Hey all,
Just hit level 15 have 4 slots and this is my current set up: Vityaz lvl 3 w/ lvl 5 ECC thunder and 2x Punisher lvl 4 Cossack lvl3 w/ Punisher t lvl 4 GL.Patton lvl3 w/ 4x Punnisher lvl 4 Gepard lvl 3 w/ 3x SURA-F Pinata lvl5
about 3.4mil AG and 231 AU
Any tips on different equipment/bots? Really enjoying the game thus far but don't want to dump resources into the wrong thing since upgrades are starting to take a lot of time.
Thanks in advance!
PS also wondering if joining a clan now would be a good idea or if I should wait.

I'll try First: say goodbye to the molots and punishers. Weapons you should focus on are Plasma (Magnums, Tarans) and Rockets (which basically come as a 500m or a 300m Version). Suggested setups (bot level you should aim at 4 with level 6 weapons first): Gepard - works best with Magnums or Pinatas (good for rocket training. Patience and aiming) Patton: use 4 pinatas or 4 crvs (more range, bigger splash, less damage). Or use Magnums. Cossack: will be useless later on, but now usefull for you to get beacons (and the 5 gold for most beacons more often). If you give him a Taran he can even kill other cossacks^^*+ Vityaz/ Golem: use them as knife fighters (sub 300m). ECC Thunders + plasma or rockets I strongly reccommend getting a Boa (with Thunder and Orkan/ Taran). On spending your WSP: get plasma weapons (Magnums, Tarans) On spending your gold: you have Orkans yet? If not, start saving. @clan: you get an additional 3 gold for the first three won matches per day with clanmates. Besides that solo-farming is considered more effective (you dont compete with your clanmates for damage and caps).

Can't get Magnums or plasma weapons yet so maybe keep saving. Not sure what an Orkan is? What bot should I replace with Boa? Are the Heavy bots not worth it? And finally should I sell the Punishers ect? or hang onto them?

Orcans are Medium hardpoint Au weapons and are like Pinatas in that they fire the same type of missile, but they reload whether or not they are empty, shoot twice as many, and don't require you to "blow your load" too early... meaning you can just let up on the fire button and they quit firing so you don't deplete your "magazine". Heavies aren't worth it yet. No. At least get your mediums to 4 with weapons at level 7 before jumping into a heavy. Boa works best with a Thunder so I would use it in place of your current Thunder bot or the Gep. Especially if you can get an Orc to put on it. Don't sell all your GAUS and Molots. Save at least 4 of each in case the fabled firearm buff comes through. Plus, sometimes you may just want to use them for fun... But 4 of each should be plenty. EDIT after reading the OP: If you can get into a clan that will actually talk and know what they are doing, the advice and squad play will help a lot. The other advice on bot setups are good... But a couple of quick notes to expand on that... Close range advice: Golems and Vits are similar and can be used for the same purposes. Vits have a bit more HP but have 1 heavy and 2 light Hardpoints, while Golems have less HP but 1 Medium and 1 light Hardpoint (more damage per second). Until you get either the Orcan or the Taran, for close range the Punisher T is the best bet as a medium. However, I would just run the Vit with Thunder and Pinatas personally, that setup will work in a lot of matches and will allow you to save for the medium weapons you need rather than upgrade something you don't need right now (punisher ts), then you can get the Golem and make either a Thunder Orc Pinata or a Thunder Taran Mag golem that will be viable for a good while. Before you get the Golem though, the Boa is a tankers bot. Consider it first. Lots of HP and great maneuverability. With an Orcan on the side and a properly leveled Thunder... it's not a bot you'd want to meet in a dark alley. For mid-long range, you can throw a Kwk (since you cant get the Trident and shouldn't get the Zeus yet) on the Golum or the Vit. Then the appropriate 500m rocket weapons... for the Vit it would be 2x CRVs, for the Gol 1x CRV and 1x Tulumbus. It's a bit tricky to use the gun separately from the rockets, though, so many stick with the patton with CRVs, like was suggested, since it's just a one button-press killer.

Looks like I am a long way off of Orkan weapons. Would replacing the Patton with a Boa be a good idea? Kinda like my Vityaz :-)

That patton could run 4 pinatas and be a beast, but a Boa and a Thunder can be too... a bit easier to play well, too. However, your Medium weapon should be decent to get the most out of it, so like I said above, if you do want the Boa, either try it with the Tulumbus or Punisher-Ts until you get one of the weapons we suggested. Tulums are 500m and don't excell at close range, but they work in a pinch. So yeah it could replace the Patton as you have it now.
Since you have two bots that are good beacon runners, you may consider replacing the Cossack with the Boa since you could use the Punisher T that is on that Cossack for the Boa, and running all rockets on the Patton. If you don't have enough rockets yet, then work towards it. That Gep can get beacons just fine.

