While my son's been at camp, I've been playing his Expert hangar some in addition to my own account, which I progressed through Masters and into Champs with since he's been off.
And I'm sure it's because his hangar is kind of screwy and not as leveled up, but I swear the battles in Expert are just...crazier, I guess, than I fight in Champs. Spawn raids happen more frequently and general mayhem goes without saying.
But I've got a much more cohesive hangar with strong bots that are at higher levels than his. So it's probably just my imagination...right?

In the past couple of months the number of spawn raids have been increasing in my matches. It's fun and tension filled. I credit a lot of my wins to pushing my way deep into enemy territory. Shenzen is the funny one though. Sometimes both teams start a spawn raid at the same time. The key is to be holding the other beacons first. The Reds seem to kamikaze into the Blue spawn to try to take the pressure off their spawn. I know it's suicidal, but after I cap our home and the one near the curvy-roofed building, I head for center. After that I suicide my bots until I can walk all the way through the center to capture Red spawn beacon. This usually works as my teammates realize what I'm doing and lend support. Once their beacon is turned, we just hold it and keep spawning there and killing Reds as they spawn. It's a blast.

Seen more general mayhem in battle the last month or two than previously, for sure

The only thing I found harder to cope with in Expert is incompetent nitwits as my teammates.
I'll drop in, all ready for a good fight when I look around to find 5 Zenit Natashas surrounding me. Death, spawnraid, loss.
"Expert", my ?bum-bum?.

It's just your imagination. What's really hard is when you first go to champion league and yo-yo between there and champ and you suddenly realize that those two leagues are really like night and day. All but a few basic bots disappear when you make it to the big leagues and you play against well disciplined pilots who know all the tricks so you have to play better as well.

This might also be a function of the (apparently) smaller user base in the Amazon environment. We're playing against Champs from Expert level on, if not from Diamond.

It’s not so much that expert league is tougher. It’s that players with gear appropriate for expert are piled in with champion players. If you were matched with only expert players you would fare much better.

Well yeah, generally speaking expert/master games are more wild and fun..
champs has too much of the same dumb 「dookie」 - it isn't classy or skilled

Expert league is such a strange mix, it's defined by the professional tankers/league managers with years of experience, coupled with the seasoned FTPs slogging it out. Then comes the newish players dropping lots of cash, for the MK3 Doritos and the "MK2 Specials" decking out their hangers. It's frantic, crazy, soul destroying, fun and well ...... it's Expert....

bout time. especially with the mix of champions that use the homing rocket barage thingies (you know what i mean). i guess they get deranked but if you check their hangars, the have a meta loadout.

Many games provide a few seconds of invulnerability to prevent spawn raids... I think this would be a good thing for Walking War Robots at one's home drop-point..
