I don't understand all the hatred toward both users of these weapons and the weapons themselves. Personally I love my zenit/noricum natasha.I constantly hear complaints that the weapon requires no skill whatsoever to use (I happen to disagree, but I digress.) So my question is why? Why all this hate for these weapons?

I can understand having one out of six bots carrying Zenits/Noricums in certain maps. It can be useful if you face a camping sniper - you can force him out of cover so that your other snipers can actually damage him .
Ok, the weapons themselves aren't very effective in most situations but I guess it's the associated playstyle that gets criticized. Personally, I enjoyed running a quad Noricum Patton in Silver league. Piloted at brawling ranges exclusively.

It's not the weapons/bots themselves that are annoying. What is annoying is when the pilot stays in that bot the entire match when the red team is clearly winning. Pay attention to the timer and the health of your team, and know when it is time to eject and try something different, e.g. get a beacon.
And on the receiving end, yes they are annoying. Which is why I'm coming after you. LOL!

Both weapons are irritants to both red and blue teams, no matter how "well" they are used. They do little damage usually, and the users usually stay in them too long with too little effect. Love killing them.

Love killing them. I agree Arty do little damage in a lot of situation, but they are not useless. Arty is good at against stealth bot during cooldown (Stealth bots usually camp behind cover during ability cooldown). Arty is good at against sniper build. Arty is good at against Raijin in Baston mode. After all, it should not be the problem with the weapon but more like the problem with the pilot. I'm not running Arty in my hanger right now but I do appreciate good Arty teammate when the red also has arty/sniper.

I sometimes run a Zenit Butch just to create a never ending barrage of projectiles on the "Reds". It gets dropped first and it sits there (sometimes I move it around) and constantly lobs Damage and an occasional "Kill" on the enemy. I will play it until a Red bot comes across the battle field and does me in, it's not like I can do damage to any Bot that gets up in my grill. After which I drop in and play with other Bots. I play the Butch with the expectation that it will be removed from play rather quickly. It has however lasted through complete games on many occasions. Either because my teammates destroy the Reds before they get too close or the players on the Red team don't realize what an easy kill the Butch would be. I find that playing with an Artillery Bot is fun for a change of pace now and then. But it is not a regular Bot in my hanger.

it's not so much your mech or your weapons, it's that usually whichever team has the artillery guys is the team that loses. they may get themselves a couple kills, but the team suffers for it because they just sort of jingle around near the starter point in the same mech and don't contribute very much.

Why all this hate for these weapons? The hate is for the pilot, not the weapons. Let's be clear about that. As for why, simple. The kind of player who favours these two weapons is the kind of player who is selfish, cowardly, stupid, new, doesn't understand win conditions or a combination of those things. It's a generalization, but accurate. I personally think they have a place. In any league.
