Despite the static list of bots and weapons the meta continues to shift. Some of it is due to Pix's ongoing buffs and nerfs that affect 6 Pack equipment but to a larger extent it's due to pilots and teams continually looking for the next edge over the established meta.
Buffs to the Leo, Ancile and Magnum brought AnciLeo's to the fore in many hangars. This then led to a swing towards plasma heavy squads to cause ancile heavy squads to have wasted slots. This then caused many bots to be redeployed with Thunders, Zeuses and Tridents and then that has led to a lot of rockets to reappear to take advantage of unprotected bots.
Throughout it all, mainstays such as the ancilot soldier on, with varied loadouts, but around them the cast of characters ebbs and flows and keeps matches new and interesting.
My most recent pleasant discovery was how much fun and effective a Pinata Patton can be. Rapid unload, quicker on it's feet than the heavies, and with teammates to help, useful even against ancile bots.
On to other hand, the MagPatton has proven itself to be able to handle MagAnciLeos pretty well (extremely well when cover is around) and good against Thunder Carnages that you can catch without Rush ready. They also simply dish out the hurt versus anything unshielded.
But on the third hand I have also experimented with all Silver hangars (2 ThunderPun Leos, 2 Stock Leos and an RDB, as well as 5 Fujins with silver loadouts) and found they hang tough with meta League Tourney hangars as well. This bodes well for pilots with as little as 9mill Ag who want to give the league a try.
Lastly, the poor nerfed Orkan. It still works. Can you leap in to vaporize targets like the DB's of old? Nope. Well, not if they're shielded or heavies but the secret here is that you're not, or shouldn't be, alone. Just about any level of softening up will ensure the kill. Softening up you yourself can also be accomplished with a few judicious squirts of missiley fun. After all, with all rockets auto-reloading no one says you have to empty the hopper in one go. My Orkan Fujin got a Wrampage on Dreadnought one recent Fight Night. Orkan Rogs and DBs still abound. The Orkan is alive and well.
Far from being static, the 6Pack meta keeps on changing, keeps on trucking, keeps on being interesting.
