After playing against him, I would say he is better than many in Champions League, even with lvl8 gear. He makes the most out of his gear.
Pretty much every one of us have been loosing 1/2 our games for more than a year now. It is what it is. I do not have to win to have fun. Do you?
Unless you are a member of an "S" clan, your win rate will hover around 50%. This is a result of the community complaining about a "broken/unfair game". Seems we always get what we ask for and are then never happy that we got it.
Sounds like he is a good player. For me my average ran from anywhere between the high 60's to low 30's. I eventually threw in the towel when I started to spend extended amounts of time in the low 30's getting hammered by death squads, whales, or being frustrated by my teammates shooting each other, pushing me into the line of fire so they could shoot, running into walls, hiding for the duration of the match, or dropping into a match with long range bots and weapons and camping during capture the beacon. Together it was enough to push me over the edge. So one day I deleted everything. Not that big a deal. It's a game, but I do enjoy reading the forums. hahaha, so you got tired of torturing yourself with the game, but continue to do so with the forum.
Did you try to play Dom exclusively? Squads stay away from Dom. I get good games there. Yeah, seems to be more campers in Dom, but they are not as much of a liability there. I consistently stay in the upper 50% range when I solo because I stay in Dom. I like that mode better anyway.
As far as dumb teammates go, nothing helps that. We have been dealing with that since the dawn of gaming. I just know that somewhere, someone is probably thinking "what a dumb player" when they see me doing something.
Oh well, I hope your next game is enjoyable for you.

So you think most ftp players have 20k gold laying around? We are talking a lbout a huge part of champions league players having on average level 9 bots and weapons. These are the players that have to grind to be able to afford any piece of premium piece of equipment and leveling it. You think theyhave that kind of gold laying around, that is a bit delusional... I already said that F2P could do it in under a week spending little to nothing, or spend a little more to do it more quickly. *I* did NOT want to grind it out, so *I* used Gold that I had saved up to do it more quickly. Anyone who has not been saving and/or did not buy a few $10 Gold packs has no one to blame but themselves if they fall behind and drop but they can still recover in a reasonable amount of time if they are so inclined. There have been plenty of players come through the forums that said they hit Sergeant playing F2P and if you have even 5K saved in Gold you can get there in a day or two on all 5 pilots by buying a few higher level to start. The point is - it’s neither difficult nor expensive to remain competitive. For level 31 you need to pass 11, that is 500 gold, then 21 thats 1000 gold, then 31 itself, that is 1500 gold. So a total of 3000 gold per pilot. You cant grind the promotions, you need to pay the gold. Do you understand what ftp means? 5 pilots to 31 costs 15000 gold. There arent many ftp’s who have that laying around. And then I didnt even take in account the gold it will take to get the right skills. How does an ftp have that kind of gold? Then need all the gold they have to obtain some premium items like good weapons, bots and modules.

Yep, I think Pixonic finally broke me. After a few days of pilots, I'm seeing Ao Juns that can melt me even faster. I close in for a kill on an Ares with my Strider, only to have Last Stand kick in as his weapons regenerate and he kills me anyway. I'm spending more and more time locked down, facing enemies that I can't even fire back at. I think I need to put this game away for a while, because... This is just making me angry now. I did that in Feb 2018, then again Sept 2018. Current account I am running 3 slot hangar, and things are fun. Just 1 or 2 slot hangar might be even more fun.

I quit a while ago... I saw this coming! Pilots? Training? boosts in the disguise of "Training"? There is just no way for the low paying/no paying player to have any fun. This is crap and I dont miss the head banging headaches!!
What surprises me more is the continued support for this game.... Everything, EVERYTHING that has happened is to the detriment of the casual player! We have been saying that for years and it has come to this.
Shame on all you that still play and especially those that spend $$. Pix wont stop with the magic and crap here!
I am sad this game has come to this. I loved playing! Cant even look at anymore!!

Smurf it! No hassle, no frustrations and no $$ necessary. You can run dirt cheap gear and still be competitive if not OP using the skills and experience that you have gained. When all else fails Smurf it and Smurf them! When you feel the need to get in the mix again, you still have your higher level account. Why play and get angry?? Game=fun War Robots =anger/frustration/sadness

Before you give it up altogether, which is where I’m close to myself. Try changing the way you play. 1. Always leave game against death squads before you even drop a bot. 2. Rearm all your bots, no more brawlers, use 500-600 meter weapons. 3. Stop sacrificing your bots for center beacon. 4. Play for yourself, not your squad. 9/10 times they c ertainly aren’t playing for you. 5. Focus on damage only. Don’t worry about kills or beacons anymore. 6. Never squad with your clan unless your clan has fully maxed hangars, you will definately end up facing a death squad. 7. Refer, to step one, it’s the most important thing you can do. 1. Nah. Just don't drop more bots after first if it feels pointless. No point delaying the first bot drop to see the squads. Most feeling of accomplishment in the game can be had, when you are the single random inferior player in high level squad battle, and you do well, for example decide the battle with your beacon capping. So better play the first bot and see how the battle is going. 2. On some bots, brawling weapons are fine. Mostly this means beacon cappers, such as Strider. And prefer mid-range weapons which can be used for brawling at least a bit. Because playing only mid or long range gets booooring. Boring. 3. Depends on situation. It's a beacon, and potential 5 Au. Then again sacrificing a bot is rarely the wise thing to do. 4. Play for yourself, but secondarily play for the squad. Because the most fun moments in the game are the rare cases of random teams playing well together. 5. Focusing on damage only will unnecessarily push you up the leagues, and hurt your Au income. Balanced approach is much more profitable. 6. If you like squading, squad away. There's just no point in restricting your playing this way, if you want to squad. 7. see 1

