I have't leveled my Calamity because its hard to imagine playing strider at longer ranges effectively when the field is covered in greeks. Also, I find that using Glory on top gives you too many outs. Also, hitting the lock on invader while sparks melt so they can't rejump is yuuuuuuge. What?! I write an entire volume and all I get back is this rushed response? booooooo.......?? Don't quite understand the Glory on top thing. Calamity Strider is a wildcard build IMO, I’m still experimenting with different approaches. Great Invader tip, gonna try this later. ? I'm working, man!  |

Ahhhh....
My Strider is at L10 and I’m in love.
Recently I switched out my Halo Ember setup for a Shredder Viper setup, and I fell in love all over again. Am I promiscuous I wonder?
The only way out may be to build a harem.
I pray I never get my hands on a Calamity... oh lord don’t test my strength

I’ve had some sublime stretches with mine on the Yam bridge (BOTH LEVELS), Dreadnought roof, Powerplant hill, Canyon anywhere. Best surprise so far is that it kills Ares chest to chest, stick your needle right into their evil disco heart and push push push The Ares chest-stab!!! That alone is a reason to level the viper. Shield or no shield, when chest to chest I get through and get the kill about 40-50% of the time, it’s worth it to me, no fear. I do it frequently with my viper/halo build or any build that has leveled shotguns. My Striders are MK2 so I’m sure that’s helping me last long enough for an honest attempt. |

Mistakenly dropped mender as my first bot on moon map, nearly always go strider. Turned out to be the winning mistake of the game as I saved strider for the end. We got an early lead 3-2 then dropped to 4-1 as a tide of red swept through the field. Not going quietly into the night, bots on both sides started meching out as we liberated 1 beacon, now 3-1-0 with maybe 10% blue beacon health remaining. 3 polits remaining on each side and I make a daring sacrifice suicide launch w fully flaming falcon getting us to 3-2. But red health bar is >50%; it’s not looking good for our heros. Last bot, precious seconds ticking away, victory seems impossible... Time to engage SUCKER PUNCH! I clear my mind and let the strategicly managed dash-spasms flow through me. Beacon after beacon turns blue as I lead reds on a wild chase. dash-dash-dash...recharge on beacon, shifting nervously left-right...dash-dash....recharge on beacon. After getting a couple kills, beacons to 4-1 and only a sliver of strider’s health remaining, I winged an Inky to lib the last red beacon. Battle went one on one (not me sadly) with a VERY narrow victory, and huge win for striders everywhere.  P.s. you know it’s a slugfest when 900k gets you last place, lol. |

Is the Exodus-Spark-Halo Strider an effective build? My take on it, halo works better as you get closer, so not too mismatched there. Plus you can maybe root em down for easier exo targeting. If that doesn’t work, you’ve got spark-tether targeting lock for easier exo tracking. I ran Haechi w dual pun-t w scourge for that tracking thing, kinda cool. |

Spark Calamity. Vaporizes mid / low HP bots in the open. Will try out Halo Spark Calamity for the lockdown. I have 1-1-4 on those weapons (won a dragon calam in BungOw lottery), but seems like a LOT of upgrade time. But interesting... |

Let’s talk about best strider builds BB Here’s my favorites: Exodus / Gust - fastest killer of the setups, no need for lockdown. Spark / Glory - Combo of lock, high DPS close and flex range. Bonus obliterates other striders. Halo/Ember - I use ember blaze halo but same thing, kills fast enough hits everyone. Halo/Glory - fun but you gotta be too close to really smoke them. Thx for the halo/glory input. I was considering that for my 2nd, but will pass. I have other weapon combos that are partially leveled. Only 1 halo in inventory. edit - replied too soon, saw BB ‘s dissertation on the various builds. Hmmm, lots of options, too much to upgrade. Oh well, It’ll be a month before I can upgrade new stuff for it anyway, plenty of time to decide. |

I’ve been using that to increase survivabiliy, buying reload time for exo, had it lying around already, etc. Also, I swear that the super-glide window is larger when moving sideways. I can hit a small glide into dead city center over those humps without stalling >50% of the time. Sideways, blind and ECU taking fire. Save a dash and...SUCKER PUNCH,,,this is my beacon bee-atch!

I’ve been using that to increase survivabiliy, buying reload time for exo, had it lying around already, etc. Also, I swear that the super-glide window is larger when moving sideways. I can hit a small glide into dead city center over those humps without stalling >50% of the time. Sideways, blind and ECU taking fire. Save a dash and...SUCKER PUNCH,,,this is my beacon bee-atch! I just put a Glory and Halo combo on my strider...super fun for capping.
I added a blaze on the other arm to fry them when they are rooted.

Striders are great and all, but i love my new rayker. Avenger gust transferred from strider make it a dps machine. Usually beats things in the five seconds allowed by suppresion. Very fun bot

Rollo Tomasi strategicly managed dash-spasms ? .....and the ecu shield was designed for Girl Scouts and below Well...now that you’ve shamed me, I can’t be seen in public with THAT build any more. ? So I ripped off the ECU, tossed it in a box labeled “more useless War Robots crap” and stuck that in the attic between a box of aphids and haphazard stack of magnums. I converted some scrap comps into a second halo for a halo exo big-boy build in my active hanger. I think that drops me to 8 or 9 halo-class weapons worth of comps remaining, lol. Not sure what gets replaced after my second one levels up a bit. Mender would provide 2 mk2 gusts, bully could support shredder/avenger build. Meh, I’ll mix it up and see how it goes. Might just slap those avengers on back of falcon and run ember on 2nd strider. Love these option bots! Or I could just go back to my KOH bucket head...  |

Which Strider build is the most effective for you BB ? I consider all of my builds effective depending on map and circumstances. Exo build is my most effective opening bot to center since I slapped 2 big boy modules on him. Glory build is super effective in CQC but not so great on canyon Calamity and viper builds up on the Dreadnought roof can be absolutely life affirming experiences ? I try a lot of different moves and maneuvers depending on which one I’m running at certain points in the match. |

I’m holding out for the 5th anniversary BOGO deal, which I’m sure will come any day now. Lol. Right now, my thinking is that the NR give more benefit (smaller % boost, but on a much bigger number) vs. the armor. 10% of 13.5 ain’t all that big a difference. Edit - oh yeah, thx for posting! |

My vids are usually of the short, punchy ?popcorn? variety produced mostly for (my own) entertainment. Tutorials just aint my thing. THIS ONE however, is my first complete gameplay BECAUSE it is less than 6 minutes long AND it was fun as all get out. Ingredients: contains no music due to limited production time, 28 TOTAL beacs capped in under 6 minutes of gameplay, the old 1-2-3 super-glide triple beacon special, humor, skill, luck, MSG, ascorbic acid, nut residue The old 1-2-3: if you spawn on the lip and hit your super-glide to home beac (1), you are on your way....then (2) quick dashes to 2nd beacon....then (3) quick taps to center, STAY TO THE LEFT 8:27 whiff with the ember but.......be vewwy vewwy quiet.......ninja please 7:54 I am so utterly confused here it is comical, ty Au Junebug teammate! 6:53 Smartest move I have made in days 4:20 ? fin  Did I mention that I like Striders? |
