Great thread. I still run a Molot Rhino on the old Android account for TDM and/or ranged maps. That account is a bit low in the leagues but it still encounters component weapons and bots. It has its place. I use it specifically for anti-sniper and some MR suppression. It's a niche build, to be sure, and I don't know if I could recommend it, necessarily, but I do enjoy it. An all Molot Griff or Rhino, at higher levels, will punish you if you stand there and take it too long at 500 - 600m. I can shield up to get in range and then choose my moment. Again, though, battlefield awareness is key. I won't drop if rockets are everywhere or if the Reds have intermingled in with our bots behind the "line". Against ST and other energy MR, and even Hydra to some degree, it's a beast if you can get into a good flank position or in a spot that allows for hitting the lanes of advance to your position.
IMO. YMMV

Haven't got one yet but as soon as I get a second hangar I'll train one as an assault anti-sniper. Noricum + tumbalas sounds fun and confusing to run down the large maps. dont do that setup it seems fun but it is a waste. If you want an anti sniper stick with only 1 range on all weps. Best anti-sniper rhinos are arbalest/ballista , tulu/pin , arbalest/craptrain , scourge/spark and taran/mag to some extent. Actually, I can see some usefulness in this build. The Noris are very effective in the short to mid range. Keep the bot at 500m and you can rain down bombs to chase a sniper out of cover, let him hit your shield with a treb blast, drop the shield and cut loose with Tulus. On paper, it could work. If I were in a lower league, I might give this a shot. Too bad I never thought of this before! I don't miss running my Rhino though. I remember coming here for advice on how to run him when I first got him. I had a blast too. My favorite moment was running into the Anciles of 2 Fujins back to back and DB'ing them to Helheim. But, the Rhino attracts way too many rockets. People running Orkans see a Rhino running and they think: free silver!

Throw in a cool-down booster and see what happens with a high leveled Nori build... even a 6 second cooldown time would be maddening to a ST Spec or a Haechi that wants to regen his shield... *laughs maniacally*
Seriously, I've seen more maxed Arty builds lately in Expert through Champions League hangars and they are all very high leveled and HURT like a mofo. They have a bad name due to being used incorrectly and too long in lower leagues... but if you have a bunch of MR or LR campers on the Red's team, Noris can flush the quails out for those waiting to take the shot. They hurt now and the MR performance is so much better than it used to be... Flight time for the munitions is very short for sub 500m and not to bad for 600m. Spread reduction makes for some concentrated damage, actually making up for the damage nerf they took when tweaked.
But yeah, the rest of your post and one before it brings to mind what we always used to say to prospective Rhino pilots: It can take a while, maybe even a week or two of constantly playing it, to get the most out of that bot. I started with Tulus to be able to learn it without getting too close, then changed to PDB and DB. DB was my favorite because it could be an instant game changer if used at the right time and place.
Now, however, you aren't one of the top 3 fastest bots anymore in a Rhino... and it's as much the shield strength in an energy heavy META as it is newer pilots not being able to defend against them very well that allows the SR builds to still work to any degree.
IMO, YMMV

having a rhino pre dash era was an absolute necessity with all the lancelots and plasma griffins, i have been seeing a few more lately even within champs although they dont last long, some pilots do know how to use the bot effectively. Had my scourgasari trolled proper by a RDB rhino which makes me wanna throw my some tulus and pins on my dusty lad and take him for a trot

I ran a lvl 9 DB Rhino all the way up to M1 during the winter. I shelved it just before hitting Champ when I got my dashes from the events in December and February. It's probably the bot I miss the most of my old lineup. I still take it out for a spin once in a blue moon with mk2 lvl 12 orkans and mk1 lvl 10 pinatas for old times sake. In some situations against multiple shocktrains it's still good. Once my main hangar is all mk2 I might consider maxing the Rhino and the pinatas mk2 just to run it sometimes. I often see Predator using it in his videos and it always make me want to dust off my own again.

He consistently stayed at 400-500m, often in cover, and had leveled up those 「illegitimate child」s. He did a lot of moving forwards, baiting, and then backpedaling. I had only experienced noob noricums until then.

I used to be good with Noris, but no matter how good you are, at the end of the day, it's still a support build and you will rely heavily on your team to protect you. When Pix buffed the Nori to minimum 300m range, I started using the Nori like an Aphid. It was a blast to run around behind cover and shoot heavy bots with it. But, all it took was one Griffin or Rogatka to jump over the cover and I was toast.
I've shelved my Noris now. Never got more than a pair to level 7 anyway. In my opinion, the Nori needs another buff and make it fire like the Pinatas with reload while firing. If they did this, the Nori would truly be effective again.

Finding a lot of LVL12 MK2 Zenit/Noricum builds lately and that things really hurt most of the modern squishy bots.

It's really easy to avoid Zenits and Noris, especially with the modern squishy bots. I think I've been killed maybe once or twice by them. That's a low low percentage IMO.

