At last, I'm done, I'm finished. With the forums. I kinda realized that playing this game and being on the forums doesn't help me with my goal of going to Princeton, or in getting a Master's degree in Physics. And so I am going to cut back dramatically on War Robots... starting with the forums. I spend way too much time on here... and besides, I have a bad reputation on here, so I'm getting outa here. I did want to take a little time to acknowledge some people, starting with DarkVagabond Nobody but you knows this, so i guess its time to tell the world... You took the time to help me grow, both here on the forums, and in real life. You told me lots of things, among which are that I should listen more, and take time to answer questions with sincerity, which has ringed true both in the forums, as well as my freshman year of highschool. You took the time to do that, and I am very grateful. In fact, in my personal and honest opinion, you are the only one who honestly cared about my well being, and cared about making me a better person. I may snoop around on here once in a blue moon, just to see what kind of schemes Fuxonic payxonic pissxonic Pixonic is planning on doing. So mods, please don't delete my account, just in case I don't make it to Princeton I'm still going to play War Robots, but this is hopefully the first of many steps to begin the process of not playing War Robots as much. Lastly: @earlcampbell and Danny Linguini , keep on making people laugh, DarkVagabond , keep on helping make people better, Strayed , stop being a stranger, and Poopface , keep on being a poop face. I'm Josh, I'm a Christian, and I'll be a sophomore in highschool. I'm 15, and I have played the game for just over one year. I am completely F2P and always will be. See you on the battlefield... All the best @mrjoshie333 If you go to Princeton physics, I guess you will have to go all the way (PhD). Hope you study what you want and become a happy and successful scientist!

MrJoshie333 It's our loss that you're stepping back. That said, I think it's a healthy decision you're making.
Way back when I was about your age (holy balls, do I feel old.....?) I stepped back from playing varsity soccer my junior year of high school because I knew I needed to focus more on my studies to get into a good college to become an engineer. Short version: I have my engineering degree and a good career.
Best of luck, Josh. It's been a pleasure.

Capital decision! You've got too much of your life ahead of you to waste. Leave that to us middle aged guys... Best of luck.

Good luck and all the best! Studies come first after all, this is just a game/hobby.

You know the withdrawls will hit in a week or so. You'll be like, "hmmm, i wonder if there's any new posts. I'll just take a peek." And BLAMMO... sucked into some controversy or another. Hours later you realized you have your mid term exam in 2 hours and you got so caught up in War Robots Forum debates you just plain forgot the time. Anyway, good luck and may the Higgs Boson or whatever the new flavor of the month is be yours.

It's the right decision, and you sound like a great guy.
No sage words of advice just a hug from a continent away.

MrJoshie333 @mrjoshie333, love you too bro, but don't take what people post online personal. You're old enough, and definitely smart enough to know that online behavior varies, usually to the worse, than real life behavior. But you seem to have your head on your shoulders, and I respect that, your parents have done well. On a Master's in Physics from Princeton...don't let a school brand get in your way too much. I have a BSME from the University of Texas (at Arlington) and have done ok. Apart from your first job, the school you went to has little bearing on your career unless your job field is especially cliquey. I've been in the position of hiring junior engineers, experience trumps which school they attended, in almost all cases. Even better than Physics is the dark side, engineering. Consider that my sales pitch. I hope you really don't stay away for good, but you're 100% right on managing your time better. I've enjoyed your posts and participation, and appreciate the fact you're such a good player without paying the evil 「illegitimate child」s your money, good on you! I hope to still see your posts from time to time...best wishes to your career.

Oh man, if this forum is allowing DarkVagabond and Poopface to shape the minds of the future, we're in big trouble. Just kidding, via con dios @mrjoshie333 . I commend you for focusing your time on better pursuits.

Consider that my sales pitch. I'll concur with what he said, @mrjoshie333. My degree is from Grove City College (Pennsylvania). I got my first internship because I'm an Eagle Scout. My degree has helped me here and there, but my success (such as there is) is tied to working hard in my internship (and eventually career) and insisting on doing the right thing.
Work hard, be kind, help others, and try to get an internship in whatever field you want to get into.
Like Earl, I've hired people (techs and engineers). I've never paid attention to where they went to school or whether they had a post-graduate degree. Professional titles (PE, for example) matter depending on the field. PhD's matter if you want to get into some of the oddball side of things here (NASA) and work like a mad scientist. Otherwise, when hiring junior personnel I paid attention to the practical experience, applicable experience, and attitude. College (particularly for engineers) teaches you how to think and solve problems. Unless you get a career as a thinker, whomever you work for will teach you the specifics of what they need you to know to do your job.
@earlcampbell -- Engineering isn't the dark side; it's the practical side. We actually do stuff with what's taught in school!

Don't mind me, I'm just passing through.
Whoops, I dropped something. Oh well. I'm sure an oompa loompa will be along shortly to clean it up.

Don’t take me too seriously here , I’ve got seriousness deficiency disorder (SDD). I got my PE in 2012, from the encouragement of a colleague (we were chasing government work at the time). It was a good move...but graduated back in 2002. You’re right, engineers definitely make it happen. The gas you put in your car, for example, I helped get it there. There isn’t much else in life I can see myself doing as a profession. If Josh can get a degree in Physics, which may or may not land him a job, he can probably get a degree in engineering, which definitely will. Oh, Josh, my best friend from high school got a degree in Physics. He went back to law school in his 30s....

Really interesting how scientists found the Higgs Field.

Wasn't there a thread recently where someone said they were quitting the forum because there was only 「female dog」ing and moaning, and here we have the village idiot and some crap faced kid giving life advice and in general wishing well. Seems like a discrepancy. So i'll help. To OP... leave before PIXCRAPIC brainwashes you and controls your destiny!!!!!
There. All is in balance.
