This game is, in my personal opinion, going about the match-ups for the game all wrong. As far as I can tell, it's based on level, and ONLY level. AS SOON AS I hit level 20, the day I downloaded the game, my lightweight bots, such as my level 4 Gareth (with a level 4 Punisher T and a level 5 magnum) and my (quad-pinata-wielding) Jesse, became basically useless in combat. I'd hit my stride at the beginning of the game, rush in with my Gareth, take maybe two, three control points, get smashed by artillery, or a dive bombing griffin, maybe kill it in the firefight, and be back at the mech choosing screen once again. So I'll jump in my Jesse, AND AGAIN, get killed by artillery or a sudden attack from a Leo or some 「dookie」.
There are easy ways to fix this "Light bots are now basically useless in open maps, open spaces, 1v1s, team death match and free for all loser" that doesn't involve making the lightweights faster or something.
A Simple Change- There are now three different lobbies. while Still based on level, this gives some freedom to the players while still restricting the amount of forced Heavy vs. Lightweight battle.
Each Lobby advertises a different amount of points given at the start of the game- 5 Points(Lightweight), 8 Points(Medium), 12 Points(Heavy)
The cost to use a Light robot is 1 point.
The Cost to use a medium robot is 2 points.
The Cost to use a Heavy robot is 3 points.
Pros: All robots can still be used in all matches, allowing for creativity on how to use the points. Players will quickly find it effective to use the weight classes that is expected to be used in their respective lobby- Once you heavy is gone in Lightweight, The most firepower you can pull off is a medium. With an onslaught of lightweights coming at you, You'll be overwhelmed. the trade-off becomes The mech to firepower ratio.
Cons- Without proper skill, a single heavyweight can, and will, take out two, maybe three lightweight mechs before being taken down.
WEIGHT CLASS
Three Different Lobbies, once again. Once again Still based on level, This further restricts players, but fixes the Cons of the first.
Each Lobby is restricted to a chosen class type- If your hangar is full of heavies and mediums, you won't be able to enter a lightweight. If you've only got one, you're only allowed to use that one. You can play up, however- entering your lightweights into heavy lobbies to get 「fluffernutter」ed.
Pros- Makes lightweights useful again! Fight other lightweights! Make games fun by making the games based on skill and gun level, not just class and gun level! Gives me an orgasm! Battletech!
Cons- I can't shred up lightweights with my heavy artillery anymore I can't press a button over and over to annoy the 「dookie」 out of people ( 「fluffernutter」 balance ((
but 「fluffernutter」 all this lets just change the way currency works