A Rhino is only good for charging Snipers. Unfortunately for Rhino pilots a bot with Orkans destroys them usually before they get to the sniper. This game would be radically changed if physical shields did anything to protect against splash damage. All of a sudden Rhinos, Galahads and Lances would be usable at higher levels again. Right now they are all sitting ducks for any Dash bot and any Descend bot with Orkans.

Light and medium slot anciles is the simple solution. As of now, most other weapons in the game have 2-3 versions of the same weapon, while ancile is a heavy only. Even adding light/medium aegis to existing bots with no current abilities would make some of these silver/gold/wp bots usable again.

I wanted to thank all those of you who pilot Rhinos! One of the pleasures of the game is to charge into battle flanked by, and overtaken by, Rhinos. When I see them, there I charge with my gunshot Galahad. Like swimming with dolphins and dancing with wolves, all hail the Rhino! Have you tried using a Rhino? You should! There's a bit of a learning curve but once you get the hang of it, it's quite effective. Right now mine is only at level 6 but I get a lot of "Wrampages" with it and even pulled off a couple of "Godlikes". Frequent Rampages! what set up may I ask do you use?

I do get Wrampages and even the occasional Godlike. The only thing I have to work on is patience. I don't charge in recklessly but in my eagerness to get that kill I sometimes don't put up my shield when I should.

bravexWhat bots do you hunt and how do you use a PDB Rhino. Dies to orkans and you can’t walk back wards very fast to go into cover. Against plasma shield limits firepower and firepower makes dying very quick. charging Zeus dragon and trebuchet users would work very well. I personally use a DB rhino, charge into anciles and unload on unsuspecting half-health reds. On paper, PDB rhini doesn’t sound very powerful so what tactics do you employ to get that damage and kill streaks

I’ve got near maxed tulus and pins on my lvl 9 rhino, I’d say your Galahad would have a pretty tough time dealing with me on the only maps I run it on (long range hangar) :-)

Orkans obviously have a long reload but even the 5 second reload on a Zeus is enough for me to drop the shield, get a couple of shots in and raise the shield again. i guess the answer to that question is patience and timing.

Supposedly resistances should be put in soon & the Rhino is slated to get "medium" resistance against explosives. Not to skip off of the Rhino, but all bots are supposedly getting this, with legacy bots, heavies, and weaker DPS bots getting the best resistances overall.

I'm building one now. I'm debating between a Storm/Gust Griffin or putting the weapons on the Rhino. Which is better?

I just won a Rhino from a silver chest. I ran one on my old account and didn't care much for it. I have been seeing them more in BR & KotH lately and thought about trying one again. I think I have enough spare weapons to try several setups, Plasma, DB, RDB... I don't think I have enough Gusts for a Shotgun build. Has anyone run a full Punisher build? I think I've got some lv10 Puns and lv8 T's, maybe. Might be worth a shot while I learn to pilot again.

If you can field 2(pair) of either you should be fine with a mixed machine gun + shot gun build. ie.. 2 Gust + 2 Punisher-T's (my preference), or 2 Punishers + 2 Storm. This way as your shotguns are slowing down, your machine guns are accelerating, and the shotguns will still fire as the machine guns reload. But as you can see from my post above, while the rhino is low level using range is best. Another possibility is, level it up in the garage & keep it out of the active hanger until useful.

You actually have two of the four bots capable of running high level magnums, you could swap mags on the stealths and use the gust. But meh, the stealth bots running magnums need to be high level to bang it out with high HP & armored bots. It is why the gust is prefereable, a lot more bang for your buck at any level on any level bot. I haven't tried the combo W/ Punisher + Storms, but I think it would work like this... Break the ancile/shield/armor with the Puns while charging and unload the Storms point blank. I prefer the opposite setup W/ Gust + Punisher-T, because I use the gust to break the ancile/shield/armor, then fire the Puns to finish and retreat. The punishers make a better retreating weapon than shotguns and the gust don't have to reload when the frontal armor is up having a more constant fire, as where if your light punishers reload while frontal armor is up, you have no weapons firing. But your combo looks like it would have more punch/damage to it.

That is nice, although Predator is a sponsored professional, it will be nice to see how these will be when the resistance, penetration, and modules are added. Then we still will have to take a step back and compare to all these new bots...BUT! Supposedly all these new additions are supposed to make non-dash/non-stealth bots still viable...only time will tell.

Orkan gust Orkan Pinata Taran Magnum Scourge spark Taran/Scourge shredder To list some good builds Yes, it is supposedly getting more resistance to it's major bane... explosives (note: the resistance is "medium" not "high"), hopefully it will stay at that level when introduced. But, it will be still weak to kinetics like Molot & Punisher types, hence the frontal armor still being important. Rhino is awkward because it is 1 of 2 medium armored bots, as I personally would like to see more resistances on the medium & heavy armored bots as they die to explosives stupid fast.
