Oh, my, god. I forgot how bad graphics were back in the late 80's early 90's. Fond memories of the arcade machines though.

Well.. That was different. So.. I thought Akuma was Ryu's cousin or something who embraced evil? And.. I guess shao kahn is into necrophilia cause I don't think there was gonna be a whole lot left of him. I must be doing something wrong my fights never lasted that long

Somehow it makes sense when u check Ruys transformation (in later Street Fighter Games) going to max and havin some similar moves.

Well I don't remember the details but there was a live action street fighter web series on youtube that covered ryu/ken, and er what ever akuma's real name is.
IIRC Akuma was Ryu's cousin or brother or something.. anyway Ken came to train with them to teach him discipline. Being able to throw fireballs was a skill that had to be learned the hard way.. but there was a shortcut, a path to evil "akuma" that's what he choose instead of doing it the hardway.
It's kinda like the Jedi, The dark side has tremendous power, easy to obtain but at a cost, it changed you.
So if that series was "cannon" then Akuma can't be Ryu's father, Later Akuma comes back and kills the master.. and then seeks to kill Ryu IIRC. BUT IIRC in the series Ryu goes with Ken to America and if they did any more series after that I didn't see it. this was a few years ago.

Capcom has always been mysterious about it. There r stories that Akuma had a relation w the mom of Ryu. But the story teller (Proxicide) used his interpretation, the vid in general looks great.
