Heya folks,
I'm new to the game and generally new to shooters as well, I don't know exactly why, but I've never really gotten into shooters before, but something about this game attracted me.
I started off on the Android but it's just too tiny for my old eyes, so i switched up to the steam version and I'm having fun, mostly.
My issue right now is stupid long queue times. I'm only lvl 11 private league, but the game is telling me avg times under a minute, but I'm looking at a 20 minute queue right now.
I am retired in Thailand, so my time zone is skewed, maybe? any help?

Welcome to the game, you do know you just sold your soul to the devil? Steam has a small player base, hence the long wait times. If you have just started the game I would try to get back on Android, 10 to 30 second wait times

Playerbase issue makes sense. I like the play on the PC better, Might be OK on a tablet, but my phone is just too small for this game + my old eyes.
I guess I could try an android emulator, are the graphics as good as on steam?

I actually tried the bluestax thing, and it worked OK. the controls are a little weird and the graphics are less crisp. I could not figure out how to get the mouse to act like it does on the PC, I like the Steam PC control setup much better.
Plus queue times got a lot better as the day went on. See what happens but I think I'll stick with Steam as my main version.

I'm not sure how it works and its frowned upon by some but... oh well! There's software out there ... emulator(?) ... that will take what's on your Android and put it up on your PC... if I understood how it works correctly. There are several different versions / brands and I wish I knew which was good for Android. I believe most are free. I'm playing on a Galaxy S6 so I feel ya when you say it's hard on the eyes. The only downside is now you're stuck to a desk. Alternatively, there's a thread around here that talks about best tablets or laptops for play. Good luck! P.S. Opps! Sorry... didn't see previous references to emulator... working off tiny Android. Iol

Well I just unlocked my 4th robot slot on steam version. I'm playing micro transaction free, tho I may chip in to premium, to support the devs.
Any help on fixing the bluestax emulator to make my controls act just like on steam? Mostly it's the firing button thats bugging me. on steam i just move the mouse and hit LMB to fire, on bluestax I have to click on the red button then move mouse around. Not digging it.

I'm not familiar with the emulators but if you ask this on the Tips/Advice sub forum there might be experienced people that can help. Welcome btw!

After bouncing back and forth a bit, and taking some time to tune in the controls on bluestacks, mostly getting the aswd wheel placed and sized right, I decided I'm going to focus on Android. the graphics aren'r as crisp but the instant game queues are awesome enough to make up for it, and it's nice speeding things up by watching ads. Also despite not being my preffered way to play, if I'm away from home and bored, I can log in and play my same account on the phone.
Steam looks awesome, and the controls on pc are easier, but the shorted queue times I got were 1.5 minutes, sometimes i had 40 minute queues i just dropped out of. It's the instant queues that makes the difference.
I'm old and slow, so I have no real intention of pushing high ranks, but as long as I'm getting good competition I can see myself playing this game for a good long time. Up to lvl 20 bronze league so far, one more level and I can start workshops!

Hi shadynasty, welcome here. For android emulator, I think Memu is better than Bluestacks. I bought myself an android tablet just for this game. Nothing else on it to keep it fast. Mobile phone screen is too small indeed, but I do prefer the touch-screen over keyboards. Never got a hang of it. Like to play War Robots while in bed, so a tablet is easier than a PC Btw, I'm in Thailand too, not retired but working. et. Where abouts are you?

You could probably troubleshoot it here if it's not as good. Lots of folks do use tablets too though for your same reason. I have a big 5.7" phone screen and use readers and it's pretty clear if your phone has a good screen pixel count. Brace yourself because this game sucks you in by design. And you've probably seen the upper end of prices. Just start slow and if you get beat up in matches, just take it in stride. There will be a tendency to spend money to upgrade equipment so you can win more, but you'll just move up in ranking and the difficulty continues. But, it's a fun game... Cool weapons and bots and game play. Nothing else really near as good except maybe Battle of Titans but it's still being developed and has way less content.

I'm a PC gamer really so, playing on a device will never be my main thing. I have bluestacks dialed in now so I feel like I'm doing all right. Sitting in silver 2 with a 53% win rate (last I looked, dipped my toes in FFA for the first time since then), 4 bot slots open. haven't spent an real money yet but I've watched a lot of ads haha
