I'm not sure our understanding of beacon capping is really a good measure of player impact. The capping reward can be given quite arbitrarily because often a couple of blues take over a beacon together. Who actually gets credit is mainly dependent on who has the fastest bot or ended up closest to the beacon while taking out the Red defense. However, important is actually how long the side holds this or that beacon. That's why I struggle to answer the following questions: How do you measure that a player helped keeping a Red from turning a beacon? And how do you measure that a player has helped turning a beacon? Also, should different beacons be valued differently when capturing? E.g. capturing center is more difficult than home beacons or side beacons. Red home beacon is even more difficult. Those should be valued higher. Otherwise capping at the start of the match will be even more fought within teams which results in a waste of time for some óf the players.
