This is for all the people complaining that they aren't getting enough league points.....
BE GRATEFUL.
Have you noticed that after the big MM change that did away with equipment-based tiers, there were many people who persistently complained that MM was brutal and they were forced to face enemies with much higher level hangars all the time? And lots of folks said 'wait til things stabilize'. And the complainers response was that, the more they played things didn't stabilize, they got WORSE. Well, those were people whose play style was to do a lot of damage. So their league score kept going up.
You get more league points, you get matched with more powerful and skilled opponents.
There were many other people who responded that the new MM was great, that their matches were better now than they ever were in the old equipment-based tiered MM. Well, those people are the ones who play in a way that doesn't get them league points. They find themselves in matches against less skilled enemies with lower level hangars.
You get fewer league points, you get matched with less powerful and less skilled opponents.
In fact, unlike the old equipment based system, if you get your league point score low enough right now there is no limit to how much weaker and less skilled opponents you can face. If you can manage to get lots of -20 scores, you can wind up facing newbies in Destriers with your 12/12 hangar. People do this on purpose. It's dirty. It's awful.
But it is a very vivid example of the power of your league point score.
When you move up or down leagues, the matches really do CHANGE. You go lower, they really get much easier. You go higher, they really get much more difficult.
There are people I know IRL who I can swap devices with. On Android I'm in Gold I, they're in Silver II and Silver III. Their matches are so much easier it is almost comical, and their equipment is only 1-2 levels lower than mine.
Sure you get league rewards for being in a higher league. You also get much easier matches for being in a lower league. Remember that. Do not whine and moan about not getting 'enough' league points, that you are somehow being cheated out of your fair share. If you're not able to earn the league points to get to a higher league, you do NOT have what it takes to play in that league. Seriously.
So be grateful for what you have, stop complaining, and don't ruin things for everyone. (I am always reminded of what happened when people complained to Pix about having too much silver. Result? EVERYONE got boned w.r.t. silver earning, forever after. Idiots.)

Though I understand your sentiment expressed in your post, I strongly disagree with the claim you make above.
You are making a huge assumption in that the only way for a match to be good I'd because it is easy. You claim that those who felt the match making was better felt so because they face lesser opponents, meaning easier wins.
Facing a challenge, on the other hand, is boring or bad based on the logic you outline.
Yet I have seen many posts saying they enjoy the challenge the new match making system brings. This is completely opposite to your claim. I know on this game (and many others)y most memorable and enjoyable matches were hard, close fights where victory was always in doubt and it was a push to win. In some cases, I didn't win but the challenge made the match. Yet by your logic, I must be facing easier opponents because I am enjoying myself? That just doesn't seem to fit.
In fact, what you suggest is to get maximum enjoyment I should derank till I can roll over my opponents. Where is the fun in that? If I want an easy mode like that, I can find better games.
So please, don't project your views on the rest of us. Not all of us find easy to be fun. We would rather have the challenge.

Challenge is very easy to get. Just be a halfway decent player, you will soon find yourself facing opponents with equipment 2 or more levels higher than yours and you will get all the challenge you could desire.
About this I am quite serious.
So if you want challenge you are not the type of person I am talking to. Well if you claim to want challenge and you're not already getting it, maybe you are you just don't realize it.
As an example, in my league my opponents generally have equipment 1 to 2 levels higher than mine. I'm fine with that. How about you?

You get fewer league points, you get matched with less powerful and less skilled opponents. I respectfully contest the idea that enjoying the new MM depends on enjoying weaker competition, because the game got better for me when I started interacting with the more interesting tactics being employed by players with 10-12 hangars. I'm with critter in that I prefer a challenge and don't desire diminished competition. And I am loving Gold III despite owning nothing over level 8, with most bots still level 6 or 7. I take pride in most of my competition being a couple of levels higher on average, although I do take it personally when I see someone with mostly level 7 stuff and a slightly higher league ranking. Overall however, when I look at the rest of Gold III I'm thinking my playing style helps me get a few more league points than my hangar alone would merit. I'll admit that, for the most part, my current matches give me pretty much all I can handle because I don't seem to be able to move up from where I was placed initially. From that perspective, the league-based MM is doing its job admirably. The other thing I noticed immediately when the league interface returned is that I've only had tankers in <10% of my games since being 'placed,' whereas last week it seemed more like >80%.

This is the MM Pixonic wants and they said they have no intention of changing it. "Even though matchmaking changes have proven to be quite controversial, we decided to stick with it for now." -Pixonic

The only thing that stops me from getting more League points is my team.
I haven't won a single game since the 5 game placement, yet I've always gotten the +3 or +7.
I hope win rate is a factor in league, because mine just went from 58% -> 46%.

On iOS at least it seems there are still a bunch of peeps who have not done their qualifying matches and skewing the MM. I have guys at lv 30 9-10 hangars to guys as low as 7 with light bots only. Consequently if you get a lot of the latter on the blues on solo play you can kiss your butt goodbye.

Apologies if this is a stupid question.
How do you check your battle history?

Well, those were people whose play style was to do a lot of damage. So their league score kept going up. I'm honestly trying my best not to focus on damage, but those darn reds keep getting within firing distance of me...

I would say that I truly only became a good player in the summer of 2016. Yes, I had grinded a lot in the fall of 2015 and spring of 2016, but I was matched against tons of top tier and higher gold tier players in my 7/9 hangar after the MM screw up in the summer, in addition, the mainstay of my hangar, the rhino, was nerfed by the heavy speed boost. That was probably when the game was most fun for me due to the challenge of top tier players and the satisfaction of beating them, and I actually got three millys and numerous 900k's to show for it. I feel that my skill has only eroded since then, due to a lack of playing the game and not fighting as many powerful opponents. Anyways, I'm hoping to progress through the leagues and maybe regain some of that old skill.

I'm for the most part seeing how far I can take my level 9 bots and weapons up the ladder without upgrading. Most players I face are 2 levels higher, particularly their weapons and it's getting worse as I go up. But I notice too that I'm not the only one. There are quite a few people in my games ranked higher than their levels suggest. I've been impressed by how they play. So I'm following their example.
In the meantime I'm leveling stuff in the background so I can squad with friends at Champions League. Or when the need arises where I reached the ceiling where I can't go any further with my main bots, I can pull these out.
I see a lot of people complaining about playing high level bots. They should realize that what's happening is they are playing better than their levels suggest. It's a compliment to how well they play really.
