What ever happened to him? I've never gotten as much enjoyment out of anything in my life than I did from his videos. Listening to and watching such a refined English gentleman give me the whathow on becoming the best robot pilot I can be. I could listen to that guy talk about the growth rates and characteristics of different strains of grass and it would brighten my day.

Moved on to pastures new, I think. As to whether or not he'll be doing vids, only time will tell if there's a demand.

Agreed. His videos were my favorites. The last one I saw a few weeks back he expressed a lot of frustrations with the game. He may have lost interest like many others im afraid.

I would understand. Gareths get taken out quite easily by a few stray MRS rockets

I think Lloyd thoughtfully laid out why he was frustrated about the mid-range meta (TT Fury) and how it basically made it limited strategy to basically fighting fire with fire. I've gone from 800-1200 cups in ten days to 300-400 cups a day lately. Perhaps Lloyd will come back after the new League system arrives or the new weapons/bots get here.

Well I sure hope he comes back. I wouldn't even care if his videos were about strategy. He could simply tell awful dad jokes over a video of terrible mid range game play and I would watch.
As for actual gameplay, I'm not in the top tiers yet, so I still love my plasma Gary. ?

I have recently found Ace Thunder's channel and I must say it's amazing. I loved listening to his Tactian Series and a really do hope that does more videos in the future. I really do respect him as he prioritises quality over quantity. He is an amazing YouTuber. Keep it up Lloyd

In his last video he stated that he will continue to make videos, but prefers quality over quantity. Basically, he'll post when he feels he has something meaningful to say. I think most of us would sit and listen to him read the phonebook though.

Ace Thunder is still playing the game. He's a member of the wiki clan so we know. Still active with cup count stable. Just asked for a squad awhile back
but he might be busy with work right now. #reallifehappens

I can't quite put into accurate words how surreal it was for me to stumble upon this thread. It would be quite easy to get sentimental but I will spare you the gushing and just say thank you to the OP + posters here for your words. I'm beyond pleased the videos have served you well Much as Super-Hero said, real life happens. I've just finished moving apartments and my internet took several days to transfer to the new address, I got it back a couple of hours ago now but still need to shift stuff around etc etc. And much as ashenbhatoa said, I haven't felt there to be anything particularly worthwhile making a video for recently. I've shared most of what I deem video worthy in the Tactician series, at least until something new is introduced into the game that requires consideration. When it comes to other topics such as guides and upcoming changes, the other channels take care of that fairly well so there is no need for me to repeat what has already been said. I do have 2 other videos in mind to make, one that is quite different from what I've done before, and possibly one discussing the graphical effect changes. I just need to get my real life back into balance so I can focus on them. I've recently invested in a new, more modern, computer also. And as such am considering branching out into reviews/analysis/critiques/tactics of other games. A challenge to myself to see what else I can pull off. (I have my eye on 'For Honor' at the moment but I'm holding back until they improve the netcode) War Robots has become somewhat stale for me now I can't deny, and I have been playing much less. The homogeny of TT has taken its toll somewhat. I will of course keep playing though (will do so after I've written this post!) and will make another video should there be a value in doing so. P.S. And after playing said game, I was reminded of how the matchmaker punishes me for getting my winrate up by serving me underlevelled & equipped teammates to 'balance' my 'skill' until I lose enough. This really doesn't inspire more play from me. I can only hope the league system alleviates this.Thank you once more for the support! Sincerely, Ace

Just chiming in to echo the others, your videos are top notch and when and if you feel motivated to make you will have the views. I appreciate you taking the time to make them.

Sincerely, Ace Thank you for the reply, and congratulations on finishing a move. Those are always a load of fun. I'm glad to hear you still have an interest in doing videos, even if they aren't always about War Robots. I probably won't play the other games, but I will definitely watch any video you make. I know a lot of people are struggling to enjoy the game because of the recent changes, but I'm still loving it. I'm rarely home and rarely have free time when I am, so the fact I can play this game anywhere on my phone is a great outlet for me to unwind for a few minutes. Would you be open to suggestions for videos in the future, whether they be War Robots or another game?

When the new leagues reach iOS I'll make sure to play more so I can give it a fair hearing. Absolutely open to suggestions, but I would still wish to maintain the philosophy of said videos having a tangible value to the viewer.

Matchmaking is not affected by your win rate. (Demonstrated when I fought 4v6s until 28% and maintained a stable average damage)
The only thing that affects the matchmaking is your average damage.

Well my first suggestion, ironically enough, would be a Suggestion Series. Maybe pick out things that you don't like or agree with in the game, and maybe do a video of your suggestion on how to fix it. You're clearly one of the most knowledgeable players in the game, and I believe your suggestions carry some weight with them. The added benefit to the viewer is watching more of your gameplay. I not only got better at the game via your narratives, but also from simply watching you play. You did a great job verbalizing your though processes throughout the match, but it's also helpful just seeing skillful gameplay overall. There are little nuances here and there that are probably second nature by now, but seeing them is helpful to newer players. Sometimes I have to rewatch one of your videos to remind me not to run my Gary face first into a DB salvo lol.

I've had that video in mind for a while, and I've a list of stuff in my head that I think could help the game be more engrossing. Much if it are small quality of life changes and asthetic improvement suggestions which are admittedly a little OCD from me and not integral. I'm one of those 'devil is in the details' guys. I mentioned in the Mid Range Meta video that I'm cautious not to make too much critique content lest I give the impression I'm often ranting or that I'm never satisfied (the latter being somewhat true for most aspects of life in general!), which can have diminishing returns for the message of the video and the viewer. I will make the video. But I feel I need at least 2 more neutral videos to balance out another critique. Glad to hear you're improving your game. It's surprising the mental effort it can take sometimes to overcome the automation our brains so love to fall into!

For what it's worth, I didn't see your mid-range meta video as ranting or complaining. I know that, to a degree, that's what it was. You are knowledgeable about the subject matter, and you don't include your personal agenda in your commentary. It's kind of like you come up with a thesis, and then you provide facts and examples to back up your thesis. So while it may technically be "complaining", I believe you do it with good intentions, purpose, and for the overall betterment of the gaming experience. Do you have discord? I'd love to pick your brain, about War Robots among other topics.

And the Line app doesn't seem to let me sign up to it correctly at the moment. Possibly due to my country of residence, but even when I pretend I'm in another country using a VPN I still have issues. I will get around to being more social in due course!

acethunderI just thought of another possible video. Have you ever thought of, or tried out a Hydra/Aphid Gary? It would be a very defensive setup with a little less damage potential, but I feel like it could be such a pesterence to the opposition. You would probably be able to keep several reds distracted for an entire match without dying. I'm just not sure how much of an overall effect on the outcome of the game he would have.

I've already beaten you to it on this one! I had the same thinking as you a while ago prior to patch 2.5 when the mid-range meta was really starting to kick in, but the overall damage was too insubstantial that most enemies just ignored me. Perhaps at max level they might make a minor impact, but I hadn't the motivation to earn and spend the silver on such a niche idea. One of Gary's key assets is that alongside his shield and speed, his potential firepower can be also be threatening enough to warrant attention. Take that away then his other advantages are best suited to beacon capture, which is undermined by equipping sub-par weapons that are not suited to support you in that role.

And if u ever need help creating a "flock" or "herd" of bots of any kind, let me know. I'm down to be an extra. Just let me know in the forum or in-game chat.
