Are Tridents overpowered? Should they be nerfed?

I know that I might upset a few people here, but from my current experience with War Robots, I've found that tridents are completely overpowered. They do 7459 damage per shot when fully upgraded, have the highest splash damage of any weapon, and cost workshop points instead of gold. Currently, I think that they're changing the game meta, as all people have to do is just stay in one place as they press a red button every 10 seconds. More and more people are getting them, and - especially on maps like Yamantau and Springfield, but also on Shenzhen and Canyon - they can dominate the entire game. I'm interested to hear your thoughts, though, and I'm not trying to stir a hornet's nest by doing this; only trying to create conversation.