I’m feeling the lack of love, myself.
I still play 2-3 hours a day, but it’s become a repetitive nightmare.
I simply can’t compete with several flying flamethrowers at once, or Ares that always have their disco lights on. Since the event (which was fun), I’m facing massive quantities of new bots and weapons, all of them leveled up. I’m fighting masters and champs regularly, fighting as hard as I can to end up at the bottom, w/ no kills, no beacons, 50k damage... considering how hard it has been to try and break in to Expert 1, I can foresee a massive change in the Ag payouts, or me finding something else to do.
Funny. I’ve never been a gamer, didn’t have the patience. War Robots is the one exception....now it wants to take my hand off....

I probably shouldn't be saying this as a forum staff member, but take a break. That's what I did. For at least a couple of months, after many, many attempts at restarting with smurf accounts. And when I went back in to see if the old flame still burned, I found out that not only did I not miss playing, I actually still hated it as much as when I decided to take a break. So I left it again for awhile, just to not rage-delete (again), and after another month of total inactivity deleted it anyway. Along with BoT and Mech Battle, which were also just annoying me for very different reasons. I've been playing Mech Wars now pretty regularly, even though it too is suffering badly from AI-itis due to a near-nonexistent player base. Nonetheless, I still find it more enjoyable than the other three that are no longer on my iPad. But I'm not spending anywhere near the time (or $$$) that I did in my early War Robots days. You can take comfort in knowing that there is life beyond War Robots.

I already said that F2P could do it in under a week spending little to nothing, or spend a little more to do it more quickly. *I* did NOT want to grind it out, so *I* used Gold that I had saved up to do it more quickly. First and foremost - I have repeatedly stated that the F2P player could get to Sergeant quickly enough (L21), not Lieutenant (L31). Getting to Sergeant requires 500 (Corporal) and 1000 (Sergeant) which is 1500 per pilot or 7500 per hangar. Secondly - I have also said several times in these threads that the F2Per would want to just run with the default/randomly assigned skills. The simple fact of the matter is that they work just fine for the main part. All of mine are random and although I’d like to change a couple, I’m actually fairly satisfied with them and have no intentions of changing them at this time. And lastly - yes, I do believe that the typical F2P player in this game has 8000Au in the bank if they’ve been paying even the slightest attention to what’s coming. F2P and minnows are terms commonly used together in this game because almost everyone spends a little; there are precious few, diehard F2Pers. Now, if you’re talking about the true blue, 100%, ain’t spending one, thin dime F2Per, then the question is whether or not they are a smart F2P player. If so, then they will have been saving up for this and there is absolutely zero reason to believe they won’t have 8000Au banked by now from opening chests and matches, especially after the most recent event. BUT, if they did not prepare then, as I said, they should have realistic expectations and yes, it may well take them a few weeks to get to Sergeant. (I’ve generated 400+ Gold in one day of playing just a couple hours, so a few weeks is reasonable.). However, this is going to be a small portion of the population. I believe there are plenty of F2P players who have enough Au stacked up to go all the way to Lieutenant. In fact, we’ve heard from several on the forums over the course of this past week, as well as others who have said there’s been a bit of a Gold glut of late as well. And all THAT said —> I don’t believe there are many true blue, dyed in the wool, 100%, not-one-thin-dime F2Pers in this game. Even here on the forums, where F2P whining is present on most threads, there are only a handful. Most players spend a tenner here, a tenner there. Certainly the vast majority of players in the upper leagues - Masters, Champs - are NOT spend averse. Most upper level players have enough Gold that they absolutely can boost through the pilot ranks and even change out a few skills they don’t like. It’s really all in how you play the game and plan for the upcoming XYZ. I have zero sympathy for players who don’t put in the time and do not plan well.

So, I poked my head back in after a couple of days, just to see how things were. Then I faced this guy in his lvl 12 mk.II Falcon: I already started a thread about this in the main discussion group, but consider this as the future we face. I watched my team hurl about half its total bots against this one guy, and the round ended before anyone managed to kill him. It was on the Moon map, and he just kind of Strolled into the home beacon and proceeded to not die as we all did the equivalent of pissing into the wind at him. This is only going to get worse, because you can keep adding abilities onto to the pilot. As this Falcon stands now, it's practically unkillable.

It feels like Pix is done with this game so they tossed everyone a bag of super powers and will let chaos ensue. The super powers only work if you pay up the gold though. Last cash grab of War Robots? I'm down to playing my D1 smurf only now. My end is near as well.

There is something satisfying about sending double Nashorn rounds into someones face at 100m. The Molots are probably doing most of the damage but it makes me laugh.
