Apples and oranges, it seems to me. Is a hangar of 5 Stalkers a good one?
If most of your teammates are clueless campers that won't capture a beacon even if they stumbled over it, then _yes_, pursuing an agressive beacon capture strategy is pretty good. And I will grant that half of my random games seem to be that way.
However, if you're in a good squad then the answer is most definately _no_.

And yes on the Stalkers in the long run w.r.t. the MM. You may not be maximizing your chances of winning now, but your matches will get easier faster and when you do win you'll be very likely to get at least 5 gold. In a good squad, like playing with clan mates, you maximize your chances to win right now, MM be damned. You have to realize, the new MM adds a totally new factor to account for in hangar design - which is the whole point of this thread. Used to be you played whatever gave you the best chance to win each and every match. You optimized for tier, you followed the meta, etc. Now, unless you're already at Top things are more complicated. You want to play a hangar that gives you a good chance to win the current match, balanced against the MM and what is likely (thanks to the MM) to give you a better or worse long term experience overall. |
