won a Griff on the spin (the same thing all over again), lottery - to my surprise!
however, i'm not familiar with this bot as I concentrated with my Leo - could anyone hand me an advise for a cheap build and have fun with it please! read this and that but not sure what to do spent this and that too.
I'm a Level 15 Noob just started this 3 days ago!
I love my Leo but looked like Griff's some teeth too!

Best cheap options: Short Range: "Lead Hose" Griffin with Punisher/Punisher Ts. Medium Range: "Russian Death Button" Griffin, with Tulumbas/Pins Long Range: Molot/Molot Ts
I think Molots suck personally. Russian Death Button is a really fun setup to ambush with at 500m, you can jump at them at ~600m and get them coming down, usually totally unexpected. But it has limited damage output due to reload times, and if a knife fighter gets close to you when you're reloading you're target practice. The best, IMHO, is Punisher Griffin. It's the most newbie friendly, and is still noticeable at midrange.

Depends on your style of play, what you have available, "random" mode you draw, and even the map you're on. A short range brawler with Taran/Magnum is pretty popular, as is a Storm/Gust setup. Orkan/Pinata setup is pretty popular in the higher leagues, Orkans aren't cheap, but every now and then you luck out and get one in the Bronze or Silver chests. I've found that a PunisherT/Punisher setup can be a fun mid-range lead chucker and have even been cut down by a MolotT/Molot. Hydra/Spiral setup pisses a lot of people off, myself included, but has a way of aggravating players enough to get them to move. There are several other setups I've seen and tried with the premium component weapons, but at Lv15 you probably don't have too many of those stockpiled yet. Just try different things and see what works best for you.

Tulumbas/pins or Punishers are the best silver set ups Tarans/mags or Orkans/pinatas are ideal if you have those items.

RDB (tulumbas/pins) and Plasma (tarans/magnums) are the best griff setups.

santmr55 I'm in expert league and I still can't live without my RDB. Play wise and keep your distance and you'll find it very useful indeed! Plus the weapons all start at level 5, so you're saving yourself a lot of time there too. Pretty competitive bot straight out the packet.

Personally, I still think the Griffin is probably the best silver bot in the game. You could probably take a 4 or 5 bot hangar full of Griffins pretty damned far. The biggest downside to the Griffin is it's ground speed and the fact that it's got 4 weapons to upgrade (which ironically is one of its pros).

RDB (Tulumbas and Pins) is an excellent cheap build that holds up better than most legacy builds. The splash allows you to hit bots hiding behind obstacles with ease.

Match weapon type/range, and there's really no wrong answer. I'm now tempted to test that claim by trying a Ballista/Arbalest build...

When I started a smurf account I used both the punisher griff and RDB griff, having great success with both. If I had to choose one, I would go punishers.

For now I would suggest a RDB (x2 tulumbus x2 pin) build and switch to a PMD (x2 Taran x2 magnum) when you can afford it as it is a build you can take almost to the top. I am currently in expert league and have been running x2 Orkan and x2 aphid on my griffin and have been very happy with it. Just remember, right now you may have a limited number of possibilities but soon you will be flooded with many more. Don’t get too attached to any build you have as it will change many times. Good luck;)

I tried pretty much all the Griffin builds. Pin/Tulu is a good one. My preferred was a spydra. Spiral/hydra. It will also help you last longer in games. Give you a different option to just knife fighting.

In the current meta, RDB Griffin is my absolute favorite early on. Tulus and Pins start at level 5, so it is ready to use right out of the box, unlike Punisher setup, which needs you to hit "upgrade Punisher" 16 times to reach that level, which takes a long time if you play casually and don't use Au to speed it up.
Preferentially upgrade those Tulumbas, because at some point you might own a Dash bot or Spectre, and Tulus work spectacularly with them too (of course not much compared to Scourges or Shocktrains, but the cost of those is astronomical, in time and in grinding or real money).
Also, Tulus are possibly the best weapon against stealth bots, especially Spectre with its low health, because a lot of cover is so small you can hit anything behind it, and even with larger cover not all players remember to go deep enough into cover to avoid the splash. So they take the stealthy hit&run, and stealth ends, and then you give them a load of rockets.
---
Old favorite, DB Griffin, has the problem of speed and durability these days. I would but 2 Orkans on a Rogatka (for a budget hangar) or Hover (still a budget hangar) or of course Spectre or Inquisitor (if you want the real DB of today's meta).
PDB Griffin is as good as ever I suppose. The longer range Scourge+some suitable light equivalent are better, but also so much more expensive.
RDB Griffin is the safe, cheap, powerful choice, if you have enough patience to take advantage of the burst and the splash.

As others have said, go for the RDB griffin first. It is effective and if you are careful with range control you can last for quite a while in the bot. I'm levelling up a tulumbas spectre as the RDB was one of my favourite builds, its not the most powerful but great against other spectres and bulgasari.

You can also hit them while in stealth if they’re anywhere close to a wall by just unloading on the wall. I killed an Inky in stealth yesterday by doing that and he was so pissed off he suicide charged me with the rest of his hanger.

You don't want to miss, than then be out of rockets when the target comes out of stealth. But it's all part of the Tulu&Pin skill set, of course.