BTW, doing well so far. Getting that 4th slot so early was a very good move. Use this time to bank Au and figure out what style of play you like. If you have more fun in a light bot, or if you prefer a knife fighter, etc. Mistakes are best made early, when they matter less. That, and this and the wikia forum that this forum replaces, has SO MUCH info... take your time and don't stress the losses, and you will be kicking butt in no time.

Sry dude, I didnt realized your level. So yes, u're really doing well by now. Stop investing time/silver with upgrading Molots/punishers (instead focus on silver rocket weapons, and as soon as u unlock workshop, work towards the plasma weapons). Just get a Boa, and try for yourself which bot you wanna switch out With the Gep you already have an extremely good beacon grabber... you may want to consider switching out the Cossack. And yes, the Orkan is quite a grind, but worth it (next will be 5th slot, so those 1,2k are coming easy;)

Thanks Klatschkater and Tricky48 all sounds like great advice! I will try out the Boa. Hadn't even thought of using the Gep as a beacon hunter, so thanks for that.

Oh, and if you dont like the Patton that much... use him a bit for rocket training with Pinatas, then eventually switch towards 500m rocket support (CRVs) - learn to use the increased range and the splash damage (shooting corners where enemies have just retreated and still get them ). And then dump him (while keeping him... u may wanna tryout a 4x EE Aphid Patton eventually) - imho this bot is not as good as a second boa. Too slow, too little health and looses weapons to fast. (On your tier you may wanna try out a 4x spiral patton - it means wasting time on those spirals for upgrades, it lacks overall damage, but is an extremely fun setup (with a bit of practise you can fire those rockets around corners and stuff...). As for the Gep: max speed from level 1 on, HP like a medium, crazy DPS with Mags... it outruns every Cossack (as long as they cant use max range jumps from heights), and as soon as you have those Mags attached you can not even cap beacons, but also butcher the first unlucky dude who comes that way... As for clans: if you just wanna give it a try I can invite you to mine... wont stay there for long cause theyre not competitive enough for my playstyle, but feel free to leave when I do (joining wikittens ). Just in case u wanna give platooning a try Edit: just saw your post. Looking good to me. Leave the vit as it is for now (u have enough pinatas;) - later consider magnums. Secondary weapon for the Boa pick a Tulumbas (may not sound to cool, but 2x Tulumbas and 2x CRV are exactly the 500m rocket weapons you'll need later on (google "RDB Griffin" )), at least till you have first Orkan/ Taran Edit 2: Just focus on upgrading bots towards 4. Practise patience with pinatas (I never managed this...^^). By then workshop should be open (use the free wsp u get while levelling it up for weapons (get 4 Magnums and min 2 Taran before thinking about Bots)). If your gold income is ok, I'd say even consider spending 25 gold per day for an additionally 250 wsp... least as long as you need those weaps..

@klatschkater Sure I'd like that invite see what it's like in clan life. Changed to the Tulumabas on Boa. Need to bank more silver as i used a lot in the last couple hours, but if I like the boa I may swap out the Patton. I def like the in your face kill you aggressive tactic more then the hide and snipe. At least so far.

Invite sent. Most of those dudes only speak german, so save the funny jokes for when I am on . Looking forward to some onslaught Edit: the tulumbas for the boa is a sub-par reccomodation (range differs to much), but you will learn to love that weapon, might as well start levelling one now^^ As the most important advice: change tageting mode via options, then learn to use that. The additional tapping to switch through targets is confusing first, but it will help you cause damage where needed A LOT, once mastered.

Ditch the GAU and replace with Pinata or Magnums once you get them.
Ditch the GAU on Boa and replace it with Tulumbas for now, and Taran when you get it later.
Keep your Workshop points for Tarans & Magnums, preferably 4 of each.
Save your Gold! Keep it for 5th slot. A 5th bot will help a lot in your games later, and clans generally like seeing members with 5 slots.

Horning in here with a newbie tactics question; are there any commonly accepted or used forms of communication in game to signal, let's team up, or go for the beacon I'll cover, you fix the rhino with fire, I'll get him from the side, etc. I know using side channel comms in clans are common, but surely there has to be a rudimentary way to shoot, move, AND communicate... So far, for the short time I've played, I've been choosing an approx. speed/armored bot and tagging along, trying to back me up (flanking, massing fires, covering, whatever I can pull off with my thumby thumb thumbs). Apologies for highjacking. Sometimes I use "shooting in-game" to signal members where to go etc. But generally if a member goes for a beacon, don't go for the same beacon, go cap other beacons.

The tips have helped greatly, my damage and usefulness have gone up a lot, and I am often placing top and getting 10 EU. Thanks a ton for all the advice. I will look into magnums once I hit 20. Is there ever a point where you can upgrade more then one item at a time?

none.. only 1 item at a time.. this will start to kill you when you're upgrading items from Level 8 and above

Hey Dude, nice to have u in our clan and pretty decent round we pulled off;) Pls let me know which timezone u're in, we may be able to do a lot more squadding/ clubbing Edit: considering the Mags... just get them, then try out where you like them best (every knifer with a Thunder profits a lot, Geps probably profit the most from 3 Magnums;)
