I averaged about 800k damage in the 20-25 games I was in it, and I only had one bot over level 7 at the time.

Why not try some challenges? try a stock bot challenge, no upgrades and no changing default builds. You'll lose and drop rank but have fun and eventually balance out to climb back up.

This is system is still not active, today i've tried with mi pet account, i ditch at least 150 matches, as result i was back to recruit from bronze 1 and i've made a lot of gold...so maybe they have to activate it or the sys simply does not work

I was in Recruit league facing Rhinos, Raijin, Lancelot, Griffs, Leo's, Fujins, Carnages. This was the day after they announced it. I doubted it was a coincidence but it may have been.

Let me answer the op question 'how to have fun' Esp concerning the presence of gold bots in games w ur silver and wsp bots- don't u realize that the people w those bots r so bad that even though they have top level gear they still can't win? It's still all fair in the end. Statistically speaking. The other possibility is, while u have a superman pilot on one team, that team also has a couple noobies. It all balances out.

They may be bad player, yes, but the main reason they still can't win in the top level games simply because top level players also happen to fill their hangar with Fury and Lancelot/Ancile as well. No matter how good you are, there exist a limit to what you can do against Trident Fury with only silver and WS bots, especially playing alone in public games. Then come the buff to Anclie with the Lancilot. Unless the pilot play recklessly, it's almost impossible to kill that thing. More importantly, they are not rare sight (as it used to be in the old MM) anymore. Now my games are usually filled with them and they are the game changer force. Whichever team has more of those bot wins. That's not my definition of "fun".

You can have fun by:
1. Having your 5th bot as your fun robot while the rest are for serious play. 2. Having a separate hangar specifically for fun. And when you use it, have no expectations. Just play.
Lastly, you start having fun when you stop worrying about what other people are using. Focus on what you need to do and be content with that.

Ehh, what you're saying is basically equal to "go play offline game instead". This is online competitive game. We play because we want to try ourselves against others. When I loose against someone who use generally the same bots with me, it's fun (and that's exactly how it was in the old MM. I don't know which idiot at Pixonic decided to ditch hangar level restriction completely. What a moron!). It is not fun when I loose against players with beefed-up bots and weapons.

Your thread title is misleading. You are asking how to enjoy this game and I'm giving suggestions on how to do so with what's given to us. No one will argue with you that it's not fun playing bots with higher levels.
If you are a competitive player though, it should bring you satisfaction beating them.

Trying to play this game competitively is a joke ATM, especially if you run into tankers. What I have found to be effective is to not concern yourself so much if you win or lose, and just play to the best of your ability. If you are getting smashed by midrangers that are way overlevelled then there really isn't much you can do about that. If you notice you get smashed by a particular bot very fast then try to avoid 1v1 engagements with that player. You can generally tell when you are playing against higher level competition after a while anyway.
You can either 1. Give up the game and spend your time on something more enjoyable/less frustrating for you, 2. Throw money at the game and get yourself a maxed hangar or 3. Excercise the skill of patience and commit to grinding your way to the top like most top tier players had to in the past.
The choice is yours.

Yes, you can enjoy this game. I run 5 Destriers with punishers and molots against Red's maxed hangar and as a player, I imagine myself as Al Pacino's Tony Montana from the movie Scarface...'Say hello to my little friend!' Bratatatatatatatatatatt! "I'm still standin', huh! F**k! Come on! Go ahead! I take your f**kin' magnums! Come on! I take your f**kin' orkans! You think you kill me with tarans? I take your f**kin' pinatas! Go ahead!"

I just opened my 5th slot and now slots 4 and 5 have an amped up Cossack and Destrier parked in them and I enjoy those two immensely. The higher up I got, the more of the big dinosaurs plodding around lobbing rockets at each other from opposite sides of the board. Yawn ...... .

Whichever team has more of those bot wins. That's not my definition of "fun". OK chad, I don't disagree w any of the facts u bring up. But your perspective on how this all balances out is skewed if u think that u somehow have an unfair disadvantage bc some people have gold bots- this is called a 'pay to win' game. The scheme u described is EXACTLY the way it's supposed to b- the people w the strongest bots win, and they cost money. That's how pix makes money, and that's how the game is free. BTW what's stopping u from just doing enough daily missions to save up the gold u need for one of these [allegedly] op bots for yourself? Too much time? Then spend money. Don't want to spend money? Then just have fun playing for free. Pix doesn't owe u any fun. That's bc they don't charge u any money. The system in place actually works perfectly- your post is basically a complaint that u want pix to make less money, all the while making the game more fun for you without having to pay anything. Btw if u haven't figured this out yet, u can make a killllller lineup out of silver and wsp using griffins, rhinos, carnage, maybe a stalker or Leo. The more powerful the gold bot, the more delicious a snack it makes. That's the slogan of a pilot who likes a good challenge. Your problem is no one smacked u around enough when u were a kid so u complain too much

The only thing that made the game fun again, and likely kept me from quitting, is being invited to join a clan, which I did. Those guys make it fun!
Thanks boys!
