Since the update, my super dashes are crap. I’m wondering if it’s the whole dash mechanic that has changed or just the super dashes. Where I used to easily glide off the edge of starting platform on Carrier, I now notice a dip at the end of the dash that is new to me. Similar stuff on other maps as well. Anybody else noticing this? Come on...it’s OK to admit that you still run a Strider ? Yes, super dash is over on my Strider too. He also seems to keep getting his feet tangled on uneven ground on Factory. Kumiho still seems fine.

I think the game is still too buggy and laggy to agree on an objective observation

BBI hit it over and over again majority of the time. If you got lag interrupting that’s one thing, but I wouldn’t be able to superman as usual if Pixonic had “silently” nerfed it.

Getting back to showcasing the awesomeness of the Strider’s abilities and capacity for old school trickery and fierce fun, heres a recent and decent 10-10-10 BR solo match on Powerplant.
Stride on you crazy SuckerPunchers

Stride on you crazy SuckerPunchers Literally the only thing I saw in there that was flawed was your reaction time to the ao jun using PS which might be something I am just oddly good at so I may be a bad reference. The rest was pretty much flawless play, damn do I wish I could be as patient as you sometimes. Usually I just want to go get into the fight right away, I can hold back sometimes but not nearly as well, as long or as often as you do. Absolutely one of your best skills!

Well, if ever anybody needed proof of how good the goons setup is... Had 2 wrampages in the same game as you can see and got yet another kill shortly after (then died after that). Only 1 of those kills were from my titan which I used for the rest of the game... but half of that damage at most was from the strider. Not the highest score I have collected but that is one of the better ones... I realize this post was from a few months ago but just letting you know it inspired me to build my own Strider Goon buildout. With the Gust nerf and Exodus being marginalized ones of my Striders was collecting dust. I had two unleveled Marquesses and about 1,000 Dragoon sharts. Took forever to build and level but now I have a fun dash bot set-up for TDM. Strider: level 9 Dragoon: level 10 2x Marquess: level 8 going to 9 soon Pilot: level 40 with Dodger, Road Hog, Armor Expert, and Quartermaster

Strider: level 9 Dragoon: level 10 2x Marquess: level 8 going to 9 soon Pilot: level 40 with Dodger, Road Hog, Armor Expert, and Quartermaster Good! Just be ready to kite most of the match, people will hate you (good enough damage to slaughter their leeches and ao juns, get to an angle to pelt them in cover with the speed. This makes their hiding useless which pisses people off for some reason) and hunt you across the map. Many matches were played with 2-3 people just trying to rush through my teams lines just to get at me. Alas, my teammates were overjoyed by the free kills and easy pickins. Not to mention how ridiculously hard it is to catch me, basically I was the bait for a really mean trap. Lose one bot to my strider, get pissed and lose the rest trying (and failing) to catch me. Oh, another thing you should remember. When fighting people with tasers or other lock on weapons you can simply out range them. That makes many think "what? But both have 600 range" but with goons you don't need lock on. Get to the edge of your range, fire at them and then right as they start to lock on, dash out of range. Keep doing this (remember 3 seconds to lock on) and you should be able to kill most taser users while taking little-no damage. And my last bit of advise, use Quantum Radar. You can really hurt juns and quite easily with this build with nearly zero danger. Just use the dashes and hit them whenever they are in the air, really helps teammates (juns land early usually) and gets you kills often...

Interesting on the goon setup. I have my hussars and goon other bots, but can see why a goon strider would be very effective.
I had a redeemer and highly leveled tarans in my hanger when I got my first strider, and my plan was to do redeemer/taran strider when my next slot in my upgrade cycle comes free.

Its deemer magnum btw, magnums are the light weapon and tarans are the medium. And the goons build gets you tons of kills but your damage takes a hit so it isn't getting you everything. Effective and fun as all hell but you need something that can deal lots of damage (titan is best for this) to make up for it.

So with the impending nerfs, what are you guys planning to run on striders? I’m thinking of sticking with freeze rockets on mine. I have had some success with Nucleon/quarkers, but I feel the utility of freeze and the aoe nature of rockets makes it more suitable for dogfights under 100m even if they receive a 20% damage nerf

I also like the Nucleon/Quarker set up. A near constant supply of ammo is great. My second Strider is an Ember/Rime. Both are fun and successful.

Gets tons of kills and is very easy to last a long time in, damage isn't great but thats what titans are for. Ice rockets were great when I ran them but losing a 5th of their damage is probably going to put then in a tough spot. Rockets were best so maybe a build with something and avalanche. Strider may be one of the few bots that can still use ice rockets and the such after the nerf.

This was a while back but I though it was kinda cool. How about a "Quadruple Living Legend" in a Strider. Match was on Carrier and as always I dropped my trusty Nucleon/Quarker Strider first. Wasn't really paying attention to the kill streak until it popped up on screen. I was late grabbing the SS on the first one, but it's shown on the bottom of the screen. They just kept coming. My little "Energizer Bunny", lol.

The strider thread is back!
How are your striders doing in remastered? I noticed there’s a post dash delay, it’s pretty heartbreaking. I can barely reach center on 5 dashes now, when I could do it in 3 before (including jump).

You would have to test it yourself or talk with someone else but the new weps might work really well on strider... thats a build I may just stay around in this game for.

2,000 hp there for a secomd and you still got a kill, literally what it is like for my strider and mercury half the time. Limp over to some unsuspecting fool and collect that final kill *just* before my bot flops over from the shear amount of time and battles it went through. I love that you can't fully heal your bot in this game (healing all but 20%, of the damage you take is the most brilliant thing ever, one of the reasons pix could have made this game extremely well balanced!) and so when you use these bots that don't take much damage per fight you really get to see just how much that healing limit holds you back. Seriously amazing man! Well played and I hope that you can get many more like this in the future!

Was thinking about trying Glacier/Blaze since I’ve seen people having success with fire/ice combo builds. well then take it off of whatever it is on for a few rounds and let that sit on the shelf for a bit. I did that when I had no blaze but I wanted to try out blitz, just took the ice rockets from my gale and took the gale out of rotation so long as I was using the blitz. At the very least you can find out if you like the build enough to use it without using the resources. Do the same with any other builds you have the guns for, especially the glacier + blaze setup since you were leaning towards it. Wouldn't recommend as aiming both flames and rockets from any distance would be kinda hard (different speeds would hurt) especially considering just how much strider moves around but thats what testing is for... if you can do it then it would be a brutal build.

Is it just me, or has the dash been shortened in length? And my STRIDER seems to be running slower since REMASTERED...

I think I saw somewhere that they’ve acknowledged they screwed up speed calcs and will be fixing those mistakes. We’ll see about that.

Still pretty beastly in dogfights but the general mobility nerf is hard to swallow I'm running roadhog on my STRIDER and it still seems super slow running...dash is shorter (unless you catch a superdash)...If I weren't running BATTLE BORN, he'd be just about untenable as a first drop bot. I'm not a "cyber ninja" with him (even when he wasn't "semi-nerfed") so you experts with him probably won't see as many issues as I do.

From what I understand, Strider is just one of numerous speedy bots that has been RECLUSTERED to disappointing levels. Whether or not this gets fixed or Pix already “fixed” it remains to be seen. From my perspective: shortened dash speed bump at the end of many of my dashes (although change in new terrain may factor into my perception of this) overall slower and rougher ride curiously I am catching super dashes off ledges more frequently than before
