For the last few weeks I have been upgrading an old economy Bulg in the back ground instead of the main hangar stuffs. I got it to 10 the other night and threw it in the hangar. I suck now. I relied a lot on speed before, and have to completely relearn the game. Even my damage per game went from like 875K to 800K, and win rate from 75-80% to 65-70%. And I have more firepower!!! Yesterday I literally got wrecked on every game, cause I cannot break old habits, and think I will just be able to retake beacons fast. Arrrggghhhh.... or take a ton of Orks in the face with the scourge platform.
I guess a good way to look at this though is that you can just change stuff around and makes the game somewhat new again.
To put things into perspective.... Old Hangar (about 2 months of playing it.. this is how it looked at the change)
Haechi -10 scourges - 12
2 Kumiho 9 and a 10 with Orks all 12
Pursuer - 12 Gusts 11,10,10
Inq - 9 Ember Tarans 8,11,10
see what I mean by speed..... that second Kumhio can really help get beacons at the end or in a pinch if the opposition has no speed out. I have often won on pure beacons while being out damaged and outclassed.
The change:
remove scourge from Haechi
remove Orks from lvl 9 Kumiho
switch the 10 Bulg with 9 Kumiho
put scourge on Bulg
Put orks on Haechi with a lvl 9 storm until the ork being leveled at the moment reaches lvl 9. (this is actually pretty effective for taking out anicles before unloading the rockets.)
So... its pretty awesome I replaced a duplicate in the hangar with one of the best bots in the game and am a worse player for it.... yeah me!
I am considering leveling some tarans, and putting the scourges back on the Haechi. I know I will eventually learn to angle myself to shoot the scourge at target with the shield facing on a consistent basis, but that shield does not replenish. Maybe its just the rockets I really gotta start looking out for, which I am not in the habit of doing yet.
Anyway, at least I learned that I should have done what I have always done with a new bot. take it out at lvl 5 or 6 and still level it while playing. That way I will at least subconsciously teach myself to be more careful with it.
Thanks for reading... rant over.
